ABC News Christine Byun Reports: Republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson intended to release his new tax proposal, but ended up firing back against his other GOP rivals and critics.

In an appearance on Fox News Sunday, the former Tennessee senator defended his federalist stance on abortion, which former Governor Mike Huckabee (R-Ark.) has criticized him for having "50 different versions of what’s right and what’s wrong." Thompson repeated that he wants to abolish Roe v. Wade, but believed his strategy would be more passable and successful in overturning abortion.

"If we can't win the argument which I think that we are winning nationwide

we can never pass a constitutional amendment anyway. We sit here talk about the ideal, which would be a constitutional amendment, 2/3 of the congress, ¾ of the states and basically, saying that we can get that done, but we can’t go state by state and win this argument?" Thompson asked, adding, "I think we can make substantial progress and [former] Governor Huckabee agreed with that position until he started running for President."

He also said Huckabee’s rising poll numbers would be "cured" by the examination of his record, sarcastically commenting "that’s the reward you get for doing well in a poll." Thompson asserted his rival was weak on both lowering taxes ("he was a very high-tax governor") and illegal immigration, specifically by fighting "tax-payer funded scholarships" for them.

Combating former Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s accusation that Thompson lacked experience, Thompson rattled on about his senate career.

"I could go on and on … I dealt with those issues for almost a decade, both in and out of government, and of course Rudy has not, you know, 5 minutes of experience with regard of things of those nature," Thompson said, adding, "We all have our assets … but when you say experience, the question is, experience doing what?"

So they think the majority are on their side with an abolishment of Roe v. Wade. Majority where, Mars? Women will not give up this right even if they are members of the anti-abortion side. They will want to be able to have a front door abortion in cases of whatever they make as an excuse rather than a backdoor abortion where the medical facilities lack the necessary safety of whats present today. PERIOD!
