Bush to Hold 10am Press Conference
February 28, 2008 7:50 AM
ABC News' Ann Compton and John Cochran Report: In a surprise morning press conference from the White House, President Bush will hammer -- again -- at Congress to restore what he considers vital wiretap authority, with legal protection for telephone companies that allow the government to tap their systems.
Bush will address reporters from the White House briefing room at 10:05am.
With economic storm clouds darkening, President Bush will talk about what the government is doing to help families with their high mortgage payments; so far, Bush has forecast no recession.
White House press secretary Dana Perino says in his opening statement, alongside FISA and housing reform, Bush will also press Congress to pass legislation on Iraq war funding and a bill that would increase funding for HIV/AIDS relief in Africa. He is still seeking $108billion for Iraq, and at least $30-billion for "PEPFAR" his Africa AIDS program.

Those of you ranting about impeaching Bush..... yeah right!! Clinton couldn't be thrown out even after perjury! You'll just have to put up with him for another 11 months! Suffer!!!!!

It is a shame that the press listen and propogate the propaganda from the administration and miss to ask the issues on accountability for both Bush and Congress on lost emails, lying to the public, torture, etc. If this is any sign of how accountability will work before a blank check on wiretaps, then big brother government and totalitarian states will exist in the name of democracy. It is shame that a third party player like Bloomberg didn't run, Democrats nor Republicans deserve the privilege to run the country.

Those KBR camps weren't built for profit only.
They want to criminalize dissenting, law-abiding citizens? Fine. Swell the list to millions. They're over their heads and they know it.
The Bush administration is a criminal enterprise, scrambling to cover-up its crimes.
If some politically convenient "catastrophic event" occurs, we know cui bono.

Revealing moment at today’s Bush press conference:
A president of the U.S. in his seventh year in office with a $800 Billion Dept. of Defense and $35 Billion State Dept., what does he know about Putin's successor, Medvedev?
“I don’t know much about him, either”

You Bush bashers seem to have the same comment for every single topic. It is as though you have pre written responses before you even see the article. This is the tactic Clinton has used since last fall and it has backfired on her. Even the most liberal Dems got tired of it. That is why Obama will be in the White House next January. He stopped the blame game.Instead of treating Republicans as the enemy he simply treats them as an opponenet. Most Americans will stop listening to someone who is filled with so much rage and hate on EVERY single topic, like most of you are blogging on. I wonder if this rage is really going to stop once Bush is out of office or if most of you will find something else to be angry about. My guess is that is the kind of people you are and you will find other people to hate.
