Romney Tries to Be 'Values' Candidate

ABC News' John Berman Reports: Mitt Romney loves his family.  He loves it so much, he is paying thousands and thousands of dollars to run a TV ad about it.

The latest political spot from the Romney campaign is titled, "American Family," and features the former Massachusetts governor along with his wife Ann.  They are in a gauzy kitchen setting talking to "real people" about the importance of family.

"The future of this country is more affected by the work that goes on within the four walls of the home than anything else," says Romney, as if it is a conversation anyone would have with people they didn't know.

And Mrs. Romney chimes in, "And that's how we raised our boys, is knowing that they were the focus."

What is behind this most un-startling public stance?  Coming out in support of family?

Romney is trying to position himself as the "values" candidate in the Republican field; selling a folksy traditional message to the voters.  Moreover, the Romneys do have quite a family, five strapping sons who are out campaigning hard for their father. The campaign likes to shine the spotlight on them whenever possible.

If you are looking for a subtle subtext here, it is in the unwritten comparison with the other candidates in the GOP field.  Ann Romney likes to joke about how ironic it is that Governor Romney is the only major candidate who has only had one wife.  (The funny part, in case you missed it, is that Romney is a Mormon; a religion that used to promote polygamy.)

And no doubt, the Romneys would welcome comparisons between their family dynamics, and say that of the Giuliani clan.  The Romney boys write a blog on the campaign web-site called, "The Five Brothers Blog."  Meanwhile, it isn't even clear whether Giuliani's two children will vote for their father.

So listen carefully when you hear Ann Romney say, "And that's how we raised our boys, is knowing that they were the focus."

Yeah,Romneys' family and the values they have should be the values American Families and individual citizens look at it with great admiration and gratitude for Mitt Romney and the type of candidate him and his family is offering to the people of America.Let me tell you that I'm a immigrant American and I lived in other countries as well. The main hate people around the world is toward the United States is not her riches and power,it's the IMMORALITY IMAGES that spread like fire around the globe through magazines, movies, advertisements of all sorts(PORNOGRAPHY)especially with nude American women and men involved in sexual acts these kind of immages create a hateful attitude of most foreign countries and people towards America. At the same time they welcome with open arms Religious teaching and missionaries as a savior into their own countries and their lives. It is important that a Presidents' personal and family values as well as his Religious values is percieve from foreign countries as a positive image than a negative one.It helps with diplomatic efforts as well that a President has a strong family bond and moral values not an immoral leader with little power of convincing countries where moral and ethics is very strong from the top of Governments down to the ordinary citizens.

Romney is the strongest "values candidate" on either side, no question. He's also the strongest candidate to solve our government's problem of over-spending the tax-payer's money. And he's the most intelligent of all the candidates. Romney will be a great President.
