Clinton Doesn't Want a One-Night Stand
December 02, 2007 6:52 PM
Eloise Harper reports: Sen. Hillary Clinton, speaking in Bettendorf, Iowa, trying to convince a crowd to caucus for her, explained that she wants to be with them so that she can win Iowa in November 2008.
"I want a long term relationship," she said. "I don't want to just have a one night stand with all of you."
Clinton is trying to earn support of Iowans by launching a new theme today -- "Take your Buddy to Caucus." This is a new strategy from Clinton, who has said that most of her supporters have never been to a caucus before. The campaign has showed their video expressing how easy it is to caucus with a little humor -– including an image of Bill Clinton running on a treadmill, thinking about a hamburger and saying "exercise is hard." The video concludes "caucusing is easy." (Video can be seen here: http://www.hillaryclinton.com/video/69.aspx)
The latest Des Moines Register poll shows Clinton coming in behind Senator Obama among likely caucus-goers. Clinton is now at 25 percent, down from 29 percent, and Obama is the choice of 28 percent of likely Democratic Party caucus-goers, up from 22 percent.
"I know that this is a close race here in Iowa," Clinton said earlier today, but her campaign is committed to organize and even shovel Iowans' sidewalks in order to help them get to the caucuses.
"Let's have a raucous caucus," Clinton said to voters in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, earlier today. "It reminds me of that book 'Where the Wild Things Are,' that book I used to read to Chelsea all the time. Let the wild rumpus begin."

Uh, can ANYBODY please tell me how the smartest woman in the world can drop a line like this? I can honestly say this, no other candidate, male or female, would ever say this during a Presidential Election.

Clinton, of all people, ...using a sexual metaphor???
Does she think America has forgotten what Bill did???

A one night stand with Hillary?
Yuck! I need a shower and sedation.

Good gravy! Hillary is using sexual innuendos in her speeches to the good people of Iowa? One night stands? Does she not realize the memories that invokes of the Clinton's last 8 years in the W.H. Obama should just sit back and watch Hillary self destruct.

"I want a long term relationship," she said. "I don't want to just have a one night stand with all of you."
Probably not a great way of putting it for a woman whose long-term relationship with her husband is known for being a shallow and passionless marriage of convenience.
I'll bet most Iowans would prefer the one-night stand -- let's just hope that night isn't January 3.

Jack Lane wrote "We need a Democrat to be elected as President for Christ sake." First time I've heard of a Liberal Politico doing anything for the sake of Christ. Maybe you feel Our Lord needs to be completely forced out of the moral consciousness of our country. Yeah, I see now how all you want is to do a favor for Jesus. Good man Jack.
