ABC News' Kate Snow, Susan Kriskey and Eloise Harper Report: Senator Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., speaking to a small business hosting a discussion on the economy in Las Vegas, NV – made it a point to respond to Senator Barack Obama, D-Illi., who said recently, “I think it’s fair to say that the Republicans were the party of ideas for a pretty long chunk of time there over the last 10-15 years in the sense that they were challenging conventional wisdom.”

Clinton reacted, saying to a small crowd in Nevada with more reporters than audience members, "That's not the way I remember the last ten to fifteen years.  I don't think it's a better idea to privatize social security. I don't think it's a better idea to try to eliminate the minimum wage. I don't think it's a better idea undercut health benefits and to give drug companies the right to make billions by providing prescription drugs to Medicare recipients.  I don't think it s a better idea to shut down the government to drive us into debt."

Clinton added, "I think we know what needs to be done in America and I think we are ready to do it. I'm ready to lead on day one."

Clinton also responded to today's economic news – saying that she thought President Bush's plan did not go far enough. Clinton sent out a statement earlier today that said, "Unfortunately the Bush plan shortchanges 50 million Americans who most need an economic shot in the arm."

Clinton is making a blitz around the state on the final day before the Nevada caucuses – trying to increase support. This evening Clinton will be in Las Vegas joined by President Clinton, who has been campaigning on her behalf around the state.

ok, why are we reading a story about Clinton at an event hat had more reporters than attendees regarding a comment from an Obama event that was not covered at all?

Obama sounds tired and stupid. Nothing was great about the last 15 years unless your last name is Bush. What a dope for saying that

Bill Clinton
"Hillary and I will always remember President Ronald Reagan for the way he personified the indomitable optimism of the American people, and for keeping America at the forefront of the fight for freedom for people everywhere," their statement said.

Obama! Don't forget to mention your war vote--you know, the one where you didn't actually have to go on record and vote (Present!)

The republicans don't give you time to parse your statements. If you want to play in the big leagues, than start acting like a big league player.

And stop the stand-up routine. Did you watch the news today? There are more important things going on than you getting a couple of laughs from the audience. Remember, people lauged *with* Bush in the beginning, too.

I've found ABC News coverage of the Democratic race as of late very biased towards the Clinton campaign. Time and time again -- this story included -- you've omitted LARGE portions from quotes, commentary, etc. to cast Hillary Clinton in a favorable light. I agree 100% with Louis' posting -- you have covered an event that had more press than attendees. Tsk... Since the Debates hosted by Mr. Gibson, it's apparent that you are cynical, at best, regarding Mr. Obama's campaign. I'm not even an Obama supporter, but you've certainly lost me as a viewer.

If I read this story correctly the quote being attributed to Barack reads "The republicans were the party of ideas" NOT BETTER IDEAS. Where does Clinton comeup with Barack saying anything about the Republicans having BETTER IDEAS. He's 100% correct in what he said and his meaning is clear. They have proposed a number of ideas that certainly have challenged conventional wisdom and I might ad, reasonable thinking. Come on Hillary, if you're going to quote, at least get it right.

I agree with TP and GC, it is clear the press is twisting everything in favor of Hillary. ABC especially seem to be going out of their way for her. What gives? I also don't understand why she and her supporters are STILL complaining seeing how much she is benefiting? I wasn't an Obama supporter before but I am now.

But I don't get it. Just last month, Hillary called Reagan one of her favorite presidents.

The republicans haven't settled on a candidate yet. Room for Obama?

I agree with GC, based on the information presented by ABC here, Hillary entirely missed Barack's point when she inserted the word, "better", in her own mind.

Both parties obviously have ideas, so one has to infer, as future President Clinton did, that Obama was claiming that the Republicans of the last 10-15 years were the Party of better ideas, or good ideas. And she was correct in arguing that the ideas of the Republicans have not been good ideas, or better ideas.

Obama never said the GOP was a party of "good" ideas.

Obama’s efforts to connect to the Republican Party, specifically Bush, and Dick Chaney, of the Halliburton Company, dates back to the Presidents Grandfather, Prescott Bush, and indeed Chaney was once an executive officer of Halliburton.

The American military pounds Iraq with Artillary, bombs, and the like, destroying large sections of cities, and infra-structures, then Halliburton comes in to rebuild. Halliburton and Halliburton associated companies have raked in ten’s of billions.

Obama is just like the BIG HALIBURTAN. Haliburton has contracted to build detention centers in the U.S. similiar to the one in Quantanammo Bay, Cuba. Halliburton does nothing to earn the Two Dollars for each meal an American Serviceman in Iraq eats.

Halliburton was scheduled to take control of the Dubai Ports in The United Arab Emiirate. The deal was canceled when Bush was unable to affect the transfer of the American Ports.

Now we see what some might suspect as similiar financial escapading from the Democrats.

Two years ago, Iraq’s Ministry of Electricity gave a $50 million contract to a start-up security company - Companion- owned by now-indicted businessman (TONY REZKO) Tony Rezko and a onetime Chicago cop, Daniel T. Frawley, to train Iraqi power-plant guards in the United States. An Iraqi leadership change left the deal in limbo. Now the company, Companion Security, is working to revive its contract.
Involved along with Antoin “Tony” Rezco, long time friend and neighbor of Democratic Presidential hopeful Barack Obama, and former cop Daniel T. Frawley, is Aiham Alsammarae. Alsammarae was accused of financial corruption by Iraqi authorities and jailed in Iraq last year before escaping and returning here.

Obama should be vetted and disclose his connection to the criminal money generating underworld. Besides, his connections to the REZCO MAFIA types, his up-coming tax fraud charges — Obama needs to disclose why he is a Muslim and stop suppoting our intervention in IRAQ. It’s time to shove an introduction to this fake rip-off Obama and invite the thief pipsqueke to meet the Waukesheake Police Department.
