Did Biden offend Obama again at Racial Forum?
December 02, 2007 5:53 AM
ABC News' Eloise Harper, Raelyn Johnson and Sunlen Miller Report: At an event focused on minority issues--the Black & Brown forum in Des Moines, Iowa, Sen. Joe Biden D-Del., raised eyebrows when he answered a question about hate crimes. Citing the Jena 6, Sen. Barack Obama D-Ill., asked Biden if he would help him strengthen the enforcement of hate crimes legislation in the Senate as he would prioritize the issue in his presidency.
Biden responded, "I would be happy to make you the head of the civil right division of my administration."
When Sen. Obama appeared on camera following the remark, he appeared unmoved by the Biden proposal. Reporters watching the forum were a bit taken back by the comment and instantly remembered a well publicized off-color remark Biden made last February sizing up Obama saying, "I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy," adding "I mean, that's a storybook, man."

We have a lot of democrats with nicknames that indicate mental problems. Greasy Joe, Hanoi John, Leaky Leahy, Drunken Swimmer Ted, Slick Willie and Cold Cash Jefferson just to name a few. Not a lot of difference in a democrat, a socialist or a communist. All are do as I say, not as I do types. Something stinks in the democrat party and it's not dead fish.

Look at the facts. The Jena 6 gang committed the hate crime. Six black hoodlums attack a white kid from behind and send him to the hospital.
Obama, how did you get through law school?

How silly. Sen. Biden is not a racist. The comment was appropriate considering the context.

I find Biden both racist and sexist. I also think he has no idea that he is either. He just thinks and talks like the typical white male over fifty.

I think Obama may be the smartest (academic wise) candidate in the race. He was THE TOP graduate from Harvard Law school despite one idiot's comment. "Posted by: Scrapiron". (How did he graduate law school)..
I'm not even an Obama supporter, I'm republican but I'm not blind either...
He is a fresh face and the most intelligent candidate in the race, however he is too new and I need more experience. There isn't a long enough track record for him. However, if he were elected, I wouldn't be as bad as "Flip Flop Hillary"... At least I know what Obama believes, but when it all comes down to it. I'm voting for Mike H.

Obama/Biden is the ticket to win in '08. I think the media is trying to make a story where there isn't one. If Obama had been truly offended he would have said as much. If Biden were truly a bigot he'd probably not be so good on foreign affairs. We don't need 'infotainment' reporting.
