Clinton's Foreign Policy Argument

ABC News' Eloise Harper reports: Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY,  on a day focused on  foreign policy, made veiled references to the lack of experience her competitors have, but never mentioned them by name. Fresh off an interview with ABC News' Cynthia McFadden where Clinton explained, "We've gone through trying to decide who would you rather have a beer with, and look at the results. I think we want to say, well, who would be the best president?"

Clinton hammered home  her point Thursday at Grundy Center, Iowa, saying "it is tempting any time things seem quieter for a minute on the international front to think that we don't need a president who is up to speed on foreign affairs and military matters," Clinton said.

"Well that's the kind of logic that got us George Bush in the first place," she continued, "experience in foreign affairs is crucial for ending the war in Iraq, averting war in Iran, negotiating a Middle East peace and dealing with North Korea."

But Sen. Barack Obama's, D-Ill., campaign was quick to respond: “While Sen. Clinton takes a break from her ‘likability tour’ to go back on the attack, Sen. Obama, the only major candidate who opposed both the Iraq war and the rush to war in Iran, will continue to demonstrate why he has the judgment to turn the page on the Bush-Cheney foreign policy,” said Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton.

Clinton stood on stage with former military leaders as well as former diplomats -– and listened to them as they praised her work while she was First Lady. Some of them cited specific examples as Clinton watched on off to their side.

Today is the final day of Clinton's every County Counts tour –- and the emphasis is strongly focused on Clinton's foreign policy know-how. Clinton has refrained from attackering her opponents all week but is still trying to draw contrasts with them -– just a little more subtly that she had in recent  weeks.

All the Obama camping like to do is to counter punch with sounds bites; but when it comes for Obama to explain the issues in depth he is lost or going back to the same script he learned from his advisers. The fact is that other than growing up in Indonesia and few trips to Kenya, Obamas foreign experience is "zero" and for him to try to pretend he knows it all is just dishonest, calculated and disingenuous.
Imagine if he wins the nomination which is very very hard for that to happen; but in the case he does, the republicans will have the best chance to win the White House again.

Hillary should look in the mirror before opening her mouth.

So why does Ron Paul recieve more military donations than any other candidate? Well, because Hillary and most of the other candidates will not have the troops home by 2013. She caters to the military complex, and all the other specials interest lobbyist.
It time for a real change. Anybody but the Clinton / Bush clan.

I concur with Denise; Hillary is a disgraced. She has never held any executive office in her life. Being First Lady does not make one "experienced" in both domestic and foreign policies. Nancy Reagan and Laura Bush have never claimed to be experienced because of their First Lady status. Hillary has not introduced any major legislation in the Senate since beign a senator. She refused to release her records relating to her activities as both Arkansas First lady and the U.S. First Loady. She claimed her experience during those years, and yet refused to release those records for the American People to evaluate her credencials. She is a disgraced. United States is not a monarchy whereby ascency to the presidency is by inheritance. Bush/Clinton families have either been a vice president or president doe the last straigh 28 years. It is time we turn the page. The American People can no longer be foold by these corrupt families.

You know it is amazing. Hillary claims that she has the foreign policy experience and Obama does not. She claims Obama would be revisiting the Bush experience.

I would feel like that argument made more sense if she had read the NIE, had not voted to authorize war against Iraq and lastly if Obama had not opposed the war from the start.

HRC is experienced... in attacking without any basis in fact.
