'Live from NY': Obama Takes Jab at Clinton
November 04, 2007 6:17 AM
ABC News' Sunlen Miller Reports: In an unannounced appearance on "Saturday Night Live," Barack Obama hit the pop culture airwaves again, taking a veiled jab at his Democratic primary opponent, Hillary Clinton.
The cold open skit depicted a post debate Halloween party, with SNL's Amy Poehler playing Sen. Hillary Clinton D-Ill., dressed up as a bride.
A man in a Barack Obama mask came out, and when prompted, took off his mask, revealing himself to be the real Senator Barack Obama.
"Well you know Hillary I have nothing to hide," Obama, D-Ill., said, "I enjoy being myself. I’m not going to change who I am just because it's Halloween."
The comment from Obama – on the popular late night show – comes the same week he told the New York Times that Clinton had not been truthful with voters as to what she would do as president, and accused Clinton of flip-flopping at the democratic debate.
Obama's SNL performance caps off a week of slightly abnormal media appearance for any presidential candidate. On Monday he showed off his dance moves on the set of the talk show "Ellen."
Clinton had been invited to appear on SNL sometime this season (perhaps to host) but had sent her regrets that she wouldn't be able to do it.
ABC News' Kate Snow contributed reporting.

Obama speaks the truth, that's why reactionary, and he upsets fascist’s types. Remember this is everybody's America, those who were born here, those who fought and died for this nation, and we can do without narrow-minded, twisted, biased individuals who don't see the chance to elect this statesmen to the office the current administration is attempting to destroy. Bush would rather give away this country to illegal immigrants than to the people's will.

By the way, when someone speaks truth to power, we need to think about it. Do you realize how many (the majority of Americans), folks say the current president makes them sick! The lies, the smirks, the shredding of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and the veto of the Child Health Bill has made the nation sick. Come on people! In addition to his ignoring social ills, from Katrina to the rash of nooses being hung in public, your presidents makes us all want to puke.

Oh Obama the holier than thou candidate!
Here we go again, Obama going to yet another TV show, doesn't he loves TV prime time or what? Nickelodeon is probably the only show left for him to go. I am wondering for how long he will continue to be the darling of the national and TV press and when the journalist -no the comedians- will be asking him the real questions, about his “real” vision – no his book’s-and plans for America and what he has done for Illinois.
I am from Chicago and like many Chicagoans we are disappointed on him. We didn't know much about him before and we elected him to represent us there in D.C. He pledged to serve his full term and bring "change to Washington,” all we have seen in Illinois is the changes made to his fortune, his wealth and his friends. He hasn’t been here to helps us resolve the transportation problems we are having, he is silent about all the proposed tax increases in Illinois and Chicago (by his friends in Springfield and Major Daley), he was silent for the huge rate energy rates increases by ComEed (big Illinois fundraiser for Obama), etc. Where is Obama? Ah, he is promoting his books and promoting him personally. Not wonder his personal wealth has increased 1000% since he went to D.C.
He missed the most important votes in the Senate, he should be doing his primary job that is to be a Senator for the State of Illinois instead of campaigning to friendly urban crowds, college kids or doing the TV shows celebrity circle (Tyra Banks, Ellen, Oprah or Hollywood mansion’s fundraising). His “Audacity of Hope” is becoming “The Audacity of one Opportunistic, Energetic Totally Unprepared Politician” using big words and “big friends” to become President. I still waiting for a real example, policy, record that shows me or anyone else why we should vote for him again, he doesn’t deserved the trust we people in Illinois put on him to represent us in D.C. all he is doing is running for President.

First, everyone was upset when Bill Clinton went on Arsenio and played the saxophone. Now, the current Governor of California announced his candidancy from Jay Leno as well as the current presidential candidate Fred Thompson. Clinton, Dodd and Biden have all been on The View and Clinton visited for two segments on Ellen. Before the campaign season is over almost all the candidates will have visited MTV and Bill Maher. What I find the most interesting is that This Week covers Obama's SNL visit, but spends no time at all discussing his Iran policy. Which story is most important to the voters. Once again, we get ambivalent, symbolic coverage of Obama even when he provides real substantive speeches worthy of discussion. Don't you think his speech in South Carolina would have been a good topic of discussion when you have Bush's speech writer on the show. No, we get more horse race coverage with heavy emphasis on Clinton. I will give George credit for trying to hold Edward feet to the fire for his coded language on the campaign trail. The better follow up question to his non-answer would have been to ask him what he meant by the Jesse Helms' machine.

Patricia,
did you know that in almost every circumstance of "the rash of nooses being hung in public" were found out to be scams, perpertrated by minorities and anti-racism groups to raise the issue to the forefront, or by the supposed "victims" thmeselves as with this last teacher. Of course you probably don't as the media doesn't liek to report that embarrassing point after the fact. Look it up and find out for yourself. The one real, proven case of racim was the attempted lyniching of the white Dukee hockey players who were finally proven to be innocent.

This county has been enjoying a strong economy dispite being at war with terrorists who want to kill you and your family. Have you not heard that the nooses are a scam and being hung by lefties who want to then blame conservatives? And you blame Bush for that too? The majority of America does not say the President makes them sick. (Only your friends say that) How does it feel to be right about only one thing in your rant? Bush is soft of illegals and acts like a leftie on that issue. Hold on to your pocket book if a Democrat wins. And Obama, the statesmen, will be having tea with terrorists as his first order of business if elected. And READ the SCHIP. YOU will being paying for it and it will include people who should be taking care of themselves. People well above the poverty level who want free government hand outs. Probably people like you.....
