The Clintons Attend Church in Iowa

ABC News' Eloise Harper reports: Former President Bill Clinton and  his wife Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y.,     came in through the back door at
Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, in Waterloo, Iowa. The church is situated in an African-American part of town -- and the crowd was small in the large room.

F.T. Whitfield introduced the former president and mentioned a VH1 program he had seen where President Clinton had given someone his tie. Whitfield reminded the crowd that he liked ties.

Bill Clinton took the stage and gave a slow and steady speech praising Sen. Clinton. "I want to  thank the people of Iowa for giving my wife a hearing," the former president said. He also reminded the crowd what a giver he thought his wife was: "I think that we want that sort of giver for our country," he said.

After speaking Clinton removed his tie and handed it to the preacher.

Sen. Clinton gave a more humanizing version of her stump speech, and was well received by the crowd. After speaking the couple sat together off to the side -- President Clinton slung his arm over his wife as they swayed to the music in their seats.

Afterwards the Clintons shook hands -- President Clinton gladly held a baby for pictures -- Sen. Clinton prefered to have the mother hold her baby for the photo. The president left early to go and attend other events around Iowa. Some roads in Iowa have been closed due to weather and it was unclear if any events will be cancelled due to the conditions.

SO What? Who Cares! Why is this News?
By the way isn't it a violation of
"the separation of church and state" to make political speeches in churches?
Does "separation of church and state"
only apply to Republicans?
Is Hillary Clinton a member of the
Christian Left?

Churches are allowed to host political meetings as long as they do not formally endorse a candidate and do apply the same standards in allowing candidates to speak.

I think it's interesting that Hilary wont hold a baby for a picture? Is she too good, or maybe she had too much to drink and did not want to drop the child, or maybe she dislikes children. it certianly speaks volumes about her character.

And why did they attend a baptist church. they dont have any of the same values in common.

Did the place burn down because the Devil surely was there with that pair.

Volumes about her character? For not holding a child? WHAT!?!

Maybe she was feeling a little under the weather. Why don't you ASK HER?

We all should be, however, VERY concerned over Barack Obama's vote on PRO CHOICE and Woman's Rights issues in his home state. His track record, as SHORT as it IS, is VERY consistent, "NO SHOW" and/or "PRESENT". THAT speaks VOLUMES in my to his TOTAL lack of a stand to this CORE issue affecting ALL WOMEN.

In my view, he is playing BOTH SIDES trying to gain the conservative vote, while "saying" he is a DEMOCRAT, on this HUGE issue. He sure as HELL does NOT speak for me, or represent me, if this his position.

Also, which candidate has the NOW ENDORSEMENT?

Senator Clinton does.

"Volumes about her charactor" U have to be kidding! How two faced and consciencely dead can she be? I bet she doesn't believe in Jesus and isn't Baptist. Ugly to the bone!!!!!!!!

ccount: Wow, Hillary has the NOW endorsement!
I guess she got that for letting her husband walk all over her, disgrace the office of the President, and for the fact that he had an affair with an intern barely out of her Teens!
