Bush: Clinton Will Be Lonely on Global Tour
December 20, 2007 11:43 AM
ABC News' Kate Snow and Jennifer Duck Report: Former President Bill Clinton recently said his wife's first priority as president will be, "to send me and former President Bush and a number of other people around the world to tell them that America is open for business and cooperation again."
Asked during a White House press conference Thursday if he plans to join the good-will mission with his father and former President Clinton, President George W. Bush said, "Sounds like it's going to be a one-man trip!"
Earlier this week, a spokesperson for former President George H. W. Bush told ABC News he supports his son's foreign policy and an around the world mission with either of the Clintons has never been discussed. (Read more HERE.)
"He has never discussed an 'around-the-world mission' with either former President Bill Clinton or Senator Clinton, nor does he think such a mission is warranted since he is proud of the role America continues to play around the world as the beacon of hope for freedom and democracy," said former President George H.W. Bush's chief of staff, Jean Becker, in a written statement to ABC News.
Asked Thursday if he would ever consider such a trip during his presidency, President Bush said, "It's what I do during my presidency. I go around spreading good will and talking about the importance of spreading freedom and peace."

"....he is proud of the role America continues to play around the world as the beacon of hope for freedom and democracy," Right, speading freedom by dropping bombs and killing hundreds of thousands in Iraq and displacing millions. Yes, the Bush America obviously take the moral high ground....such as torture, spying on Americans, attacking the constitution etc, etc.

God forbid should a Republican actually do anything charitable and in the spirit of teamwork.
If Lil' Bush hadn't bungled all those natural disaster they woudln't have gone on the last trip.
Once a Repub retires he is in the armchair.. unless he needs to meet with the Saudis

I don't think Clinton will be any lonelier on tour than GWB will be after leaving office. He will be forgotten so soon that his head will spin like the girl in The Exorcist. Hey, what an idea, maybe he needs an exorcist. No one wants to remember bad times, and we certainly have had some bad times with this Bush idiot in office. Maybe he can be confined somewhere until it's time for him to leave so he can't cause any more grief for us and the world.

I hope GHWB is only saying that because it before the elections.
With that view after the election, he'd fall into the same everything for Republican anti-american stance that most of these current neo-cons have in office.
And I really would have expected better of him.

Send Bill into space!! Yes, let's name Bill Clinton the Glaxey Ambassador and send him on a mission into space..anywhere in space and take that little monkey by the name of Jimmy Carter with him. The world will be a better place once they leave.

I would have expected better of WJC. He had no business telling the world what his wife was going to order a former president to do. First of all, she can't send GHWB to do anything. And second, why did Bill Clinton say it in the first place when he knew full well that it wasn't true? Oops, I should have known better than to ask that, sorry!

Silly Libs... Uncle Bill said in his caomments that "America would be open for business again" I guess he and the former Pres. Clinton plan to sell off our jobs again. Remember NAFTA, sent our jobs to Mexico, where next? Syria, Iran and China?

Bill Clinto is a disgraced liar; he lied about former President Bush going with around the world to repair the damaged U.S. policy. Bill Clinto lied under oath and his law license was revoked. After Hillary has been disgraced in 2008 by loosing the democratic primaries, the Clintons political history will be gone forever. Thank God these two criminals will leave the U.S. political arena for better, young generation.
God bless America!

I wouldn't go making a big deal about Clinton's lies, when GWB admits to more important lies than WJC was ACCUSED of.

"I recently stopped in Thailand, to visit 3 Thai doctors who are friends of mine. The Three Thai Doctors like myself, are avid Clinton supporters. I can tell you this, The wonderful people of Thailand, are looking forward to meeting Bill Clinton and President Hillary Clinton. Bill clinton as "U.S. Roving Ambassador," will help bring positive economic change to the United States, and will defenitely, improve U.S. foreign relations."

Clinton just wants someone along for the ride so he has someone to blame when difficult questions are asked and he has no answer. Bush is wise not to be caught with this lying ##########. The Clintons started this country on a downward trend when he was in office and Pres Bush still hasn't been able to clean up his mess. As someone commented above, this country would be far better off if both Clintons and their crotchety old buddy Carter GONE! This downward trend was actually started by Carter and Bill just piled his #### right on top. Clinton would only be a detriment to the US as an ambassador, since all he would do is spew more of the Clinton lies.

"It's what I do during my presidency. I go around spreading good will and talking about the importance of spreading freedom and peace." Right!...wink, wink.
The stuff that HE goes around spreading is the stuff that I usually try to scrape off of the bottom of my shoe.

pointman says - "I can tell you this, The wonderful people of Thailand, are looking forward to meeting Bill Clinton and President Hillary Clinton." ---- You are probably right - after they saw how China bought most favorable nations status with Clinton campaign contributions... I am sure they are chomping at the bit... Hillary has already taken $300 grand in dirty money from Chinatown. The Clintons and Taiwan should be a match made in Heaven.....

GHWBush's declining of Clinton's offer is a relief to Bill. Slick Willy will definitely NOT be lonely on his worldwide tour. Don't worry, he'll get plenty of action. He doesn't need Bush the Elder cramping his style when he is trying to pick up Thai chicks.
