ABC News' Eloise Harper Reports: Senator Clinton made her first debut on the press bus today - carrying a white coffee pot.  "Maybe we'll toast tomorrow night but tonight, for now, we have coffee."

Clinton, who rarely speaks to the reporters, thanked the members of the press for being with her. ""A lot of you have been away from home and away from families and away from significant others and away from what your life usually is and I just want to say thank you, and I don't know about you but for me its been a great experience."

Clinton then asked who would be in charge of passing out the coffee and pastries. When she discovered it was Phil Singer, the deputy communications director and fill-in press secretary for the day, Clinton shrugged and said "sorry" Clinton continued "you know he's not the person I would put in charge of this particular project." Clinton said, to some chuckles heard through the bus. "The thing about Phil is he is constantly surprising me - I don't know about you but he is constantly surprising me."

Clinton told reporters that she would see them at the next stop, and with that Clinton was out the door and heading to the airport.

Here's the politicos take on the same event: LOL

Hillary on the press bus

Hillary stepped onto the parked press bus in Indianola for about 90 seconds to deliver bagels and coffee, and I'm not sure what this says about Clinton and the press — the chill, I think, comes from both sides — but it was a strange moment. She expressed her sympathies that we're away from our families and "significant others," tried a joke at the expense of her press secretary, and paused. Nobody even shouted a question, whether because of the surprise, the assumption that she wouldn't actually answer, or the sheer desire to end the encounter.

One reporter compared the awkwardness to running unexpectedly into an ex-girlfriend.

"Maybe we should go outside and warm up," said another, as Clinton exited into the freezing air.

Wow, that shot at Singer sure is surprising. Wonder what she really meant by that? Hillary waits until 24 hours before her first defeat to get go all warm and fuzzy with the media? Maybe Singer should have suggested this coffee clatch back in March?

I would certainly like to know who exactly was on that bus. It would be helpful to know which "reporters" were so unprofessional to descend to jr. high "mean girls"

Isn't it their job to cover the candidates without bias as much as possible. And how much of what they write or speak are we to believe? Not much, I'd say.

Pitiful. And people wonder why Sen. Clinton shies away from them.
