ABC News' Eloise Harper reports: Sen. Clinton, who is locked in a dead heat in Iowa with her rival Democrats, brought a surprise guest with her to her rally in Des Moines this evening: her mother.

Clinton has staged events all over Iowa with the intent to show that caucusing is not intimidating, and calls these rallies "Take your buddy to caucus." Clinton introduced her mother on stage saying "I wanted to bring a buddy with me; and so I brought my mother Dorothy Rodham." A roar of cheers could be heard through the crowd as the senator and her mother laughed on stage.

Clinton's mother came out tonight for the first time since she announced for president. Clinton said, "She lives with Bill and me and she's been following the campaign very closely. She has a lot of questions that I try to answer."
The Senator told a story of coming to Iowa 53 years ago with her family and staying at the Tall Corn Motel. "I want to thank you for being here, mom," said Clinton to her 88-year-old mother. "Thanks for coming back to Iowa with me."

Dorothy Rodham never took the microphone, but told ABC News (when asked how she likes Iowa,) "I like it, it's very friendly." She also told well-wishers that "it's about time that we listen to the voice of-experience; I think it makes a difference."

President Clinton is set to hit South Carolina tomorrow and Iowa on Monday. There have been no mentions of Chelsea Clinton, who was last seen on the stage in New York celebrating her mother's 60th birthday.

Oprah is all the buzz this evening and when asked on the rope-line how Clinton would combat the mega-celebrity coming to town, the senator did not answer the question but instead moved on to sign autographs.

And this is newsworthy?

I am so very proud of Clinton. I did not even know that her mom is living with her. I have seen families visitng nursing homes. My mom used to tell us that even if she will get older, she will not allow us to put her to a nursing home. We have strong falily ties, we will never allow it to happen anyway even if she will ask us. We their children took care of them. They will stay at my sister's place. Then my other brother took them to stay with them. Then to me. We all have our turns to take care of them. Now my mom passed away, but she did not die at a nursing home. We all share taking care of our dad.

I am so very proud that the whole family are campaigning. This is what you call a family. Well, experienced family I would say. Mr Clinton, campaigning for his wife, who was our President before, who knew how it looked like to be President. Here comes the daughter and Clinton's mother. What other good examples you would like to see in this family. Well trained and educated daughter. Well, she got that from her parents.

We voters lok at a candidate that is knowleageable and experienced. We are talking about running a country, not running a showbiz or a certain State. We are smart voters. We want our country to be rebuild. We vote for someone who cares for this country, who cares for ordinary people, for lower and middle class people. During the Clinton administration, I was an average income earner, with 2 childrem, and I had never flet any hardship despite having low income. But now since Bush is the President, I am suffering. I know I am not the only who feels hardship but my friends, and families. It is so tough to see families leaving their house because they cannot afford to pay the mortgage. Christmas is coming, people cannot afford to buy things that they used to buy for their children. Only rich people can afford to buy all the things they want anytime, except us who are struggling.

We need change. We want to enjoy life. It is about time to have Clinton. I know it and feel it. We will have better life. If her husband did good during his administration, Hillary will do the same if not even better.

We need a woman president and we are ready to have her.
