The fact is that Obama has stayed above the fray. Maybe the press would give the Clinton's a bit more positive coverage if they has something positive to talk about. Hill and Bill were co-presidents, to hear her brag about it, from 1993-2001. Bush the second wil have been president from 2001-2009. If Clinton wins two terms, that will mean BUSH-CLINTON-BUSH-CLINTON FOR 36 YEARS!!!! 36 YEARS is too much!!! We cannot fix this country with a re-hash, a re-run, a has-been!!!! That is what the sign 'No Clinton Dynasty' at the King march means. BTW, LBJ refused to support voting rights provisions of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Dr. King kept up public pressure, focused attention on bloody voter suppression in the South, and forced LBJ to support the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Hillary was a Goldwater Girl at the time. Her demeaning and innacurate comments about MLK were just about playing the race card against Obama. It's a good thing her 'plane was delayed'. She doesn't belong in a King march.

God! So many Clinton campaign staff on here workin' it. I am in Nevada. I got seven calls last week all purporting to be from the Obama campaign telling my my caucus address. Five of them were wrong. Only when I called the Obama campaign office directly myself did I get an accurate answer. Also, the two calls I got from Obama headquarters staff correctly identified my caucus location. There was LOTS OF FUNNY BUSINESS last week. I mean, I was being told to go to locations over ten miles from me. . . . and to "be there by 11:30 AM." Point: you had to be there by 11:00 AM.

I'm not sure you intended it this way, but drawing a parallel between "racism" and "feminism" is pretty ignorant. "Racism" is unjust discrimination on the basis of race; "feminism" is a cause on behalf of gender equality (or against unjust discrimination on the basis of sex/gender).

More generally, the descent of political discourse to accusations of racism and sexism, whichever way they cut, will benefit no one except the right wing of the spectrum. Why is it that the left constantly self-implodes through petty divisiveness?

Being female isn't Hillary's problem, its being a cold, calculating, power-mad opportunist masquerading as a bleeding heart while Bill cleans up for her that has people willing to vote for McCain or Bloomberg if she becomes the Dem nominee. what I am sure about is that when someone compares feminism to racism, they misunderstand the substance, history and objectives of feminism. As someone who clearly cares about the politics of gender, I would think you'd agree on this point.

Also, I think you've misinterpreted my response to your original post, which was not aiming to put you on the defensive. Generally, I think the misogyny underlying much of the anti-Hillary sentiment is just as reprehensible as the racism behind the Barack-is-a-radical-muslim smears. And I think you are correct that gender has taken a backseat to race in the media coverage--my point is that, for better or for worse, the Clintons want it like this. Now, the following may be a lamentable fact about US politics, but there is a reason both Barack and Hillary have worked to neutralize the questions of race and gender, respectively, in order to broaden their appeal (except in cases where being African-American or being female works to their immediate advantage). Hillary wants to be pigeonholed as the 'female candidate' as little as Barack wants to be perceived as the 'black candidate.' So when debating this whole 'race card' issue, it's important to consider who it benefits and who's behind it--and in both cases, it's more likely to be Clinton than Obama.

Cannot understand why this country is so engross in Race. The the eys of God, there is nothing but one people. COlor of the skin may be different but in truth be bleed the same, eat the same, shelter the same. The basic necessities of life is waht all people in the universe try to achieve. to this effect, society and its norm has made this distinction of color (black and white, yellow and green, pink and blue). Honestly, if we all sit down and distinguish the real color we all find that white is white and black is black and now human being is white as a sheet of paper and black darkness.

America, it is time to quite living in the past - isolate this ideology of race is a factor that determines ones fate. No one is better than the other, start thinking outside the box for the future is upon us and to blind to see it. What ever decision we make this coming election will live with us for the rest of our born lives. Therefore my adice to America is vote for someone not because of the color of his or her skin but by their qualities, honesty, and truthfulness.

We held an extravagant mlk day parade in our downtown this morning and the scene was similar to the festivities reported above. Hundreds cheering on behalf of Obama without a Clinton supporter in sight.

I would just like to say that I believe the Press has favored Mr. Barack Obama who is somewhat qualified but lacks the experience. I would really like to get to the issues but I do not believe this is going to happen. We need Healthcare for all Americans and education for our children not like todays policy no child left behind because they are left behind. Mrs. Hillary Clinton is also qualified and has shown it in the Senate. The people from the state of New York can really testify as to how Mrs. Clinton's has helped them.
