Elizabeth Edwards Greets Swarm of Obama Supporters
December 15, 2007 5:34 PM
ABC News' Raelyn Johnson reports: Many presidential campaigns set up shop in the same office building -- but one has to wonder if in Waterloo, Iowa the Edwards and Obama camps are sitting too close for comfort.
Elizabeth Edwards and actor Kevin Bacon were visiting the local office to greet staffers and volunteers. As Elizabeth was leaving, swarms of Obama supporters were heading into the Franklin Street office building where Obama also has an office.
Knowing they weren't there for her husband's campaign, Elizabeth walked over to greet Obama's supporters. "Look me in the eye and shake my hand, we're on the same team," she told an older gentleman.
"I bet you'd look even more handsome smiling. Try it," said Elizabeth after seeing the look on one man's face.
To some she was unknown.
"I'm Elizabeth Edwards, John's wife," she said. "I appreciate everybody who's working hard to make a difference in this country. I think that probably includes you guys."

Elizabeth Edwards is a class act. She would not greet Obama's supporter's with anything less than cordiality. All on the campaign trail should have her honesty and fortitude. John is very lucky to have her. And she him. John, also is an extremely nice person. They compliment each other. It wouldn't upset me tho' if Elizabeth should meet up with Oprah and give her the cold shoulder. Oprah, is not a class act. She can bring in the crowds, but that's all about Oprah, no Obama. I had thought I liked Obama, but seeing Oprah has created a distinct unsureness about who Obama really is. But Elizabeth, you go girl!

Elizabeth is always like that, naturally amiable, and cordial. She is very straightforward, and as gifted intellectually as any candidate.

Why all the hate against Oprah? She is no different than any other person endorsing a candidate. Just more famous. And how does that reflect badly on Obama? The argument is a non-sequitor and methinks reflects jealousy on the part of the other camps.
That said, Elizabeth Edwards approach to the Obama office was a very nice gesture. We are on the same team and have a lot in common.

I see people are still reeling over Oprah. Gosh, jealousy is so pathetic. LOL
