Belvis the Black Elvis Visits Hillary
January 30, 2008 12:19 PM
ABC News' Eloise Harper Reports: Senator Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., was serenaded at a restaurant in Little Rock, Arkansas - twice - by Belvis, the Black Elvis.
Watch the VIDEO HERE.
Singing in full Elvis costume - white rhinestone shirt, sunglasses and all - he belted out, "Its one for the money, two for the show, and you can do it Hillary, go, go, go! Now don't you let them give you the blues. You can do anything with those...." He paused... Clinton inserted, "black suede shoes."
"Its all Hillary baby," Belvis told reporters.
Why Clinton? We asked.
Belvis waxed nostalgic about Bill Clinton's time as Arkansas governor.
"When I was a kid we used to play hide and seek at the State Capitol, and he was having a press conference," said Belvis.
Belvis says as a child, he posed a question to Gov. Clinton.
"I said, 'how come the white kids get bused in my community, but we got to walk to go to school?' And he said 'really?' ....Three weeks later we had buses."
Wednesday, candidate Hillary Clinton left the event with peach cobbler in hand.
"Were going to take it to the plane and we are going to heat it up and we are going to serve it," she said.
Clinton stayed true to her word, serving the cobbler herself and sharing it with the press corps on the plane.

So has Bill, all over the country.

This stuff is good to know. It is a shame they turned the campaign into one about HER instead of about the PEOPLE.
That win at all cost and one stupid mistake after another was a huge turn-off, thus my support is gone forever.
I can't but feel we NOW have a total and complete picture of the Clinton's. They have showed us things about themselves people only reveal in private.
My sense of integrity and morality just will not let me go back to supporting or voting for her.
There is no dislike or hate for her or BILL. There is principle, integrity, morals, values, etc. I simply cannot do another round of finger wagging and false allegations against their enimies to make up for their own wrong doings.
Gender aside, I just won't be able to do it after all. May the Gods, Saints and who-ever else watch over this country especially if she will be the nominee....

I remember going to a Belvis concert back when I was a teenager.

If you don't want to vote for Hilary, just don't. But all of the prevaricating is just to much. This is a heartwarming story that reveals a lot about both of the Clinton's true nature and compassion. To STILL want to find negativity in it is simply narrow-mindedness. Try Obama's speech in Denver today out for size and then tell me who is divisive. Good grief! Some of you people wouldn't like the woman if she gave you a kidney. I know, I know, you wouldn't take it anyway.

This is a great story! It shows that Hillary and Bill have really done positive things, and have touched people personally with their generousity and their commitment to giving all Americans a chance to succeed. During the time I spent in Arkansas, I found it to be a very friendly place. The fact that the Clintons are respected by so many Arkansans is telling. And I think Hillary should point more to her Arkansas roots because it would bring out more of her hummanity, and display her personal side.
Go Hillary!
