Giuliani Focusing Media on Clinton and Taxes in NH

ABC News' Jan Simmonds Reports: The presidential campaign of Rudy Giuliani is going to launch a two-pronged media effort later this week in the state of New Hampshire focusing on taxes and government spending.
In the effort, the campaign will be releasing both a new television ad and a piece of direct mail in the Granite State touting the mayor's fiscal policies.
In the mailing, first obtained by the Boston Globe, the campaign uses large photos of Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., illustrating a list of her "out-of-control spending proposals" noting that the democratic candidate has already proposed "$773 billion in taxpayer financed spending."
The backside of the flier details Giuliani's plan to make "government more honest, transparent and accountable" citing his aims to end the death tax, simplify the tax code and reduce the federal workforce by 20%, saving $21 billion a year, among other things.
It also touts quotes from both television and print about how Giuliani is the "only Republican who can beat Hillary Clinton and the Democrats."
What is not mentioned in the piece of direct mail are the names "Romney" or "McCain" or the name of any other republican opponent for that matter.
While Giuliani remains undeterred from answering his critics and opponents when asked in public, for now at least, it appears that he has determined it is not the right time to go after his fellow republicans by name in advertising.

with republicans at the lowest point in history he's still a statistical tie with Hillary. What does that tell you about the dem front runner

I am in a continual daze over the candidacy of Rudy Giuliani. Scouring his background, I find a less-than-illustrious public life. Putting aside his failed personal life, the focus of his campaign seems to be limited to his "9/11 leadership."
Of course, this is a fallacy. As Mayor of New York at the time, Mr. Giuliani was nothing more than a photo op figure. Rather than being at the command post where he belonged, or at another non-distracting location, he paraded through the affected area - posing for cameras.
In truth, when one listens to countless emergency responder accounts, Rudy Giuliani had a history of non-support of those very responders. All of this, of course, negates any claims as a Hero of 9/11.
I submit that Mr. Giuliani is a dismally qualified candidate for the U.S. Presidency, and should be bypassed in favor of one with more credibility. The Republican Party has little to draw from to distinguish themselves from the pretender to the Presidency over the past 7 years. Undoubtendly, in Giuliani, they will hand over the Presidency to the Democrats.
I have yet to engage a Giuliani supporter who can "sell" their candidate.

As it is with all conservative/Republican candidates - they will put the tax and spend mantle on the Democrats. What have they done for the last 8 years for the American people? Healthcare - worse. Economy - worse. Dollar - worse. Oil - worse. Freedoms - worse. Iraq - slightly better but still draining the American's hard earned money. Iraq political compromise - unchanged. All in all - I'd say most Americans are either discouraged or pretty angry.

Giuliani doesn`t want to tax to pay for Bush`s war and all time high budgets. He wants to tax our children. As for the war on terrorism, his only contribution was to advise Bush to appoint his one time chauffeur, now indicted Bernie Keric, to head Homeland Security! Apparently he forgot his homework and so did not attend any 9/11 Commission meetings. Little wonder that Governor Keene endorsed McCain, the only qualified non-neocon Republican candidate.

Ok. I'm listening. Rudy's gotten my attention on health care. I like the things mentioned here. I might consider Rudy.
