Paul Descends on Romney (Literally)
January 08, 2008 12:51 PM
ABC News' Z. Byron Wolf Reports: While having an impromptu news conference, Republican presidential candidate former Gov, Mitt Romney, R-Mass., stood in front of some steps in the lobby of the Radisson hotel in Manchester, New Hampshire amid an amoeba of reporters.
Just then, who should walk down the steps at that moment but long-shot presidential candidate Ron Paul. The Republican congressman from Texas paused on the steps as Romney tried to squeeze out the front door.
Somebody in the lobby shouted: "Ron Paul!" but random shouts of "Ron Paul!" go off like firecrackers on the Fourth of July in New Hampshire and nobody in the Romney group looked up -- including Romney. In fact, Romney did not appear to notice Paul coming up behind him at all.
A little real-life symbolism?

Listed below are links to weblogs that reference Paul Descends on Romney (Literally):
Why should Romney be any different than the rest of us? No one cares about Paul except a handful of nut-case supporters.

LAGuy is one of those sheep that listen too much to Fixed News and friends. Look how he repeats exactly the media propaganda. He will die for their wars, he will pay for their corruption and his money gets devalued. And won't even notice. It's as funny as sad. But what do you expect from this Britney Hilton society.

I'm wondering why LAGuy says that no one cares about Ron Paul except a handful of nut-case supporters. Does an experienced political candidate with a consistent, constitutionally sound, well-reasoned approach to governing seem like the type of person who is only supported by "nut-cases?" If only nut-cases support Ron Paul, then what does that say about people who support the "busines as usual" candidates that support the continuation of a thoughtless policy towards war and finance and are leaving our country at great risk for financial and other serious harm?

Ron Paul is the real deal. I'm a Huckabee supported, but you have to respect what Ron Paul and his supporters stand for. At the same time, this article really is spotlight on the Republican establishment in general... they are so full of themselves that they don't see the real movements in the party. Who are Fox News and Rush Limbaugh going to support when the only three candidates standing are Ron Paul, Mike Huckabee and John McCain. Notice any similarities in those three? They all speak what the believe.

Well call me a nut case then, because I beleive in small government, sound fiscal responsibility, freedom, protecting our country and not policing the entire world!! I don't understand how anyone could think that is crazy!!!

Ron Paul = nice idea, but not a chance in blue heaven of winning.
Posted by: seekeronos | Jan 8, 2008 3:45:11 PM
if Ron Paul = nice idea, then please vote for him whether you think he'll win or not. There's no prize for predicting the winner with your vote.

I'm with Fred... he's the real Reagan conservative in the pack of RINOs running this year, and he's got a much better chance of winning.
The only way I can see RP getting my vote (in the primary) is if both Fred and Mitt are knocked out of the race by Super Tuesday (my state is a Super Tuesday primary).

Ron Paul would never be corrupted like the rest of the candidates. Straight and simple. They all are potential nightmares apart from Ron Paul.

Ron Paul is a bigot. I reference his newsletters during the previous 20 years. There is no room for a bigot in the Presidency. A President must be a President for all the people. His understanding of the economy is flawed, superficial and shallow. His chances of being elected and slim and none. I would advise followers to not waste a vote, but to vote for the eventual nominee.

Everyone says Ron Paul will protect the constitution without really realizing how the constitution works in America. The Supreme Court determines the interpretation of the constitution. Now, if Paul is going to uphold every Supreme Court decision, that's fine with me, but I don't see how that's any different from anyone except George Bush.
Also, I disagree greatly with Ron Paul's ideas. His "noninterventionism" smacks greatly of isolationism to me-- withdraw from the UN? We do sort of need that. The IAEA is one of the only things upholding the idea of nuclear nonproliferation nowadays. Also, there needs to be some sort of way to gauge world opinion on particular topics, and a way to force multilateral agreements on non-abiding countries like North Korea and Iran.
Get rid of the IRS? And the Department of Ed? And income tax? Doesn't Ron Paul realize that income tax is specifically allowed by the Constitution? And we should specifically not leave education up to the states. It took long enough for a federal law for mandated education up to age 16. Eliminating the DoE would not do anything positive. The only thing it would do is relieve rabid (by which I mean, literally, those contagious with the disease rabies) states righters.
Ron Paul is one of those people who wants to take the government out back and shoot it. But what the government needs is not euthanasia but reform. Hope. Hell, anything but a fundamentalist in office.
Sincerely,

Only an American could describe anyone as 'standing amidst an amoeba'. Although given the average American IQ I suppose it doesn't really matter.

I dont seem to understand how George Bush compares anything to Ron Paul. George Bush is a puppet, not to mention a complete degenerate. Ron Paul actually makes decisions for himself, and his ideas for reform will put our country back into prosperity. With Paul, we will no longer be the most hated country in the world. I want my rights, and my freedoms. I disapprove of the North American Union and the Patriot act. I vote for Ron Paul, along with a whole lot of other Americans that want to hold on to their freedom.
