'You and I' No More?
December 04, 2007 4:11 PM
ABC News' Eloise Harper Reports: Less than 30 days before the critical Iowa caucuses, there's a shake-up in the Clinton presidential campaign. Hillary Clinton and Celine Dion appear to be parting ways.
For months, the soprano headlined Clinton's, D-N.Y., campaign appearances as Dion's "You and I" served as the former first lady's campaign theme song.
"High above the mountains, far across the sea," bellowed Dion over loudspeaker after loudspeaker.
"I can hear your voice calling out to me, Brighter than the sun and darker than the night, I can see your love shining like a light," the Canadian songstress would sing as the aspiring American president took or departed the political stage.
At first, Dion and Clinton hit a all the right notes, as they're likely to say in the inevitable VH1 Behind the Music special. Brought together in an inventive and original contest, "You and I" was unveiled as the people's choice for Clinton's destiny (not child's) filled run for the White House.
The song played on, from Iowa to South Carolina, without missing a beat. But, now, only the sounds of silence can be heard from the Clinton camp's Celine CD.
Instead on the trail these days, Big Head Todd and the Monsters are in and their "Blue Sky" is seemingly the campaign's favorite as the New York Senator enters and exits the stage.
The Clinton camp had no response when pressed by ABC News to explain why the sudden change from chick-favorite Vegas-anchored Dion to the masculine, Colorado-native Monsters.
Fortunately, for just these circumstances, VH1 has created some consoling music selections to document this critical juncture in the 2008 race: the top 40 break-up songs ever.

How about a little 'dazed and confused' by Led Zep.....or is that just all part of her act?

Eh? Hillary who?

Ah, the musical tributes are limitless, aren't they? Well, as long as she can never use "Hail to the Chief" (Chiefess? Chieftest?) oh well, you know what I mean. We can continue to hope!!! It's getting more fun everyday.

Hillary.....Oy vey!! What a morsel of moral ineptitude this woman? is!! She and her husband are so crooked they will have to screw them into the ground when they pass away. You lefties deserve her!!

"itch is Back" was tailor made for her.
"I entertain by picking brains,
Sell my soul by dropping names"

how about a 'new' theme song for hillary, my vote goes to "crash course in brain surgery" by Metallica. or even better "south of heaven" by slayer. or "highway to hell" by ACDC. anyone??

Remember these famous words "I did not have sex with that woman Ms Lewinsky". Here is the President of the United States lying to the American people. Then Hillary takes it and uses it as the poor wife that never knew he was fooling around. Then tells the American people he has an addiction to sex. Give me a break.

How 'bout the old Elton John standard - "the $itch is back"
Posted by: JJ | Dec 4, 2007 8:26:13 PM
I spoke with Mick Fleetwood recently and told him I'd never forgive him for the Clinton administration. Remember , "Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow'?
I love it when the wheels come off.

Oh, come on now! We need Hillary in the general election so she can get her %$& kicked and finally, yes FINALLY, go awayyyyy!
Posted by: regis49 | Dec 4, 2007 8:33:29 PM
Clearly Elton John's classic "The $itch is Back" is the obvious favorite. What does it tell you about a presidential candidate (of either party) who is viewed so negatively by so many?

Why not change her theme song? She has changed her theme on mud-slinging. Just weeks ago she was saying that her concern was only for the American people and not mud-slinging against her democratic rivals. Now with the change in polls she has forgotten the American people, but obviously not their vote. Just further proof that the only one thing Hillary is for, is Hillary. She has flip-flopped on everything and now even her campaign theme song.

Ha Ha Ha. Just you wait. They don't call Bill Clinton the comeback kid for nothing. Hillary will win in Iowa and be in the Whitehouse in Jan 09

We haven't even had the first primary and I am so sick of listening to the Clinton spin and scandals - not to mention their attempted character assassinations of anyone who disagrees with them.
We have so many serious problems in the world and all we have is the Clintons worrying about themselves - and Barack Obama's kindergarten days.
We have so many good people to elect to public office for the Presidency on down without resorting to the Clintons. Let's exercise our rights as Americans and leave the Clintons in the past where they belong.

I never liked Bill Clinton but I have to say this one positive thing about him; when it comes to honesty, integrity and character he is head and shoulders above his wife.

Get real! Does she really think that people are dumb enough to put her into the WH based on a theme song? She is toast!
Posted by: topaz | Dec 4, 2007 8:42:17 PM
How about "Communication Breakdown" by Led Zeplin? I suppose that after Hillary gets her &$* kicked in the primaries Bill will say that he never supported her in the first place. Just please go away already.

What was the title song to "Taming of the Shrew"?
Posted by: agnus | Dec 4, 2007 8:42:42 PM
Hillary was never a woman of any stature, I live in NYC and I am glad to say that I never voted for her when she ran for the senate both times, just because she can win in NY dont mean that she can win nationally. Here is my prediction, Hillary will never be president.
Like I've said before, as a flag waving, bible touting Republican that if Hillary is the Democratic nominee that I will vote for the Devil over that FemiNAZI Hillary. She is the only person that can unite the Republican party.
