Clinton Continues to Target McCain
February 09, 2008 12:50 PM
Sen. Hillary Clinton made her plea to the voters of Maine Saturday morning, arguing that she is the best candidate to take on Sen. John McCain. “The Republicans are about to choose Sen. McCain as their nominee –- I consider him a friend and a colleague, but I guess the Republicans like the last seven years and decided they want more of the same.”
Clinton went further, stressing what she sees as the importance of choosing a Democratic nominee that can take on the senator from Arizona. “It will be even more important if our nominee ... is running against someone with a record, with a legendary background of John McCain. And Democrats need to think about this, because we are picking a nominee that we expect to win. We cannot take four more years of more of the same and if you listen to Sen. McCain, he wants to keep troops in Iraq, he has said, for up to 100 years”
Sen.Clinton did include a line directed at her opponent, Sen. Barack Obama, as she generally does, saying to the crowd, "I'm not asking you to take a leap of faith on me."
Clinton, who has admitted to not favoring the caucus process, asked the voters to support her tomorrow. She said, “I hope you will come out and caucus for me, caucus for yourself, caucus for your future.” She added, "We have been on a detour from destiny," a reference to Pres. Bush.

So if she thinks she would be the best nominee to take on McCain, how come the polls show exactly the opposite?
*McCain beats Clinton in the following polls as of 2/7/08: Rasmussen, Cook, ABC/Was Post, Fox, NPR.

As a man, I am stunned by the lack of support you ladies have for one another. This election has got to be one the most important elections in American History. You ladies finally got the opportunity to have a female elected into the oval office and yet you do not support one another. It amazes me.

Blank name: This is an important election, so women should support the woman candidate? Sorry, don't see that logic.
Gorgon: Its easy to see who matches up best against McCain, without the polls. McCain is liked by independents. The Democrats need to nominate their best candidate with independents.
This isn't rocket science. The majority of Democrats will vote for the Democratic nominee, and the majority of Republicans will vote for the Republican nominee. Sure there's important questions about party base energy, etc. But all in all, independents will, as they always have, decide the winner.

This is not about INDEPENDENTS, majority of independents are the worst flip-floppers, so do not trust them. They are not the one who will decide the election. This is about the future of our country and the world. Amidst of tsunami of foreclosure, recession, healthcare, low-dollar value, war in Iraq, Americans are drowning. I do not trust Republicans anymore. Think about your future and your family if not how about your kids.

John McCain will Beat Hillary Clinton
like a Drum!
Her position on her pro-war Iraq vote and the six positions she has regarding
giving drivers licenses to illegals will
sink her like the Titanic!
She is a JOKE!

Us ladies do support Hillary, except for the passive aggressive ones who make daily comments on this site.
The majority of women are voting for her.
It's tempting to vote for Obama, but trying to compare him to JFK, like the media is pushing is not fair to JFK.
Remember JFK had been in the Congress for 14 years before becoming President
Obama's time will come and it will be in 8 years.
This is Hillary's time and I have no doubt she will do great things for our country.
