New McCain Ad: Endorsed By Michigan

The campaign of Senator John McCain has released a new television advertisement to run in Michigan, site of the next Republican primary battle on Tuesday.
The ad, similar to one the campaign ran in New Hampshire leading up to the Granite State's primary, takes quotes from two Michigan newspapers that have endorsed him. It does not mention any of his rivals for the Republican nomination.
"A conservative who has worked across the aisle," the ad quotes the Detroit News as writing. "Broad appeal to the middle of the electorate."
McCain is leading in some polls in Michigan, but faces a tough challenge from former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, who was born in Michigan and who is the son of a popular 3-term governor of that state.
In New Hampshire, Romney and McCain traded barbs through paid media over the issue of immigration. McCain's has said that if he is attacked in upcoming primaries he would respond, but has vowed to run a positive campaign.
McCain's ad is titled "Endorsed Michigan."
The Arizona Republican beat then-Governor George W. Bush in the Michigan primary in 2000.
