Obama Raises $700K in Clinton's NYC Turf

ABC News' Sunlen Miller Reports: Sen. Barack Obama held a New York City fundraiser on Sen. Hillary Clinton's turf Wednesday night, that organizers said raised $700,000 for the Democrat's campaign coffers.

An estimated 700 people, who all paid to be there, attended the soiree at the Grand Hyatt hotel in New York City, the same place where Obama held a packed fundraiser several months ago.

Actor Richard Gere, movie director Spike Lee and model Iman mingled in the crowd.

Obama spoke to the crowd for half an hour, introduced by longtime friends, David Cardin and Rhonda Medina, who said he has known Obama was presidential material, and "it's not because I read the kindergarten papers."

Obama talked about how much time he has spent traveling and someone in the crowd yelled, "Don't cry!" prompting laughs from the audience. It was a swipe at Clinton's emotional moment in New Hampshire.

Obama said his loss in the Granite State was a good thing because the campaign was seeming too easy -- and change doesn't work that way, he said.

"But the point is that this was always going to be hard," Obama said. "People will resist, people will fight back, the status quo will dig in, it has resources, it has power, it is not going to relinquish that just because I give a nice speech. So the question is, are we willing to work for it?"

Obama good judgment!! For 15 years he was dealing with his friend Rezko.
As a resident of Illinois I have long been disgusted with the "under the table" corruption that runs RAMPANT here. What disgusts me even more is that when blatant evidence is exposed, the accused individual always finds a way to "make it go away". Chicago Mayor Daley is the chief source of most of the corruption in the state ("Operation Silver Shovel", etc.), but somehow he's always able to walk away with his hands clean. Oh, by the way, he's a big Obama supporter. Also, Illinois House Speaker Mike Madigan (and current Illinois Democratic Party Chairman) was under investigation by the Feds. No problem. He and the Illinois Democratic Machine got Madigan's daughter elected Attorney General of Illinois. Gee, what ever happened to that investigation...........As far as the Rezko case, Obama is not the only one having a connection to Rezko. Rezko was a fundraiser and close friend of the current governor of Illinois, Rod Blagojevich - a governor who is also being investigated by the Feds for his own corrupt practices. (Ironically, Blagojevich came to power by vowing to clean up the corruption created by Republican Governor George Ryan.)Those of you who still aren't convinced that Barack Obama is yet another cog in the Illinois corruption machine should look up the Todd Stroger Cook County Board election scandal. Barack Obama unabashedly threw his full support to Todd Stroger despite the dubious way Stroger even got to become a cadidate. Why would Obama even endorse such shennanigans? I don't have enough time to go into this one, but trust me, it's a beauty. Look it up!Whether Obama himself is corrupt is yet to be determined, but his associations do cause alarm. Are these the same associations that would follow him to the White House? Obama is not "squeeky clean". We in Illinois know better.I will close by saying that I am not a Republican. I am not a Democrat. I have been forced into cynical independency from Illinois polititians that continue to disappoint

I find it amazing that Obama has so much support, but what I don't understand is why? What has he accomplished in the senate? what does "change" truly mean? Let's be logical people. We all know that the campaign of Obama's is all hype. America is not going to vote him in the White House!

Get over it, it is simple:

Obama has support because he includes YOU in the bill.

It is about YOU, not about him.

The Clinton want to convince us how great THEY are

Obama is trying to open your eyes to see how MUCH can be done if YOU participate

Life is that simple!!

To me the Beef is HOPE

Obama is a LEADER

Hillary is a FOLLOWER

For me I will always go for Obama.Hilary's candidacy is just personal. Thats why she withstood all Bill's lies and stayed in their marriage. She always had this dreams and always wanted to ride on Bill's popularity. First as a Senator and now for the Presidency. She has nothing to offer Americans.

I keep hearing Hillary talk about her 35 years of experiences. Yet, I don't recall her being an elected official until her husband left the White House. Many politicians wives have helped their husbands run for public office and stood by their side and I'm sure that they too have advised their husbands on decisions affecting public policy. But, you don't hear them taking all the credit. If this is the case, then Barbara Bush is the most experienced woman in America and she should run for the White House. The Clintons didn't even have the guts to move back to Arkansas, so you can tell that everything has been a calculated plan and not just happenstance. I don't appreciate being manipulated or lied to about her experience - I'm sure Bill Clinton is not willing to say that all his policies were Hillary's idea.

I heard Mrs. Clinton had a very good resumee. I have no doubt. She will always fine a good job out there.

The President of the U.S.A. needs Vision, Inspiration, Wisdom, Knowledge, Experience, Character, Judgement, Ethics.

Barack Obama ranks very Hight on all that.

Plus: He has a lovely family, he knows the importance of having a wife next to him, Michelle would be a most inspiring First Lady.

Mr. Obama will bring to the With House and the Governement the people with the most impressive resumees needed for all the different tasks and responsibilities.

I have not a single doubt now who is going to have my vote: Barack Obama

People say that Obama is all talk and no action, he says he will bring about change, but they say it's all talk. For me the very fact that he doesn't take money from lobbyists and PAC's is a huge example of a change. That's the kind of change I want from a candidate to demonstrate what they would do in Washington.

Voting for Hil will ensure the Republicans take the Senate back as well as the keep the Presidency. The Clintons have to much baggage and their smear campaigns against Obama will eventually backfire and cost her. The Clintons and Bushes are the same thing not a bit of difference they just want power to put all their cronies in place and reap the rewards. Obama is a change. McClain is a change Clinton is status quo and in fact worse anyone that would stay in a marriage to get elected is not only lying to the American people but lying to herself.
