Reid on Obama and Clinton: 'I Need Them Back'
January 31, 2008 11:41 AM
ABC News' Z. Byron Wolf Reports: Senate Democrats held a special meeting Thursday to decide on two bills both with a deadline of February 15. In between now and then...is Super Tuesday.
No final decisions on either the FISA update bill or the economic stimulus package were reached, but afterwards on the Senate floor Majority Leader Harry Reid implied there won't be action on either item till next week. Not only does he need to woo Republican support to get the 60 votes needed to pass versions the Democrats prefer on both matters, but he needs to marshal his troops. Specifically, those conspicuously absent from the Senate with a case of '08.
"I probably can't get them back here 'til Monday, but I do need them back," Reid said of Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., and Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., the two Democrats vying for their party's presidential nomination. Other Democrats, notably Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass, hit the campaign trail as a surrogate for Obama.
He said the FISA update would take one "long legislative day" but could be accomplished.
He was even more cryptic about the stimulus.
Since there are two full weeks between now and Feb. 15th, it's unclear why Reid would hold the votes before the February 5 Super Tuesday primary.

Democrats! You have the rare opportunity to make history by placing in the White House, a woman or an African American. This possibility can only become reality if you give the two remaining hopefuls time to get the numbers. Surely, any other business can wait

it is apparent that you folks dont know much about the senate if you schedule the vote for wed. after super tues. some people on these certain issue can make general election campaign ads if they vote mon. it gets some issues of the board. remember its not sen. clinton and obama, but GOP Mccain whose vote will get looked at the most because he the only sen. on their side that will get looked at closely. Reid is helping his party by taking a away two issue that could hurt us in general election. So here is the line the GOP will use the democrats dont want to protect you, like I can. The democrats want to send you a check and raise taxes to pay for it. typical GOP.

Are you ready for a McCain BUSH Ticket? As in Jeb Bush?
About 7 months ago, I spent several hours (stranded) at the Washington, DC airport and on the same flight from DC to Los Angeles being chatted up by McCain's' campaign manager who would not stop boasting what a great legacy the Bush family has to leave the American People. And! He boasted what a great President Jeb Bush would make for this Country.
I can only speculate that since George Sr and Barbara Bush have been such close friends over the past several decades, that McCain will repay that friendship and loyalty by calling on Jeb Bush to run as his Vice President.
Ever wonder why other Governors have endorsed McCain but Jeb Bush has been eerily silent during the primaries about who he is endorsing? It's because both Jeb and John know that Republicans will NOT vote for McCain if they know that a Bush will be the running mate.
Chime in folks and get the conversation out there before Super Tuesday!

Even though this call back to Senate business may be motivated by ulterior political motives, Sen. Reid is aware that the outgoing administration is trying to use the destraction of the presidential campaign to quietly implement laws supporting their neo-con New World Order agenda. It is not just a question of the Democratic leadership holding the fort, each and every Senate vote is important to derailing this Illuminati agenda.
