Clinton Gets Last Word In 'Silly' Argument Over Who Has Most Ex-(Bill) Clinton Advisors

ABC's Eloise Harper Reports: Sen. Hillary Clinton handed out candy canes to "sweeten up the press" before holding a press availability in Milton, N.H. The topic everyone wanted to discuss  was Sen. Barack Obama's mentioning last night that he had more former Clinton advisors supporting him than Hillary Clinton did.

"Obviously we demonstrated that that wasn't accurate. Really that's not the point. You can have lists of people who are advising you, but what really matters is who is sitting at the desk in the Oval Office and who is ready to be president on day one."

Obama had asked, "Why is the national security adviser of Bill Clinton, the secretary of the Navy of Bill Clinton, the assistant secretary of state for Bill Clinton, why are all these people endorsing me?" The Clinton camp later produced a list that showed many more members of her husband's administration were supporting her.

Clinton tried to shrug off the issue today.  "I just think its just a silly question. I mean honestly it's a silly question. We have hundreds of supporters not only people who were in my husband's administration but from all over the country who have expertise, and we have far more people supporting me."

Clinton also made it clear that she was not the one who initiated this conversation. "I have not been going around talking about my advisors. When he made his claim that was easily disputed he has opened the door to this."

Clinton was reminded that Obama has made it clear that he made the decision not to vote for the Iraq war on his own with no advisors.  "Well he wasn't in the Congress at the time," Clinton said. "I think that once you're in a position of responsibility and you actually have to be counted on for what you do and what you vote for and his record is the same as many of us."

Hillary failed to read the intelligence report and gave George Bush a blank check to invade Iraq on the pretex of WMD. Hillary again voted with George Bush and Dick Chenney to declare Iran Revolutionary Guard Terrorists in preparation for a U.S. Military strike on Iran on the pretex of WMD. Hillary almost swallowed Obama when Obama said he would meet with U.S. enemies and talk senses and civility into their skull. George Bush has from time declared North Korea as an evil country and there were hint U.S. will strike North Korea. Just few weeks agao, George Bush exchanged letters with the leader of North Korea; now, both the U.S. and North Korea are working together to destroy North Korea's nuclear ambition. Did diplomacy not work? Did talking to U.S. enemy (North Korea) not difuse the tension and prevent war? Was Obama not right and Hillary wrong? Hillary Clinton is a national disgraced just as her husband disgraced thew presidency with Monica Lewinsky and lying under oath. Shame on Hillary and her disgraced husband!

Stop skewing the Pre-Iraq war intelligence. I am not a GW Bush fan but you people who fabricate this perpetual story that he lied about the WMDs (and now are dragging Hillary into it too.. I am also not a fan of her) need to grow an IQ. I am not promoting any candidates on either side at this point because I am still trying to decide for myself in an intelligent and informed manner who is the best. With that being said the Iraq war you all bring up over and over again that you don't understand the importance of, WMDs or not, need to just suck it up and deal with the truth that all politicians saw the exact same evidence and made the call to go to war.

David must be sick; the Iraq war was cost the U.S. billions of dollars. In addition, many brave young and women lost their lives and thousands have been injured. Hillary made a bad judment on the war and Americans are now paying for the judgment made by Hillary, George Bush; in short, by the Bush/Clinton families who have hypnotized the American people for straight 28 years. Shame on david and the Bush/Clinton families.

Sam I feel fine. I am actually extremely intelligent (would you like to see my last IQ test?) and very well informed. I had written a much better justification that I just realized ABC edited and truncated immensely. I do not know to what gain because it was in no way offensive or overtly argumentative... It seems they wanted to skew my comment to support Hillary who I absolutely abhor. Yes shame on her. Here is the short rehash of what I originally wrote for why I support the war now that it has happened. Regardless of the reason we went into war we have freed a people who lived under a brutal dictator and gave them the opportunity to live as we live. Free. If we leave before the job is done this will not happen. The battle in Iraq has also given us the opportunity to fight Al Qaeda on their front. The longer we are there, the longer they will dedicate their resources to fight us there and not in New York, LA, DC or wherever. Yes we are still at threat here but the Al Qaeda fighters that have lined up in Iraq could all be on planes to the US instead of over there. On a side note I agree the cost has been great financially.. but do not dishonor the soldiers gift of service. You ask any number of soldiers (do you forget the men and women who serve are overwhelmingly Republican?)if they want to be in Iraq and they will tell you they want to be there. They will say they have a job to do.

David, I have never heard a truly brilliant person caught in a situation where he found it necessary to claim he was "extremely intelligent." Regurgitating the comments of Dana Perino does not make your argument sound. We have a right to continue to hold Hillary, Bush, and Congress responsible for the obviously horrible decision they made as long as our young Americans are still being killed in Iraq. Your argument is shallow and it is full of the slogans and crafty rhetoric that allowed Americans to be duped into the absolute urgency of this war in the first place. You say Iraqis are "free." Free from violence? Free from fear? We could have given Iraq the freedom you speak of without rushing into a war in the manner we did. You say this war allows us to fight Al Qaeda on their front? Al Qaeda has its strongest ties in Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan. The reason bin Laden started to hate us in the first place was our continued occupation in Saudi Arabia after the finish of the Saudi/Iraq war. He considered long-term occupation an act of aggression worthy of his modified definition of jihad. Do you really think there are not 15 Saudi Arabians (15 of 18 hijackers were Saudi, none Iraqi) in this world that could attack an American city again? You think our presence in Iraq is preventing more Saudis in Al Qaeda from attacking us? In reality, it is allowing Al Qaeda to facilitate a culture of fear and hatred towards America. And they also have a disaster in Iraq that allows for easier recruitment. And finally, why are you even using the phrase "do not dishonor the soldiers?" Did Sam mention anything that dishonors the troops? The anti-Iraq War position wants to get our troops out of harms way, and save lives. The anti-Iraq War position wants to use the military more effectively, instead of concentrating the war against violent jihad in Iraq. Our troops and resources are extremely low in Afghanistan, but few mention that front anymore. Everyone supports the troops. My girlfriend's brother served two tours in Iraq. You don't think I support him, his life, and his family? Please stop using the "support the troops" slogan as a way to scare fellow Americans into continuing a policy that was misguided from the start.

Patrick, I agree with much of what you said but I interpret SOME of it a little differently. I have regurgitated nothing by the way. I make my own opinions and do not trust the media.. even the conservative media. I am a slightly right leaning centrist so my arguments may be of similar mind set to the people you quoted but I do honestly do not know the people you mentioned.
I know Iraq is not the ideal front but do not be naive. Al Qaeda in Iraq is not mostly Iraquis. They are Arab recruits from many surrounding countries and Al Qaeda is calling for all "brothers" to come join the fight in Iraq so yes we are fighting them. I agree with you that the resources we are using would have been much better redirected at Afghanistan as well as two other particular Middle Eastern countries. I think Saddam was evil.. but on a global scale just smoke and mirrors. We can't ignore that we are there though and pulling out would mean collapse of that country. If all these extreme leftists can rally and protest for action in Darfur, Rwanda, etc then why do you all argue to pull out of Iraq when it is no different? When there is actually possibility for accomplishment. What happens when a SWAT team raids the wrong house and destroys it? Would you expect the local government to help rebuild that house or leave the family in the streets? My main disagreement with you is that you believe Al Qaeda when they say that they do what they do because of our occupation in the ME. That is absolutely false. That is an excuse for a rally cry but what they are doing now, Islamic extremists have been doing since its conception. The motto is convert or die by the sword - not stay out of our land or die by the sword. They see these opportunities as a way to overtake the governments of countries in crisis and establish their brand of Islamic rule.. as they did in Afghanistan.
As far as supporting the troops, I continue to use that slogan and I think others who truly understand what is going on do as well because we support what the military thinks is best. We need to listen to them and not to a bunch of raving extreme leftists on youtube or a grief stricken mother who was used as a puppet by the liberal media. Patrick I am sure you support your family and your arguments are very level headed and respectable. The problem is there are many leftists who are truly unpatriotic.
