Clinton Secretly Visits Edwards; Obama Next

February 10, 2008 3:43 PM

ABC News' Eloise Harper and Sunlen Miller Report:

ABC News has learned that Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., met with former Sen. John Edwards secretly at his home in Chapel Hill, North Carolina on Thursday. Clinton's rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, Illionis Sen. Barack Obama will meet with Edwards on Monday, sources say.

Clinton initially told reporters that she was not asking for Edwards' endorsement immediately after he got out of the race. Yesterday, speaking in Lewiston. Maine Clinton said "I'll ask John Edwards to help with anything I do in the White House."

This would be an important endorsement for Clinton to secure, and is essential enough to her that she made a stealth trip to North Carolina, despite her busy campaign schedule. Clinton was two hours late to her first event last Thursday in Virginia, presumably things in the Tar Hill state tied her up.

Sen. Obama would very much like Edwards' endorsement too. Pundits have speculated that Edwards' populist message is more closely aligned with Obama.

Before exiting the Democratic presidential contest, Edwards secured pledges from his rivals to make fighting poverty a priority.

The meetings were initiated by Clinton and Obama, according to sources.

ABC News' Raleyn Johnson contributed reporting.

If Edwards endorses Clinton he will be a real disapointment to me. She represents everything he stands against. She takes money from lobbyists, she is status quo, she is so engulfed in the Washington ways that Edwards spoke out against. I do hope he endorses Obama, and I would love to see Al Gore endorse Obama as well- but dream I may.

Posted by: Sarah | Feb 10, 2008 4:33:17 PM

This, plus the firing of her campaign manager, begins to smell largely of panic. She's one more tearful episode from being gone from this race.

Something fishy going on!

Posted by: Ron | Feb 10, 2008 4:44:30 PM

Meeting with Edwards for any Candidate is a huge win. However it is sad to see that she was late to her town hall meetings because of it and forced all her loyal constituents to wait.

Posted by: I for O | Feb 10, 2008 4:45:07 PM

I saw a motorcade getting a police escort the other day. I was wondering what was going on and why there was no mention on the local news. I bet that was her. Maybe, I'll run into Obama on Monday!

Posted by: kings2beat | Feb 10, 2008 4:45:40 PM

I believe Senator Edwards must endorse Senator Obama. Senator Edwards ran from the start, knowing that Senator Clinton was the establishment candidate. He chose to run against her. I remember well the passion I heard in Senator Edwards voice in why he was runnning for President in two different town hall meetings he had in Concord, NH in the 2004 race. That same passion and beliefs should lead him to endorse and fight for Senator Obama. Only Senator Obama can rally the party, the independents, and Republicans to bring about the change that Senator Edwards himself believes in.

I hope Edwards endorses Hillary Clinton.
We definitely need the changes that she
can bring to america

The intellectual mind of a Republican: The Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act (1980) established the ANWR (Arctic National Wildlife Refuge), But someone forgot to tell GW Bush before he stood in front of the cameras during a speech he made and spoke these words:"I think it is a good idea to start and build ANWR in the Artic, it's beautiful country up there. You can all visit and see how beautiful the Artic country is."

Posted by: Angela | Feb 10, 2008 4:57:13 PM

I am a republican, I feel John should just switch parties, and run against McCain. He would get my vote, I am sure among many more.

Posted by: Marilyn Oliver | Feb 10, 2008 4:59:29 PM

I hope Edwards endorses Hillary because Obama has been using Big Pharma tactics to swiftboat Universal Health Care.

After learning that Obama has brought the "Harry & Louise" campaign Big Pharma used to defeat UHC in the 90s we all know Obama is no populist.

I hope he saw the article in the NYT about Obama lying about passing the nuclear energy in IL after he watered it down for his donors at Exelon.

Edwards should also remember that Obama swiftboated him and accuses him of losing those Whirlpool jobs even though Obama's donor's at Maytag had a big say in those jobs being shipped overseas.

Supporting Hillary Clinton is like walking around with a handful of mashed potatoes and gravy on Main street.

Posted by: wiseowl | Feb 10, 2008 5:04:19 PM

Well as an Edwards supporter that voted for him AFTER he suspended I will have to say there is just NO WAY I can vote for Obama even if John endorses him. It is STILL my vote! I will be forced to write John in if Obama gets the nomination. You who think Obama isn't a dirty politician better do your research a little better...choir boy he is NOT!

The Dream Team. OBAMA/EDWARDS.

Posted by: Linda D | Feb 10, 2008 5:16:05 PM

If anyone thinks that things are falling apart in the Clinton campaign and think she is about to fold up her tent an go home is living in self deception! She is not one tear away from getting out. At the very least she's pretending to have a broken wing to draw away what she perceives as preditors away from her nest. The Clintons are very calculating and I would be disappointed if the drama were any less calculating and media free attention getting as it is. There has to be drama in order to keep the media focused and interested in what she's doing, and she is going to play it up until the bitter end. And for the media, the more bitter the more better blues!

Posted by: Dale | Feb 10, 2008 5:21:44 PM

When is Hillary going to release her tax returns?

Posted by: Sloane | Feb 10, 2008 5:22:20 PM

I was a supporter of Edwards, if he endorses Obama, I will vote MaCain.
MaCain is a moderate.

Posted by: Pat | Feb 10, 2008 5:24:28 PM

Hopefully John will remember the nasty, false robo-calls the Clinton campaign made about him in SC.

Posted by: Janet | Feb 10, 2008 5:26:24 PM

Some idiot says we need the changes that Hillary would bring to America. Would that be like California spending 200 million dollars teaching first graders about alternative sex. Or would that change be like a 12 year old girl leaves school to go to church and goes to jail for it. Or a 12 year old girl leaves school to get an abortion and get full support from the school. Yes democrats are changing things for sure.

Posted by: demslie | Feb 10, 2008 5:32:14 PM

Hopefully, Edwards will remember the almost sneering dismissal of "John" in their last debate.

Posted by: Tom im MA | Feb 10, 2008 5:34:49 PM

I'm with Dale. With Clinton, we get drama for drama's sake. Really can't imagine four years of this - its fatiguing just to ponder the notion.

Posted by: Paul | Feb 10, 2008 5:37:31 PM

This is what Clinton need to do.I hope Edwards does support Clinton.
Clinton has the best national health plan, plus the best economic plan.

Obama plan for change is pocket change

Pocket Change Obama.

Posted by: warner | Feb 10, 2008 5:39:12 PM

Obama is a great motivational speaker, and gifted with a talent to inspire people to dream. Unfortunately that is about all he is. I can understand why people, after the past 8 years, are so desperate to believe in a better future, but people need to recognize that talk that is not backed up by real knowledge, experience and understanding of the world will get us nowhere. Seriously people need to take a good realistic look at the world around us and understand what it will take to turn it around. The Republicans and their status quo will not simply give up in the face of Obama's nice flowery language and idealistic intentions, nor will America's enemies abroad. It will take someone strong and pragmatic who has the experience that is invaluable in order to make real changes. That person without a doubt is Hillary. Not only does she have her heart and mind focused on change and a better future, but will also have the capability, judgement and strength to actually accomplish this.

Posted by: Johnny D. | Feb 10, 2008 5:43:34 PM

GO HILLARY GO! I don't care about th flavor-of-the-month candidates.

Hillary has been a fighter for over 30 years and they've thrown everything including the kitchen sink at her, but she is so resilient!

I hope to God that she makes history in 2008. It's time for a WOMAN!

Posted by: Brad | Feb 10, 2008 5:48:43 PM

For all those naive folks who thinks Obama doesn't take money from lobbyists, you should check your facts. He has taken more money from Big Pharma than any other candidate. It's a fact. Edwards even pointed that out during the Nevada debate. He has also taken more money from energy companies and their executives - and we're talking about companies that promote dirty coal and nuclear energy. Don't be fooled by rhetoric.

Posted by: MHHUNT | Feb 10, 2008 6:01:36 PM

As a middle-class women, juggling job and family, I strongly believe Hillary Clinton is the voice of the middle-class and the unfortunate in America. I for one hope, John Edwards will support Hillary Clinton. I also believe John Edwards would make an excellent Attorney General , for he knows how to fight for the little people.

Posted by: jp,michigan | Feb 10, 2008 6:04:17 PM

Wiseowl: I give you a BIG Amen. Obama is all smoke and mirrors. Would someone PLEASE tell me what his main platform is? If it gets down to Obama and McCain, I'm for McCain all the way. Anyone who spent 5 years of his life in a Vietnamese prison camp and survived, deserves to be president. Obama is way too risky. Hillary Clinton has more devotion to this country than anyone I know. Can you think of anyone who has spent almost 20 years researching Health Care Reform? Who will put that kind of time in? It takes a village to make sure Obama isn't running our country in a few months.

Posted by: Jen4Hil | Feb 10, 2008 6:05:19 PM

So the new line is the world is a dangerous place, and only Clinton has the judgment and experience we need.

Not buying it. She overstates her experience and I haven't seen any judgment I can recall as noteworthy.

I'll take Obama as president any day of the week. At least he seems to understand the job. With Clinton, you get the feeling she sees it as chief executive office of the nation. Obama understands the president is only chief executive of the executive branch of the federal government.

Posted by: Paul | Feb 10, 2008 6:06:58 PM

If Obama really cared about the US of America, He could have waited 4 yrs. before he ran. Hillary is the best one to be our president. He knew what would happen if they both ran. (divide the party). He is still a young chick and he could have done alot to help Hillary. Instead, he is greedy. If the Reps. win it will be his fault and the McCains will stay for another 8 years. At the last National Convention when they addressed him as a Rising Star, boy he ran with it. He is more of a good speaker I give him that but to intelligience I give it to Clinton. We cannot go wrong with her. What is Obama trying to proof anyway? Just watch, If Obama gets it, he will not beat McCain. The Replicans will rally and there goes our time.

Posted by: jane Garcia | Feb 10, 2008 6:10:11 PM

it's typical that She does things in secret and Obama makes it transparent to us all.

I'm so sick of the Clinton drama and secret dealings. Time to turn a new page for a different kind of politics.

Yes, give Hillary another chance at taking all of the furniture in the Whitehouse. They need the money from the pardons. Four more years of their tedious melodrama - you have got to be kidding. The Hillary supporters are brainwashed.

Posted by: disambiguates | Feb 10, 2008 6:11:36 PM

Jen4Hill - can you really, honestly tell us you don't understand Obama's platform after nearly 12 months of this campaign?

Wow. That's an incredible statement about any candidate - I feel I knew the campaign positions of the last 10 candidates across both parties.

If you want detail on Obama, go read his website, or google to find independent, non-campaign sources. These blogs aren't a good place to gain information. In a way, these are like the Colbert Report - entertaining to us junkies, but it helps to have a good understanding of the news before you get there.

Right... the way to serve the country best is by not offering its citizens too many choices.

When asked by pollsters leaving caucus locations last night to name one thing Obama had done-nobody could answer. How frightening is that. If I wanted to vote for charismatic big talk I'd vote for Brad Pitt.

Posted by: molly | Feb 10, 2008 6:19:23 PM

The problem with the Clinton campaign in the general election is two fold. One it will galvanize the Republicans and two it will fracture the Democrats. How can you win with that? Recent poles that matched Obama or Hillary proof this point.

Hillary is a politician while Barack Obama is a leader. Inherently, she tries to expand her support base by trying to divide the country into groups with “us” versus “them” mentality. Inherently as well, Obama tries to lead by brining everyone together by focusing on a common ground. Mind you, there is a distinction between working across the isle and brining people together. The former is limited in its scope, while the later has no limit in the possibility it brings.

We need a leader and not a politician in this election!

Posted by: Tom | Feb 10, 2008 6:19:27 PM

I'll be very dissapointed with Edwards if he endorses Hillary. That would make him a real hypocrite to me and million of others. Remember how strongly he was against Hillary's status quo? How can he then turn back and endorese her? Im even surprise he hasn't endorsed Obama up to this day because his policies were more in line with Obama's. What holding him back not to endorse him? If he really loves this country and wants to see the changes he desires, he should endorse Obama and not hillary.

Posted by: Louis | Feb 10, 2008 6:21:23 PM

If Edwards Supports Hillary, it will look like a white Southern conspiracy to defeat Obama (and he will look like a hypocrite). Not a good idea!

Posted by: garba maigoro | Feb 10, 2008 6:27:23 PM

I think it is an excellent idea to ask for Edward's endorsement! The Apaches say you should keep your enemies close and your family far away. Edwards was certainly competitive!

Posted by: Suzannaquanashawn | Feb 10, 2008 6:34:12 PM

I am very much in line with most of those who think Edwards will support Obama. Edwards is a southerner with southerner's values. He pretty much stood against many things supported by Hillary. His values and beliefs lean more to the Obama's philosophy. He is a wise man and he will make wise decisions I would hope.

Posted by: Fafa Ceesay | Feb 10, 2008 6:37:54 PM

Maine has just been called for Obama.

So, make that 19 out of 29 states.

Posted by: Paul | Feb 10, 2008 6:38:38 PM

Who has experience for the presidency? It seems that those with experience are the ones who messed this country up in the first place. Great leaders like great athletes are those who can inspire others to greatness. Men who had a dream to start a new country like the Ben Franklin and Thomas Jeffersons in our history. Barack Obama is that man for today. He represents all that America claims to be. I guess most of you doubters would rather he stay around Washington so as to be contaminated by the very thing that we say we want change from. No one can inspire Americans like Obama, and if you ever listened to him you would know that he states his positions quite clearly and he knows that the task ahead is not easy but with our help we can all make change happen, I'm inspired, my children are inspired, my neighbors are inspired. I invite all you you to get on aboard this train, America for all Americans is finally on it's way.

Posted by: WordSource | Feb 10, 2008 6:39:16 PM

Think, folks!

If Hillary runs and loses it will set women back 50 years.

And she will lose against McCain. Where does her "experience" argument go against him?

Also, McCain known as a crusader against earmarks and she is known as the "Queen of Pork."

Polls show she loses to McCain whereas Obama wins. Where is the change if we get Bush 3 by McCain?

Posted by: Sam Dobermann | Feb 10, 2008 6:40:15 PM

John edwards voters and his platform are non educated blue collar workers. Edwards is also a universal healthcare guy. A son of the poor south. How does he now go and throw it all out the window to support the Starbucks crowd Obama. You know the same african americans who voted 3% for Edwards in South carolina?

you know, the same John Kerry who SNUBBED him and got on the Obama train?

How does edwards possibly ignore all this and jump on the Obama campaign is ridiculous in my opinion. If he is loyal to his campaign and his fight for the poor, its Clintons camp he should endorse.

Posted by: tom | Feb 10, 2008 6:43:53 PM

I wish that the writer of the article would check their spelling ...... the state of Illinois and the Tar Heel (not Hill) state!!!

Posted by: Liz Toney | Feb 10, 2008 6:46:41 PM

I hope he endorses neither of them. If he was to do so, there is nothing to hold them to their promise to not only talk about fighting poverty and all the other policy proposals he has, but to actually follow through with action.

Its closer than yesterdays margins. I think currently its 57-43. But given how the state was considered a toss-up this morning, another day of good news for the Obama camp.

In these type of political meetings, you meet with the person you are saying "no" to first, i.e. - Hillary. Edwards is meeting with Obama tomorrow to say "yes."

Posted by: douglasdao | Feb 10, 2008 6:52:56 PM

Is Hillary trying to "Bribe" Edwards with a VP spot for his endorsement? Smells like that to me....Some Fuzzy deal I cant understan

Posted by: Louis | Feb 10, 2008 6:53:28 PM

I love those who paint this story as another "plot" by Hillary by doing this in secret. The media creates these sensational headlines and you fall for it. It was known two days ago that Edwards would be meeting with BOTH of them at his house. Obama will meet with him tomorrow. I wish people would also stay on topic and have a real dialogue about what these meeting could mean.

Posted by: Noreen | Feb 10, 2008 6:54:44 PM

I just hope that Hillary recognizes that many of the angry, bitter leftists (people like me who read firedoglake and are secure in our gender identification) want Bush impeached as a war criminal. Unless Hillary recognizes the extreme left and our agenda of hateful rhetoric, she will never get the nomination.

Posted by: twin_peaks_nikki | Feb 10, 2008 6:55:02 PM

Hill's excuses that she have been outspent in Barack's sweep just debunked
her claim of her vast 35 years experience, perhaps like the vast right wing conspiracy. It also exposed her mismanagement of campaign finances that
debunked her vow of micro-managerial ability ! So, she is down to her last
firewall in Texas. Ohio won't help her just like how Missouri didn't her her
with the white votes. Northern white voters are more open to a black candidate than Southern whites, specially after they'll hear Barack speaks from the heart and see nothing phony about him. Barack's strong support comes from the Youth who have the natural ability to detect a phony from a distance and that is very true. Hill can't overcome that, and no amount of re-programming can help her change her phony persona and no amount of deodorant can hide the Clintons' bad political smell ! No one can deny that it is Barack who have been able to bring
in so much voters into the primaries more than anyone else, and Super delegates should consider that before they cast their decision instead of letting the Clinton ties bind them to her and risk alienating a very large swat of voters and dampen their enthusiasm. Texas may be the only realistic firewall left, but it won't bring her any victory at all. It can only bring a stalemate and toss
the race into the hands of Super Delegates. However, if Barack wins Texas, then we can definitely write the Clintons' political obit. Before I forget, perhaps another Hill tear up image might be of little help. However, considering the writers are going back to work, that may no longer catch the attention of TV viewers.

Posted by: wilson | Feb 10, 2008 6:55:52 PM

Noreen-
Obama supporters can't do this because all they spew is hate toward Hillary. What they need to remember is that they will need her supporters if he is the nominee of this Democrat. I love this country too much to vote for a rookie like Obama.

Posted by: Mike | Feb 10, 2008 6:57:35 PM

Paul- you say "the way to serve the country best is by not offering its citizens too many choices."

Well I think that has already happened by getting it down to the media's choice and it's only February. The majority of voters have already been deprived of many choices.

Posted by: Noreen | Feb 10, 2008 6:58:43 PM

Rob-is-Right
They both have to earn my vote. Obama hasn't exactly been innocent, I have heard things he has said about Edwards and I have not been pleased. Michelle had even gotten in on the act. Of course now Obama wants his endorsement and has been silent except to co-opt Edwards ideas and not give him any credit.

I also don't appreciate being told who I should support, I have a mind of my own. Supporters can still vote for Edwards in the primaries if they chose to do so, regardless if Edwards does endorse someone. It is our right and we are not throwing our votes away.

Posted by: Noreen | Feb 10, 2008 7:07:05 PM

Edwards and Clinton's health care plans are the same. Obama has none- his whole campaign is based on nothing but hype and fluff. I am most concerned about health care, the economy, and lastly Iraq.

If John Edwards is smart, he will endorse Clinton. If Obama wins the nomination, this lifelong Democrat will for the first time since I voted for President in 1972 (for McGovern) will be forced to vote for McCain.

Posted by: peter | Feb 10, 2008 7:07:48 PM

the democratic side is not even a real election. Most of the dirt against Hillary is from her so called "personality" or "character." Who gives a crap about that. It is about the issues people, not that Hillary is evil for laughing in a debate (which I have read from time to time). Also, the argument for Obama is so vague. He can make change, he can move our country forward, he will do things differently, etc. However, most of his supporters have no clue HOW he will do those things. Oh it's because he talks so inspirationally in his speeches, and that is what they are basing it on. Also, 90% of African Americans are voting for Obama. What the hell is that? That is just voting by race not the issues once again. If 90% of women or 90% of white people are voting for Hillary, the media will go nuts and talk about how crazy it is and that people aren't voting rationally. (BTW Im neither white nor black) For Obama, that 90% of Black votes is OK and the media does not respond negatively about it. The republicans are probably laughing at the democrats because the party is extremely divided. Many people are saying if ______ wins then I will vote for Macain. The only way the democrats can even win against the republicans is if Hillary and Obama join together.

Posted by: sam | Feb 10, 2008 7:12:41 PM

Mike- I think what you are trying to say is that people here need to stay on topic. I agree with you on your one point. Not to paint all of Obama's supporters with one broad brush, that would not be fair. But I have read some awful, venimous comments about Hillary on many sites. So much of it is very sexist, having nothing to do with her policies, etc. Considering polls out there say most people would not vote for a woman for president no matter who it was is a sad telling sign.

Posted by: Noreen | Feb 10, 2008 7:18:36 PM

A huge warning to Democrats- Barack Obama if nominated by the party will not win in November- The party is making a huge mistake this this man.

Posted by: peter | Feb 10, 2008 7:19:06 PM

Everyone knows it is divisive to vote in racial terms, and I think African Americans cannot surely expect to break heavily for Barack because he is black and expect to be treated in a race blind way everywhere else? It has all the characteristics of a coming backlash.

Posted by: shravan | Feb 10, 2008 7:19:55 PM

Sam wrote"if Hillary runs and loses it will set women back 50 years".

The Clintons have already set women back 50 years. I am amazed that the Hillary crowd so easily forgets that way they savaged the women who complained about Bill exposing himself and worse.

The governor of Kansas,Sebelius, is in fact a great candidate. If we could get the Clintons off the stage, we would get these good people.

Secret meetings that make you two hours late to greet your supporters. Not traits i look forward to in my president. Tom- A correction, not all of us Edwards supporters are non-educated blue collar workers. That includes myself and many others I know. We just believe in his message and his detailed policy proposals. I grew up poor but have never forgotten where I came from and appreciate that I worked hard to get where I am now. Edwards wants that for all Americans.

Whether Clinton or Obama--- "Attorney General John Edwards" would be a huge win for the United States!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: GL | Feb 10, 2008 7:23:16 PM

Just from the way Edwards campaigned, it'll be surprised if he endorses Hillary. I've a feeling, Hillary may be more likely urging him not to endorse Obama. Looking at past endorsers- Obama seems to have the message and ability to get endorsments that he needs. Kansas Gov, Washington Gov, etc.

I hope Edwards not only endorses Obama, but campaigns for him in OH and TX. Edwards can appeal to the demographics that haven't gravitated to Obama yet

I am still not convinced that the Iowa caucus was not filled with non-residences. Their caucus rules do not require proof of residency or any ID at all for that matter. Would explain the sudden surge of people registering on the spot. There were reports from precinct captains of many people showing up who they never saw before in the many months leading up to the caucus when they went door to door. I am not a conspiracy theory kind of person, I just wish there would have been some research into this. It might explain the large number of votes for Obama or maybe not. The media might not have called his victory a sign that he will take the nomination. We probably will never know for sure. What is done is done.

Posted by: LongT | Feb 10, 2008 7:39:20 PM

Race card? Its also something called demographics- which also includes income, educational attainment, AGE-

The Demographics thus far have shown that Mr. Obama has one in either the following; States that are caucuses, with a small 'boutique' white population that is highly educated' states that have a high African American Population;

He (Mr. Obama) has failed to wine any large state that has allot of diversity, with large numbers of wealthy, working class, those with older populations, less educated etc---these are social demographics- thus far Mr Obama has failed to win the states of California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Florida, AZ, New Mexico- all states that veer far from the boutique demographics that Obama has done well in.

Oh yes he may win Maryland and DC as well as VA- all states that key into his demographic strengths.

GL please--

Rob-is-Right
I really don't get your last point about Clinton having anything to do with my comment. If you think about it, the result in Iowa gave Obama the boost he needed so that by the time we got to the states you mentioned, I live in one, people were convinced to vote for him even with a lack of substance on his part. Add to that that we were stuck with just two candidates to vote for by this time. I won't get into why I think so many people are supporting Obama because I don't have the time. I won't be responding to anymore of your posts considering your obvious hatred for Hillary. I don't support her but I am sick of these venimous postings against her, not just from you but many others. Some of which are very sexist in nature. . BTW, I am not playing "tricks", I just want to know the truth.

Hillary what you need to do is copy ever word by word MLK transcripts have your new manager copy all MLK transcripts for all your speaches. This is how Obama has been doing it, so if he does it so can you it will work for you as well what your old manager failed at was how to cheat like Obama, so get with you new manager to copy al for you now.

Wow!! There is No Other President That has ever had to do such, so thereforth why should she have to..I diffenently do see the Double Standards ALREADY.. I Must remind you all this Country is very screwed up in every aspect of the WORD..It is not a Job for a Rookie..That thinks he knows how to come in and Clean up this Mess the Bush Administration has made and is going to leave for the next President, We All Really Need to get the BIG Picture..So in saying all above, Hillary Clinton is the most Qualified the Democratic Party has to Offer to Clean House..Any Body can make Promises, come right in and do the same as any other President, But when it comes to getting things done, Shes like a Mother and a Good Mother, and those of us that have one, KNOWS A Good Mother Gets the Job Done ALWAYS, Every Single Time!!

EDWARDS DON'T GIVE UP ON THE POOR AND THE NEEDIEST BY EVER ENDORSING OBAMA. HILLARY HAS REAL SOLUTIONS THAT HAVE BEEN ANALYZED BY SEVERAL ECONOMISTS' SHOWING THAT HER PLANS WILL WORK.

FOR EXAMPLE, ON HEALTHCARE: THE NYT RELEASED AN ARTICLE THAT COMPARED THEIR TWO PLANS SIDE-BY-SIDE (THE FIGURES WERE DERIVED BY A WELL-RESPECTED ECONOMIST AND IS SUPPORTED BY MANY ANALYSTS).

HILLARY'S HC PLAN:

ANNUAL COST - $124 MILLION
COVERAGE - 45 MILLION PEOPLE
COST PER NEWLY INSURED - $2,700

OBAMA'S HC PLAN:

ANNUAL COST - $102 MILLION (80% OF HILLARY'S COST)
COVERAGE - 23 MILLION (~50% OF WHAT HILLARY'S PLAN WOULD COVER)
COST PER NEWLY INSURED - $4,400

HILLARY'S HEALTHCARE PLAN IS BY FAR SUPERIOR AT EVERY VANTAGE POINT AND; THEREFORE, MORE LIKELY TO PASS LEGISLATION.

HILLARY STANDS FOR REAL SOLUTIONS THAT AMERICA NEEDS MORE THAN EVER!

Some people are crazy about change, but look at the change Bush has brought us. When people talk about change without specifics, it's likely that they will do us more hard than good.

BryAnn: Get your facts straight. Here new campaign manager has been with her for years and worked on Bill Clinton's campaign so it's hardly to get votes.

I wanted to bring something up to everyone. I was curious why Obama did so well in Caucus states and not as well in those that have a regular vote. I did some research and found that Obama, on his website, when answering frequently asked questions about caucuses, instructs his people to say the following:

"I'm an independent (or Republican). I can't caucus, can I?

As a matter of fact, you can. There is no party registration in Washington. Upon signing in at the caucus you will need to attest that you are a Democrat to participate, but you can switch your affiliation just for Caucus Day. You can be an Independent, Republican, Green, Libertarian or anything else the next day."

So it appears to me that much of Obama's so-called great caucus support in Red States is an anti-Hillary vote and not necessarily a pro-Obama vote. This seems unethical for Obama's campaign to do this!

Surely John Edwards will endorse Barack. He was more closely alligned and ran a clean campaign unlike the Clintons.

Although they(Hillary and Bill) are claiming to turn the campaign around and that Bill has "realized his mistakes" (good grief-how he behaved was as an attack dog not a suppportive husband!), they are a calculating, well oiled, political machine. They will do and say anything to get elected.

That is not how I saw John Edwards. I hope his integrity holds firm and he endorses Barak, not Hillary who won't come clean with where her bail out $$ came from specifically.

Clean campaign Diane, read my prior posts!
Anything to win I guess!

Diane: Specifically, if it is possible, what kind of unclean things have the Clinton's done? Obama attacks her on a regular basis and all she can do is grin and bear it or be accused of being racist.
