Obama Blasts Edwards Over Third Party Groups
December 22, 2007 2:38 PM
Barack Obama is hitting hard on John Edwards over 527 groups, the independent groups that raise money for candidates without disclosure.
"John yesterday said that he didn't believe in 527s," Obama said, "He said he's opposed to them - we found out today that there is an outside group spending $750,000- – just bought three quarters of a million dollars worth of television time – and the individual who's running the group used to be John Edwards's campaign manager. So you can't say yesterday you don't believe in 'em, and today you have three quarters of a million dollars being spent for you. You can’t just talk the talk."
Edwards said yesterday that "The way the law exists today is you have no control…You're not allowed by law to have contact or to coordinate with 527s. So can you discourage it? Yes, and I do."
Obama was referring to Nick Baldick of the Edwards campaign, who is part of "Alliance for a New America," a 527 group formed from SEIU affiliates advocating issues of John Edwards. The group made an ad buy yesterday for an ad set to run on December 26th, with an anticipated positive message towards John Edwards.
Obama added, "I don't just talk the talk, I've walked the walk, I've been doing this all my life and John does not have the same record," and boasted about his involvement in passing the ethic reform legislation in Congress this year."
In response to Obama's attack, Senator Edwards issued a paper statement that said, among other things, "Of course, if Senator Obama is serious about real change, I hope he and Senator Clinton will finally end their silence and join with me in calling on the Democratic Party to end the influence of Washington lobbyists by once and for all rejecting their money."

Edwards is most dishonest politician I have ever seen. He has apologized for all his votes in the Senate and now this. No wonder he appears inauthentic in the debates.

No surprise that it continues to get ugly among the 3 "frontrunners." Please, Iowa voters, give Joe Biden the chance we need to make him Commander in Chief. He's a candidate we deserve - for all the right reasons - not simply the "least worst" among several choices.

Obama is desperate to win Iowa, so he lies and brings up John Edwards to distract from his corporate hob nobbing, rich media mogels friends such as Oprah,Wall Street and his alignment with the Washington insiders. The fact is by his own admission was indulging in drugs in his youth, how do we know what he does now. He and Bush have a lot in common. I don't want a lying person who doesn't have the guts to vote on the issues, but claims he's against them, if so, then why doesn't he vote.

Here we go again, Obama is crying out loud about Edwards. the bact is that he was the first one who started the negative campaign against Clinton, his campaign have to retract few times -but the press don't cover that-, his 527s were sending out mail well before. He gets really desperate and tasty when is questioned, or someone challenge him in his own game. What a wimp! I can't imagine if he ever gets the nomination - which his chances are very remote- the way the Republican party will tore him apart. Then, he can't cry; because will be fair game.
diogu,-- for you to call Edwards the most dishonest politician is a non sense. Dishonest to me is a group of people trying to bring up or elevate a totally inexperienced politician to the level of a leadership he is not worth just yet, worked for it or deserves it. Now to me thats cheating the people, dishonestly trying to win the President foir their own personal game. Obama talk about change; but as he did here in Illinois he never explains the things well, or even fight for it as a true leader, he always have had good "godfather" using him as the front man.
Dishonest, how much money is getting Obama from corporate America? millions of dollars, why corporate America and big power guys are pouring money into his campaign? maybe because they see him as the easiest target to manipulate and the easy ride to hold into power. Dishonet, is to trying to be who you aren't; why is he hiding all his "loyal" friends that marched with him here in south Chicago? why is he hiding Jessie Jackson, Sharpton and all the other black Americans? There is way to much we don't know about Obama, and he is trying to get away from scrutiny trying to use the Media such as NBC, CNBC, all those celebrity shows, etc that are constantly focusing int he negatives of the other democratic candidates while failing to scrutinize Obama records. Give me a break! No matter how much "free friendly press coverage" he gets now, he will not be nominated and will not be the President.

Peter Paul vs Clitons
She has defendend her experience, strenght in the process of this campaign so far which she had claimed as her qualification capability to becomes the next America president.
Since Hilary Cliton begarn her campaign bid for the white house top job,the media has been the leverage to cover up her dirty deals in the past while she was thefirst lady.CNN,FOXNEWS had played their role perfectelt well in the defence of Hilary campaign machine;I do hope and pray CNN and FONEWS dont go broke when Hilary is not elected or nominated as president.
United states is a country where over 100million elligible voters will take part on the next presidential ellection.
