Bill Clinton: Texas and Ohio or Bust

ABC News' Sarah Amos Reports: The day after Sen. Hillary Clinton added two more states to her election losing streak, her number one surrogate and husband, Bill Clinton, told a crowd in Beaumont, TX that if she doesn't win Texas and Ohio, she most likely will not win the nomination.

Watch the VIDEO HERE.

"You probably like it that this election has come down to Texas and Ohio. If she wins Texas and Ohio I think she will be the nominee. If you don't deliver for her, I don't think she can be. It's all on you,"  Clinton told the audience right at the top of his speech.

In the past few days, Clinton has made a point to stress the importance of winning Texas and Ohio.  However, usually the comments are optimistic and end with him saying a win in Texas will lead to a win in other states -- such as Pennsylvania -- and eventually get her the nomination.

In front of the crowd of about 500, the former President admitted Wednesday for the first time that a loss in Texas could mean the end of her campaign. It was an unusual statement for the Clinton, in what was an unusual morning of events.

The Clinton campaign held both of the former President's events outdoors, using the beds of pickup trucks as a stage. Attendees braved rain and wind at both events to come out and see Bill speak.

In Beaumont, handshaking was even cut short as light rain turned into a heavier downpour.

In Galveston, President Clinton made no mention of his wife's losses in Wisconsin or Hawaii Tuesday night, instead stressing her ability to win in a general election.

"We have got to elect somebody who can deliver the goods and go toe-to-toe with Senator McCain on the national security issue, economic issues and on the issues that affect our future," Clinton told the crowd.

And to get to that general election, Hillary needs Texas help, Clinton stressed again telling voters to really think about their choice and not just be swayed by speeches and feelings.

"If you want somebody who will put this country in the solutions business, if you want somebody who will move us beyond partisan politics by getting us to work together, she is your candidate.  If you want the feeling instead of the fact of change, if you want the speech instead of the solution, you have another choice," he said.

Clinton also urged to remember to vote in both the primary and the caucus, in order to give Hillary two victories on March 4.

"This is a big deal. it would be a sad thing if she won the election in the daytime and it got taken away at night - and the delegates - because we didn't show up," Clinton said.

Clinton still has two more stops to make today, visiting Victoria, TX before rounding out the day with a rally in Houston tonight.

It is disappointing that our great Democratic party ends up with these two unqualified, bickering, hollow, promise-making, promise-busting politicians.

I used to be excited by Obama. I concede that it was a hugely inflated event.

Nonetheless, I will never vote for Hillary, who and her sham husband will do anything to get elected.

Why is such a great party come down to htis? WHY?!

"Obama that you don't make incursions in an unstable, nuclear Pakistan, even to get bin Laden without their say so!"

Echoing what someone said earlier the CIA just DID this yesterday. And now that Musharaff's party has lost control in Parkistan, it looks like Obama was RIGHT! Bush got on t.v. on February 10th and made fun of Obama for even broaching this as an idea. Seven days later the CIA did exactly what Obama had suggested.

The more I examine his foreign policy record the more I see Obama being right BEFORE the other candidates. We might not like it, but Musharaff is going to fall and fall soon. We'd better start making other allies in the Pakistani Army as quickly as we can. Obama's right, just like he was right about the consequences of going into Iraq being largely negative.

Finally why is it even when Obama supporters give a substantial list of his achievements, ethics reform, nuclear nonproliferation, etc. Clinton supporters get even MADDER and say they're distorting Clinton's record? Look Obama has achievements, you might not like them but he has them.

Sashi---If Hillary wins the presidency of America--that is what she will be---not "Goddest OF THE WORLD"!!

I think Bill needs to look at the numbers again. His wife needs to win big in both Texas and Ohio just to keep herself in the running.

Who knew those little states had so many delegates?

to those of you who keep saying that obama voted against the war - he didn't!!!!!!!!! all he did was give a speech. he wasn't even a senator yet, just a part time state senator. and he gave the speech to an anti-war crowd, so it wasn't even a brave thing to do. and he admitted later that he didn't know how he would've voted if he had actually been in the senate to vote. i think he would've tried to be out sick that day - he always tries to not vote on anything that might be controversial later, so he can figure out what is the popular view and say that's what he was for.

I found Sashi a very powerful woman to claim, "Australia, UK, India, China we love Hillary Clinton".

Wow, Sashi represents FOUR countries! I bet you she is bigger than Hillary who could only remotely possibly represent ONE country.

By the way, Sashi, I am from China and sorry I don't love Hillary AT ALL.

i am from milwaukee, and i love the clntons. so many people who post on these bulletin boards have a thing about name-calling and bullying. "cba" offered probably the most pretentious blurb with the suggestion that texas somehow leans toward politicians of integrity. while you're making accusations ken starr couldn't substantiate, think about the 9/11 victims' family members who have been asking for basic information related to the bush administration's negligence in failing to protect us on 9/11, despite clear and persistant warnings that something terrible was about to happen.

The best, direct comparison of how each candidate would perform as president is to see how each ran their campaigns as CEO. Clearly, the Obama campaign was better thought out, better executed, and better led. Why would one think the White House would be any different?

Barack Obama is a hype by media. If he wins democractic nimination in August sure he will loose in general elections because There's no way the majority of Americans elect a freshman, inexperienced, no armed services or foreign affairs experience, african american name Barack Obama to the presidency of the United States during a time of war. I saw on the abc news some republicans saying they going to vote Obama on March 4th but they are not sure to vote OBAMA in general elections.
