Hill-Force One Takes Off
January 16, 2008 6:17 PM
ABC News' Eloise Harper Reports: Senator Hillary Clinton marked her second trip aboard a campaign plan packed with reporters by getting on the intercom and impersonating a flight attendant.
"Welcome to Hill-Force One," Clinton said. "FAA regulations prohibit the use of any cell phones, blackberries and/or wireless devices that may be used to transmit a negative story about me."
"Now in a few minutes," she continued, "I am going to switch off the fasten your seatbelt sign, however, I've learned lately that things can get oftly bumpy when you least expect it, so you might want to keep those seatbelts fastened."
"In the event of an unexpected drop in poll numbers, this plane will be diverted to New Hampshire."
"If you look out to the right, you will see an America saddled with tax cuts for the wealthiest and a war without end. If you look out to the left, you will see an America with a strong middle class at home and a strong reputation in the world."
"Once we have reached cruising altitude we will be offering in flight entertainment, my stump speech, in its many variations."
"Once again, thank you for joining us on Hill-Force One. We know you have choices when you fly, and so we are grateful that you chose the plane with the most experienced candidate. Thank you all, have a great flight."
Clinton boarded the plane from the front and reporters filed in through the back. Despite the announcement, the candidate hasn't yet entered the reporters section of the plane.

This is not a news story but rather a puff piece meant to humanize Mrs. Clinton. The fact that this was in the first segment of tonight's broadcast clearly indicates where ABCs sympathies lie in the Democratic primary.

"aboard a campaign PLAN"
Typo?

Seriously? You guys are really looking that hard into this vignette and blaming the media? This is just a description of something unusual that happened on a campaign. If you want to theorize or scrutinize, turn your barbs toward the campaign. I never get why people get mad at reporters for just saying what happened. This entire thing is basically one big quote, with an introductory paragraph.
It's not like it says, >
In fact, it clearly says that despite the riff, she hasn't come back and socialized with anyone.

totally asinine

I thought it was funny and cute. Give the lady a break. I have yet to hear anyone attack Obama the way the media and bloggers have attacked Hillary. Believe me there is a lot unsaid in the news about Obama that savvy internet navigators know. Unfortunately, this may only come out after the primaries should he win the nomination. The Rezko trial is set for Feb. 25, 2008, which can totally change his prospects of winning the general election should he get that far.

Well one thing for sure if all else fails she may have a job as a flight attendant.
See there really is another job option.
:-)

Everyone needs to sprinkle in some light-hearted fun here and there. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't - what matters is having the courage to risk a non-serious moment.

At least she proved to all that she can read from a script her handlers posted in the flight attendent's galley. I thought all the writers were still on strike? Some one must have crossed the picket lines - now there's an actual news story...

That was THE funniest two minutes of "news" I've seen in a l o n g time. Next to Clinton's announcement that she was running for president. I'm still laughing at that one!

Forget what Hillary says - Watch & enjoy Bill's gems!
Our Next First Spouse Beats 'em all!
The meaning of 'is', 'the biggest fairytale', 'I want you to know I did not have ---- with this woman', 'casino caucus in Nevada means 5 votes for 1' are becoming legends.
Keep 'em coming, Mr. President.
Love it!

Hey Michael it is gonna take alot more than this to humanize her. At least it read better than Bubba playing is saxaphone on Arsenio Hall. And yeah I noticed the typo maybne it was wishful thinking?

Nice story and funny too! Im a republican and it was cute. Remember all of these candidates are patriots, we don't have to deamonize them. They are all Americans. God Bless America! sure she is a nice lady. misguided maybe but nice. do we have to say nasty things about each other?

Another job she is not qualified for but acts like she can do it. Was Bill behind her telling her what to do?
Posted by: No to Hillary in 2008 | Jan 17, 2008 11:20:16 AM
Hummm.. If this scripted attempt at looking human for the reporters (who she never actaully went back and spoke to on the flight)doesn't work, do you think we will see the tears come back out again??? Please... And now we find that Mr Bill is being very vocal about the current caucus system in Neveda... Hummm I don't recall anything being said when he was running.. but then didn't the service and culinary unions back HIM... Now that they are backing Obama instead of Hillary, we see a lawsuit brought against the caucus system in Neveda.. and Bill openly campaigns against the unions...

In an interview about the Caucuses on the Nevada casino strip Bill kept responding to the interviewer as if He was running for the Democratic Nomination. He kept saying I had nothing to do with. Listen to his video interview and you clearly see there is a narcistic element to Hillary running. During this economic crisis it should be less about I(Bill)and more about we. Its makes me question if Bill was not a former president would Hillary be the favorite for nomination. Bill we love you but it time for you to spend some quality time with Hillary. You have caused her alot of pain. You did your part so now let America move on.

DUH...that was "your captain speaking" -- NOT a flight attendant. Reporters, examine your sexism!

Our boys in Iraq had it right with Broomstick One!

I am ok with hope - just as long as we know that's what it is - but if we start thinking that we can stay at home from work and “hope” will get the job done than we have a problem, if we start thinking that “hope” we correct this economy than we have a problem, if we start thinking that “hope” will stabilize the middle east than we have a problem, if we start thinking that “hope” will pay the mortgage and the rest of the bills than we have a problem. Now when you look past the "record" of “hope” what else do you have ? “present” will not do the job or anything else for that matter.
I will vote for experience and that vote will be for Hillary, which is the best way to make “hope” becomes a “real” possibility!
