McCain to Iraq for Thanksgiving
November 19, 2007 10:42 AM
ABC News' Bret Hovell Reports: Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., is scheduled to travel to Iraq this week and will spend Thanksgiving with the troops.
This is McCain's third trip to Iraq since the start of the so-called troop surge strategy in Iraq. His last trip was over the 4th of July holiday.
He will be joined by Sen. Joe Lieberman, I-Conn., and Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., among others.

I wonder if they'll be serving plastic turkey, like they did a few years back when Dub visited.

I can’t help but think that his intentions are politically motivated. It seems that some politicians have a tendency to use our troops as poster children in their campaign and political endeavors.

John McCain is a truly great American. His commitment to victory over a fanatical enemy, but not at the expense of morality, and his devotion to building America are unsurpassed among all the candidates for the White House. He is the real deal, folks. I have met him. He can pull this country together like no one else in the field.

Another vist from McCain and friends? I think it is wonderful the troops are having visits from a fellow american when they can't go home. Are all these politicians taking their families at the tax payers exspense as they did when they went on their several "official" visits to Turkey?
I would think they were more sincere in what they were doing if the traveling was coming out their pockets and not ours and they were pushing harder yo convicne Bush to not veto the "anti" war bill to ensure all our troops are home by this time next year!
