Christmas as a Candidate
December 19, 2007 11:02 PM
ABC News' Sunlen Miller reports: As the candidates plug in a little last-minute campaigning before the holiday, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., says he’s saving some last-minute shopping too.
Asked by a reporter at a “Toys for Tots” charity event in Londonderry, N.H. if he’d been able to do Christmas shopping he answered, “I have not. That’s what Christmas Eve is for.”
Obama says he’s leaving his wife’s present a secret to the press but he’s “counting on Santa” to help him.
His 9-year-old daughter, Malia, has been angling for an iPod. “She already has her list of songs,” Obama explained, “Most of them are Beyonce.”
What does Obama want this Christmas, besides the presidency? A little R & R.
“You know a day off watching my kids open presents is good enough for me.”
Obama will get what he asked for: he will be home in Chicago for two days over the Christmas holiday with his family. His sisters and nieces will be in town visiting.
“We’ll eat,” Obama started in describing his Christmas morning, but dropped his cell phone on the floor, causing the battery to pop out as the phone hit the cement floor, “Oops, and I’ll buy a new phone possibly.”
Obama brought two handfuls of bags filled with toys with him, as well as donated a little time, unloading toys and sorting them by the children’s age and gender.
Most of the toys already donated in the bins were from China. Obama, who at the previous event that day in Concord said he would stop all toy imports from China, assured the press that the ones he brought were not made in China, “I think it’s fair to say we checked.”

Ok, man drops his cell phone after hours and hours and hours and hours of campaigning, and says, "oops?" Strength of character + wisdom + judgment + self-actualization = Obama

Obama has my vote in 2012 would he choose to run. I feel my vote should go to Hillery now. She has put in the hard work that is required to do a very good job in this top realm.
