Paul Aims for Better Days in New Hampshire

January 04, 2008 12:54 AM

ABC News' Z. Byron Wolf Reports: Despite a disappointing 5th place finish in the Iowa caucuses, Ron Paul told supporters at a rally Thursday night that he would carry forth with his campaign.

"We are individuals who believe in this country, who believe in the Constitution and we are not going to let it die," he said.

"This is not the end, this is the beginning," Paul declared to a raucous if smaller than expected group of supporters who gathered at the Marriott hotel in downtown Des Moines.

Paul clung to his victory in the caucus voting over former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who while he did not campaign in Iowa, has long been polling nationally as the Republican frontrunner.

Giuliani has lost ground in recent months to competitors like former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, who won tonight in Iowa, and Arizona Senator John McCain, who got 13 percent of Republican votes in Iowa despite light campaigning in the state.

"I know we didn't come in at the bottom and I know that we beat that Giuliani guy," Paul said.

"Even with a lot of money and establishment credentials we the people who care abut the country and care about the constitution can win," he said to cheers from his supporters.

Paul's message of limited government, strict adherence to the text of the Constitution and a laissez faire foreign policy has never resounded in polls, but has garnered him a spirited following of supporters, who donated nearly $20 million to Paul in the 4th quarter of 2007, more than any other candidate, Republican or Democrat, raised for the primary in that quarter.

"We are et up to go through February 5th and that is half the states in the country," he said. And he indicated the campaign could fare better in New Hampshire, where primary voters make their choice next week.

"Among independent-minded people we came in first tonight," Paul said. And half the people in New Hampshire are independent-minded."

Paul will head straight to New Hampshire after a pit stop in New York to record an interview with Bill Moyers.

As much as it has been fun to watch Ron Paul and his supporters, and they have done terrific work, this was not a good start to his campaign. Soon after New Hampshire we will need to hear who he is supporting for President, and I'd sure like to stop the Independant rumors once and for all.

Tonite was the nite to celebrate with Huckabee and the Iowans who voted their hearts. Tuesday will be the beginning though of the primary season, where voters decide who can beat Hillary.

60% evangelical
polling at 4-6 %

achieving 10% with 3rd place tied @ 13%

realistically--- this is not a failure... It's legitamacy--

Dr. Paul has support--- and in some states more than the GOP Darling "Guliani"

THis is a start--- not the start we had hoped for-- not enough to shove a crow diner down the MSM's throat---

But this should at least alliviate the "LONG SHOT" title so often afforded our candidate.....

If he is still a long shot-- then what is guliani?? or McCain and Thompson for that matter-

This was no stellar pull away as many will try and spin this....

We have a voice...

and now--- the internet is turning into real votes----

New Hampshire--- he we come

Ron Paul beats frontrunner Giuliani! That's all I need to hear. On to N.H. where the state motto is "Live free or die!"

Posted by: Dingobully | Jan 4, 2008 1:52:17 AM

Considering the mainstream media blackout of Ron Paul and the low national poll numbers, I think Ron Paul did farely well in Iowa. Moreover, this is a state that is heavily subsidized for ethanol production- something that Paul is against, so, considering the odds against him, Paul had a good showing.

And don't worry, the any rumors about an independent run are false. Paul has only answered the question about 50 times. And, he will not be supporting any of the other Republican candidates.

Posted by: matt | Jan 4, 2008 1:59:56 AM

Go Paul! If only the media would stop ignoring you...

Posted by: Shad | Jan 4, 2008 2:21:37 AM

I am going to vote for Ron Paul because we must change course and save this country before it's too late. Paul is not wishey-washey on issues,I like his stand on illegals. They are not citizens and there fore have NO RIGHTS in our Country. Paul will support and defend the Constitution of The United States. Right now we have the very best politions that MONEY can buy. Enough Now! We have had it.

If Paul were to give up the race, I would hope he would throw his support toward the candidate who taught constitutional law for 10 years and is probably on a level with the venerable Senator Byrd when it comes to the constitution. Barack Obama

Posted by: gc | Jan 4, 2008 3:10:52 AM

It is getting wee bit irritating to read comments talking as if Iowa was the final election. Its important to note Paul's support at this point. He's no longer simply a blip.

Kucinich is getting screwed, but he has to rise to the occasion and simply may not be reaching the masses.

Posted by: chris | Jan 4, 2008 3:18:56 AM

Regarding Ron Paul: We won 10% with no/limited/biased media coverage...once people start to hear his message we will have a landslide victory...
Freedom is contagious..

"If Paul were to give up the race, I would hope he would throw his support toward the candidate who taught constitutional law for 10 years ... Barack Obama."

He will not give up at least until after Super Duper Tuesday. He is in it to win it.

All those give-away programs that Obama the constitutional scholar promotes are unconstitutional. Besides, we are running the government on credit already. China is our banker. The Treasury notes they buy are liens on future taxes, including taxes on people who are currently too young to vote. When you are running a deficit and spend even more, any of the debt that isn't sold to China and other investors is monetized by the Fed. "Monetized" means they just print the money from nothing. That new money goes directly to inflation. Inflation destroys the middle class and savages the poor. This has to stop, and no one will even try to stop it except Dr. Paul.

There is no one running on either side that I could support, other than Ron Paul. I try to figure out which of the others is the least odious, but I just can't do it.

What I'm wondering is why Dr. Paul was excluded from the ABC News/Facebook debates when he polled higher in Iowa than Mr. Guliani and has more support in New Hampshire than Mr. Thompson? This massive oversight is extremely disheartening and only goes to show that the media has its own agenda when it comes to the election.

Posted by: Jessica | Jan 4, 2008 4:04:07 AM

Ron Paul has more support in the Iowa caucus than Giuliani. Rudy will debate for ABC, while Ron wasn't invited. I'm studying journalism in college, and this decision would flunk all of ABC News' political department in even a freshman ethics lass for lack of objectivity. Good job giving the public further reason to ignore and distrust the mainstream news media.

Posted by: Dustin | Jan 4, 2008 4:07:05 AM

It amazes me that 98% of Americans want to keep their guns, yet 88% voted to get rid of them. That means Ron Paul only got 10% of the vote from people who want to keep their guns.

I say 88% voted to get rid of them because that's how many people voted FOR candidates involved with the UN, who is pushing for all citizens to be disarmed.

It's funny how people ignore the big picture!

Posted by: tracy | Jan 4, 2008 6:03:53 AM

i think ron paul did well in iowa, considering he wants to end (and has stated so) the subsidies (freebies) handed to the farmers. if i were a farmer in iowa, i wouldn't vote for a candidate that was gonna cut off my welfare check.

Posted by: paul | Jan 4, 2008 8:14:41 AM

The problems I have w/Ron Paul are these(& they're MAJOR problems): He does NOT have a decent healthcare plan for the middle class & the poor, AND he does NOT want to punish drug companies for FALSELY advertising their product(s) in regards to SAFETY &/or EFFECTIVENESS...& he was a DOCTOR?!?

Posted by: Lucy Ricardo | Jan 4, 2008 8:31:32 AM

With everything stacked against him and little support from the media, Dr. Paul came within 3% of 3rd place and still beat Guiliani. This race is far from over and the results from Iowa will only further invigorate his grassroots campaign. A special thanks must go out to students who volunteered their time during the holidays and braved the cold to give Dr. Paul the votes he did get. The Revolution goes on to NH!!

Posted by: Uniblogger | Jan 4, 2008 8:35:01 AM

I started understanding how things work with this caucus scam many years ago..."the powers that be" put in the robot President that will do what he is told to do, the voting system in this country has been corrupt longer than most of us have been in existence. JFK won only because his father had votes fixed in Illinois with the help of Sam Giancana, the establishment wanted Nixon. GHW Bush, who has been a high up in this corrupt system of government since the 1960's, won because of fixed voting using dead people, Current Bush won because of his father pulling strings with the help of then Governor Jeb Bush. Eisenhower and JFK spoke out against a secret society that was systematically taking over our country and look what they did to JFK, the same with RFK. You people who vote for your President like a high school poul;arity contest need to wake up, get a clue and start thinking and acting as "real" Americans and fight for your country, too many of our brothers, sisters, fathers, uncles and grandfathers have spilled their blood and died just to hand over our country to fake candidates like the media promotes.

Posted by: Truth | Jan 4, 2008 8:40:32 AM

Ps. But I MUST say, Paul IS way better than any of the other GOP's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: Lucy Ricardo | Jan 4, 2008 8:42:00 AM

Lucy Ricardo...without a doubt bettter than ANY of the others and a threat to "the powers that be", that's why the media ignores him. Ron Paul is our only hope!!!

Posted by: Truth | Jan 4, 2008 8:46:31 AM

I completely agree with "Sgt John"
The media is doing an amazing job trying to make Ron Paul look bad. But Ron Paul won't have it...He always stands up for himself and his true beliefs.
And his supporters won't either!

Go Ron Paul!

Posted by: Janet B | Jan 4, 2008 9:05:43 AM

amazing that even when you do get a story it has numerous misspellings... Ron Paul deserved more media coverage and if he would have got it we would have easily finished 3rd in Iowa.

Posted by: nate | Jan 4, 2008 9:22:46 AM

I would like to see Dr Paul do it, but call me a realist. Close to 40% independents were undecided at the last minutes yesterday. He needed those to votes to finish better than what he did,he didnt get them, what makes anyone think NH, or any other of those large states yet to come are going to swing his way? His website numbers, currently not showing what hes done for this quarter because they changed it, showed only 1200 new donors to his campaign. Anyone remember what the number counts were from last presidential election?? I do and 1200 is far from it. We need tens of thousands, not thousands.

Posted by: Jack in Michigan | Jan 4, 2008 9:32:02 AM

CORRECTION, 2700 new donors this quarter.

Posted by: Jack in Michigan | Jan 4, 2008 9:35:17 AM

Wake up America. Has the sleeping giant died? Shall we wake from the coma? Your destiny was better than this. Your stupor is crippling. This currency is unhealthy. Long ago your Fathers established a better way. Can you overcome the addictions? The good Dr. Ron Paul appears to understand this. The question is do you?

I live in a very "democratic" part of texas. Yes i said in Texas. i've always heard that the democrats are for the poor people, "they're the working man's party." to say you were a "republican" was really sticking your neck out. i was neither, i didn't believe either party had our best interests in mind. so i heard it from both sides. lately, i've been hearing alot of those strict democrats commenting about the two parties being alike. they didn't feel comfortable supporting any one on the democratic side and swore to never back a republican, especially after bush. i've even had a few tell me i was right, they are the same, they don't care about the country just the power and money that just happens to fall into their laps. i share with them that i am now into the whole political scene and have found a candidate that has gotten to the root of the problem. i share his/her name with them and they research and later notify me they feel the same about this person. these are old people, young people, male and female that i'm talking about here from all different professions and education backgrounds. can you guess who the candidate is. i know it's pretty obvious but there are those out there that don't have a knack for the obvious. the support garnered for those other candidates is proof of that. what do you guys think is the single most important issue for this whole country?

Posted by: roland | Jan 4, 2008 10:57:25 AM

I'm just a stickler for the facts...Tancredo & Hunter dropped out A WHILE AGO (just FYI). ;)

Posted by: Lucy Ricardo | Jan 4, 2008 11:10:46 AM

What stuns me about NH is that they claim they are against the war, they are the live free or die state, blah, blah. Really? Then why is that hideous pro-war McCain polling the highest? Not far behind him are other intensely pro-war, let's keep our troops in Iraq to die for a hundred years, nutjobs. Unless NH starts voting for an anti-war candidate, they are hypocrites and unworthy of all the media attention they are getting.

This comment is for Truth: I love what you wrote.Unfortunately America only has a handful of intelligent people. This country will never change until the American people become more aware of what is really going on with our system. In order to know what is going on each individual must change. You cannot change a country unless you change the people's thinking.

Remember Abraham Lincoln and National Union Party in 1864. Do we, the American people, truly believe in our Constitution now as in 1864?

Let's see, "Dr. NO" is in favor of NOTHING, helping NO-ONE, overseeing NOTHING. I appreciate changing Government to something HONEST and FAIR, what's that got to do with Doctor No? CHANGE GOVERNMENT FOR THE BETTER!

I believe that we are given the illusion every 4 years that our votes count and that some believe if only OUR person wins life will be beautiful. These are the same people that believe a contribution is not a bride, that the tooth fairy put that 50 cents under your pillow and that Santa puts your presents by the tree. Or as I once heard “the best argument against democracy is to spend five minutes talking with a registered voter”. I implore each to educate themselves and to follow the money. Here you will find the answers you seek. The mind is like a parachute….it’s best used when opened.

"celebrate with Huckabee"

Why the hell would I want to celebrate with Huckleberry?! You couldn't pay me to vote for Gomer Pyle, Dubya's long lost cousin. That's just what we need, another 4 years of Tweedle-dee the Wonder Dummy. Sheesh.

Zuzu - that's the point No governement is good government. Unless you work for the federal government or are getting checks what has the Federal Government done for you lately.

The government that governs least is the best government of all.

Great Dr. Paul!! You have gotten 3 times as many votes as Rudy Gulliani!! You should be very proud. You will do even better in NH. Keep up the great message and your history on congress proves you are the guy for all of us!!

I just wonder if Foxnews will now cancel Gulliani and put you in place since you are blowing him away!!!
Thank you!! Concerned republican,

I hate Republicans and I'm voting for Ron Paul. Everyone else is lying, misrepresenting themselves or completely incompetent. If you want candidates who will tell you what you want to hear even if it isn't true, go vote for any of those other morons. Just realize that even if you're getting screwed a different way, you're still getting screwed. One thing about RP is he's consistent. There's no guessing what his intentions are. He's the first honorable candidate I've ever seen.

I was hoping for Kucinich vs Ron Paul so the big political machines could sit on the sidelines playing pocket pool. But I will ride on Obamas bus anyday and give up my seat to his wife and kids. RFK AND MLK are the winds at our backs and the gas in our can, so hold on if you can stand the potholed road and obstacle course the failed repubs have left this country to contend with, and contend we will. My libertarian friend who loves Ron Paul may hitch up and ride with us eventually but he gets real annoyed when I wonder why the libertarians always hooked up with the repubs at selection time. Any reason, AYN?????

Posted by: daddyblue | Jan 4, 2008 6:27:06 PM

I want to see a Ron Paul vs Obama fight in the General Election. That would be awesome. Even if Ron loses, that will really shake things up.

Posted by: Will | Jan 4, 2008 6:30:36 PM

Whats not great, paul spent HEAVILY in iowa and still came in only 5th.The G man spent next to nothing. That worries me because he will have to continue that spending, and he doesnt have it to take him to the end

Posted by: Jack In Michigan | Jan 4, 2008 6:34:55 PM

Yeah!! What a great Paul victory coming in fifth!!!!! No one can stop us now. Likewise Joe Biden finished fifth on the Democratic side and he's gonna win like Paul!!!! Go Paul and Biden. Hmmmm, did Biden drop out in shame after his fifth placing showing? Never mind.

Ron Paul the vest candidate for President but no one want to vote for him because my guess is he is oldest of the candidates. Are US citizens discriminate the elderly?

Humans can live to 100 easily.

Posted by: Tennis227mike | Jan 4, 2008 9:43:26 PM

I don't see why everyone is acting like this is the end of Dr. Paul's campaign. Most of Iowa is evangelical and Dr. Paul didn't advertise near as much in Iowa as New Hampshire not to mention his support in texas and California are extremely strong as well as the Carolinas.

I think those who are doubting him dont realize that he expected this and his campaign advisors also expected this. He predicted it almost 2 months ago.

Let us not forget they have been saying all along Giuliani was going to spank him and look what happened.

Also has anyone noticed how Huckabee is using a lot of Paul's material?!?

I think we all know that Dr. Paul is a very very strong contender in this competition and those who are knocking him are either too prideful to admit it or simply not informed enough about what is going on.

Ron Paul for PRES! SEMPER FI!!!

Posted by: ezra | Jan 4, 2008 10:28:32 PM

It seems the media (and the GOP) want to make Dr. Paul go away, to make him disappear.

The vote count in Iowa was handled in a was very interesting way. It remains at 95% and the rankings remained curiously unchanged after it slowly increased passed 90%...

When change threatens to rule, the rules change. Secret ballot elections are always interesting because it isn't the votes but how they are counted that matters.

We currently have a government navigating in Constitutionally unchartered waters. Ron Paul will put us back on course.

Posted by: Bob Ficalora | Jan 4, 2008 11:08:17 PM

Unfortunately, there are still many people out there that think Ron Paul has no plan to help Americans get access to health care.

Ron Paul is the only candidate that is calling for an end to regulations that allow companies to prevent new competition, and wants a renewed free market to help solve this problem.

One recent example is the not-for-profit hospital that was built in Houston, TX. Just months after its completion, Herman-Memorial secretly killed that hospital's chance of opening.

f you don't know about this, a group of concerned doctors came together and personally funded a brand new state-of-the-art facility for the poor because they weren't receiving adequate treatment at the major hospitals. These doctors are now in a major lawsuit just to open a hospital they paid for that would ensure all the poor would receive medical treatment.

Ron Paul wants to end the "safety nets" that allow the killing of competition. This is one example of how the free market would work, but the current system prevents progressive business.

You would think after decades of watching the current system fail (even after many subtle changes) and witnessing the big corporations stifling the free market, people would finally start looking to the free market for real solutions; the same principles that originally made America so great.

Posted by: Tracy | Jan 5, 2008 2:03:31 AM

As someone previously said, Paul did not expect much from Iowa. However, what he got (10%) shows that he is NOT a second-tier candidate, especially after having wiped the floor with the well-known Guiliani. New Hampshire is a libertarian hotbed, and I have no doubt that Ron Paul will pull out a top three finish in this state, which will gain him a ton of media attention and re-energize his supporters even more.

As for the "scientific polls," they aren't to be trusted for two reasons: (1) they only call those who have land-based phones, while many Paul supporters (myself included) only use cell phones, and (2) they only call people who voted in the last Republican presidential primary, which completely dismisses all newly registered voters, independents, and most importantly, those whose political apathy have been cured by the Ron Paul campaign.

Posted by: RonPaul4Pres | Jan 5, 2008 6:23:16 AM

people forget that Ron Paul had a very slow start, he didn't start gaining ground till the END of the 3rd Quarter.. while the other "front runners"have had full stride since the first quarter, Ron Paul has just started to gallop.

10% from 1% is a big achievement. The more people realize that huck, hillary, obama, edwards, giuliani are all cut from the SAME cloth.. the more people will realize that RON PAUL is the only honest candidate.

ron paul is the only candidate talking about SAVING the dollar and fiscal responsibility... both the hucks, hillary, obama, giuliani, mccain want to go into iran and pakistan next.

pretty scary and pretty stupid.

Libertarians believe that the IRS/INCOME TAX/FEDERAL reserver are UNCONSTITUTIONAL.. .democrats love to RAISE taxes... that is why libertarians side with REPUBLICANS.. libertarians believe in the 2nd amendment.. democrats don't.

Republicans have lost their way to NEO-CONSERVATISM.. the democrats have lost their way and follow the SAME agenda of the NEO-CONS.. why? because they are all lining their pockets with an ENDLESS war in the middle east. RON PAUL is courageous enough to stand up against Bush and his neo-con cronies.

i ask.. who voted against the war?.. which candidates..
yEP... PAUL and KUCINICH. and 70% of americans want the war ended, yet.. no frontrunners will end it ASAP.

open your eyes.

So "longshot" Ron Paul beats "front-runner" Rudy Giuliani and the old media says his performance was disappointing? Wow, what does it take to get any credit with you guys?

Posted by: Charles | Jan 5, 2008 8:24:00 AM

I was channel surfing last night and caught the Bill Moyers interview with Paul and Kucinich. WOW!!! It was amazing that these guys who I'd barely heard of were saying what I wanted to hear!

This country is in such a mess thanks to the politicians lining their pockets with every dirty penny they can. How can they vote for Americans who work their butts off and have nothing to show for it when they don't know what thats like? They are so far removed from the working people that they have no clue.

I liked that Paul kept talking about our CONSTITUTION. How many others have you heard mention it?

Posted by: lisaew54 | Jan 5, 2008 9:33:29 AM

All the money the "Federal Reserve" prints ia created from nothing. When JFK ordered 4.5 billion debt-free United States notes printed by our Treasury he signed his death warrant. Why should we hobble our citizens with an income tax just to pay interest to the owners of the "Federal Reserve" for authorizing OUR treasury to print the fiat currency known as "Federal Reserve" notes.

Lets not dance around the facts. First let me say i support Dr Paul. But Iowa was a loss. Why, in any state, Dr. Paul is counting on the "undecided"or "independent" vote as well as his supporters. In Iowa, close to 40% of the "independent" voters were undecided on voting day. They went all ways, not just Dr Pauls way. Secondly, check Dr Pauls site, click on those red arrows under his running total, you will find a "Number of first time donors this week" at about 4200. A low number when your taking about a run to at least the national convention. You need 10's of thousands, not thousands.

Posted by: Jack in Michigan | Jan 5, 2008 12:07:52 PM

"The Treasury notes they buy are liens on future taxes, including taxes on people who are currently too young to vote"

Thank you. I've always wondered why I am am being taxed at almost 30% of my income when it is a part time job since i am forced (and blessed) to go to school. I don't understand it.

RP is my candidate, only because his ideas seem semi-reasonable. There comes a time when the government gets too large to be effective and run things constitutional, and the time is now. We need to sit down and say, "Is this absolutely necessary for the federal government to run?" The answer will more than likely be "No, the states can run it better". If only the majority of the American public fully understood the implications of voting for big government. We are running the country into the ground, and there is not much we can do about it when advise falls on deaf ears.

Like him or not , It's unfair to leave Ron Paul out of the ABC & FOX debates . They don't like what he has to say or should I say , the Boss's don't and therefore won't let him speak the truth about what is going on in this country . Isn't this America , don't we have freedom of speech and is't that why the troops are in Iraq today . If you don't like what is happening with this debate then contact ABC News & Fox News and let them know how you feel . Stand up for America , people and don't
let them dictate who's message you can hear . Americans take charge of your country and speek out for what you believe is right . Let's give the underdog a chance to be heard !!!!

Posted by: Elaine | Jan 5, 2008 1:22:05 PM

Ron Paul got 10% even after telling Iowa that he belives in cutting Farm Fed Funds. Seems pretty amazing.
Ron Paul represents what our government has lost.
We have lost our Liberty, and our Freedom.
We have become a nation that has been thrown into financial chaos,
with big spending and debt. Someone has to put a stop to all this,
and Ron Paul is the only candidate that will accomplish this.
We have to bring our troops home, secure our borders, cut spending,
stop foreign aid to other countries, and basically start over.
A lot of people are thinking, we can't do that,
my response will be we do not have a choice,
unless we want to be taken over by China or some other country we owe billions of dollars to.
I sure hope America wakes up, and really sees that our poor country is broke,
our system is broken, and we have to reform our government and use our Constitution.
It is going to take a lot of work from some,
but I would rather have Freedom than be a slave to the government we have now.
Ron Paul is giving us the opportunity to get our America back and keep it.

Just because Obama taught constitutional law for 10 years doesn't mean he will follow it. I don't hear him say much about the constitution. All the presidents and congress people in the past years vowed to uphold the constitution and who did? I truly believe if Ron Paul is elected that he will be true to his word.

What a sham. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. You shouldn't decide...let the people decide.

Posted by: John Tisdell | Jan 5, 2008 2:56:44 PM

It will be completely up to We The People to decide who is truly authentic in running for We The People. After New Hampshire, America and the rest of the world will know whether or not US politics can be restored to the original values of the Founding Fathers. Its future will depend on it. As far as I am concerned, only Ron Paul is committed to giving America back to its people, and no one else. Live Free Or Die indeed.

I have voted straight down the line republican for 30 years and NEVER missed an election, even while overseas serving in the military.

The Democratic candidates are ultra left wing extremists and the Republican candidates with the exception of one are moderate socialists.

I judge the candidate by their PAST record and take with a 100 lb. bag of salt what they say during this election for the most part as all but Ron Paul have remained steady throughout their career.

Using a metaphor.....if you try to boil a frog in pot of water you can cook him alive if you raise the heat slow enough. With the Democrats we will be cooked real fast......with the Republicans (excluding Ron Paul) we will be cooked nice and slow.

Let's not forget "Read my lips, no new taxes" or "I don't think our troops should be used for what's called nation building." or "Big government cannot be compasionate"

I have had enough of the socialist Democrats and the closet socialist Republicans as well as the police state government that has risen out of the Bush administration (voted twice for George Bush by the way.....my bad!)

Now we have such massive police state government organizations such as the TSA (which is the accronym for "Thousands Standing Around". Let's not forget about the "Jobba the Hut" of ALL government agencies the Ministry of Home Land Security. (they did such a great job after Katrina and securing our borders)

No thanks! It is time our nation be run in accordance with our Constitution as written by the founding fathers or throw it away (which we pretty much have done alrady)

I have had enough and will NOT be throwing my vote away on the RINO bait and switch game.

Ron Paul for better or worse has my vote and if the Republican party & our "balanced and unbias'd media (such as Faux News)continues to crap on him; I hope he runs as an independent.

He just may draw more former Republican and Democratic votes along with Libertarian then all the experts think.

Everyone is crying for "change". What candidate really represents change... Ron Paul. A vote for any of the others, is a vote for the same ole thing. If you want change this is your opportunity and opportunities like this don't come by often. No other candidate is as honest and as steadfast in his/her beliefs than the man of "REAL CHANGE", Ron Paul.

I almost forgot.

SHAME on ABC (Anything But Candid) for obstructiong Ron Paul from tonight's presidential debate!

Its funny but the pundits said "Ron Paul doesn't have money so he's not a 1st tier candidate".

Huckabee has been broke from the start but he's a media darling and has gotten millions of dollars worth of free press on orders from the Corporate owners of those media groups.

Ron Paul people responded by donating like crazy....it seems what really controls politics in this country are a few corporate heads who steer the public opinion.

People, forget about the polls, turn off Fox, abc, nbc, cbs, cnn, msnbc. The corporations don't care about you, and you should not care about them.

Ron Paul is a guy who treats us like adults, that's why we like him so much. Americans aren't used to that. We are conditioned to respond to the most cheery candidates who promise the most while always delivering the least.

In the three latest polls in New Hampshire today, Ron Paul actually has the biggest bump over any other candidate, and that is welcome news.

Averaging 7% in polls there two days ago, Paul is now averaging 13% today while Giuliani and Romney continue to slide. The biggest surprise today is that Huckabee hasn't gained any new ground in New Hampshire.

Ron has to finish in the top three here or else he may never really breakthrough. Right now it looks like McCain will win with 30% while Romney continues to slide and Paul surges. If Paul can flirt with 20% and nearly catch Romney for 2nd that will be huge.

I was in the Army in 1961-1964. I was part of the 82nd Airborne's participation on the Cuban Missle Crisis which was ordered by a great president, Jack Kennedy. When I enlisted in the Army, I took an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States .... that oath has never expired, as far as I'm concerned, and it won't until I'm dead. Ron Paul reminds me a lot of Kennedy, a man that would stick to his guns and stand up for his country. Now, Ron Paul is the only man that can save this country from the underground takeover by the Neo-Cons. Wake up America, you're about to become slaves of the moneyed elite!! Lets get back to the foundation of this country, the Constitution!! Ron Paul has won a great victory in Iowa... no one is going to win EVERY state, we just have to make sure that he wins the largest majority of them, don't be a bunch of quitters.... He's a winner!! BTW, Ron Paul, in my view, won the ABC Debate tonight, while most of the other "candidates" squabbled like a bunch of three-year-olds. 41% of the people who watched, voted him "Most Presidential." Go Ron Paul !!!

If all those who say they would vote for Ron Paul, if they thought he could win, would vote for him, then he could be our next President and there would finally be some hope for change in this country.

Ron Paul is the only guy who's shooting us straight. His citation on oil prices is right on - 300% higher in dollars over the last several years, only 150% higher in euros. Why? Because our dollar is in the dumps. Just like the fall of the Roman empire - now gold/silver to pay people to hold up its reach. Come on, America. The loonie is higher than the greenback.

Ron Paul CAN WIN, if we have a fair and untampered election. We must work to make sure we do. I'm with Dr. Paul until the end, and if we should fail, it will be all patriotic citizens duty to defend the United States Constitution, against ALL enemies, both foreign AND DOMESTIC. Do you support absorbing the U.S.A. into a one world government or do you support our independence? I know what Dr. Paul supports, and I know what his rivals support, and I know what I support.
GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES of AMERICA!

I have done a lot of research on ALL of the candidates. The best choice I found is RON PAUL. I don't agree with everything he says, but he sure makes alot of sense and he has my donation and votes. I think everyone wants change, but the democrats and republicans are one of the same. I think people who are voting Hitlery, Obama, Edwards, Guiliani, Romney, Huckabee & McCain are completely out of their mind.
These 7 MORONS are lying to the american
people. These 7 idiots all take lobbyists money. Not one of these 7 idiots signed on to impeach Bush & Cheney, repeal the Patriot Act and ALL
are PRO-AMNESTY for illegal immigration.
Not one of these idiots talks about returning our rights (habeus corpus) back to us. The american people are pretty stupid if they fall for what these 7 candidates are saying. DO YOUR
RESEARCH PEOPLE!!!! Ron Paul is the
only one who is telling the truth. His
supporters have researched him and that
is why he has such GREAT SUPPORT that none of the other candidates have.

Rally behind Dr. Paul. He is trying to save this country. He is our country's only chance. He is an honest man, who doesn't tell lies. Can this be said about any other candidates.

Dr. Paul, as President, would cause a revival of this country. The benefits are immense. He does have a superb health plan, called Health Freedom Act, HR 2117 and 2717. By the way he supports drug safety and also is a supporter of freedom of choice, for instance, the ability to have dangerous genetically engineered and irradiated foods labeled.

Go ahead and support those who have sold their souls to special interest groups. I find the good doctor inspiring and refreshing. He has my vote of confidence.
