Clinton on Carville: 'My Job Is to Do the Best I Can'
February 14, 2008 7:54 AM
Sen. Hillary Clinton said her job is "to do the best I can" in response to recent comments by Democratic strategist James Carville that she's behind in the '08 race and must win upcoming primaries in Ohio and Texas to continue on. Carville, an unpaid consultant to Sen Clinton's campaign, previously led Bill Clinton's '91 presidential bid to White House victory.
"These two states are big states and are very reflective of our population as a country. And I'm going to do the very best I can to be successful in both of them," the New York senator told ABC New's Kate Snow this morning on Good Morning America.
Watch the VIDEO HERE.
Asked if Carville was right to put so much emphasis on Ohio and Texas, Clinton said her campaign is "making progress every day" on the road to the 2025 Democratic delegates needed to secure the nomination.
(For the up-to-the-minute estimates bookmark the ABC News Delegate Scorecard.)
"We are forging ahead and obviously we want to do well. That's why we are here," Clinton said. "We're running a vigorous campaign. We have a lot of support and we are going to be here working hard until we find out what happens on March the 4th.
Earlier this week, in a panel at the International Builders Show, Democratic strategist James Carville said of Clinton, "She’s behind. Make no mistake. If she loses either Texas or Ohio, this thing is done."

There's nothing wrong with us Americans. Be informed. Obama is bi-racial, his mother, a white woman from Kansas, his dad was from Kenya. Obama is not a muslim, he's christian. If you are going to comment, at least have your facts straight before you try to tell us what we should do for our country.

Omotola from Lagos Nigeria (West Africa)
America is in a crucial phase in its existence. The Economy is going sour and America has lost its dominant position in almost every thing
Now is the for a 'Leader' someone who can fix the economy and turn things around
Of all the candidates, Hillary's plan for the US seems the most superior.
America needs a 'fixer' not a preacher!!

I would have to agree with Ginger.
Get your facts right if your going to make such comments. Especially from Africa.

If Barack Hussein Obama is a person who will bring about "change" in Washington ...how is it that he has been in office for a few years and his only * (note) to fame is his 2004 Democratic speach...what policies has he made to "CHANGE" washington...he is such a great doer how come only people in IL knew him...if that is even true..and how come his policies are very similar to Hillary Clinton...she has been in office and established those policiies and fought for them...Barack Hussein Obama followers????...get off the band wagon the wheels will eventually come off ...whether he wins or not..wake up to reality

Just because a black government was not successful in South Africa doesn't mean it won't work in the U.S. Look at Detroit and New Orleans. Oh, I rest my case!

We have already had one Clinton in the white house and there was a lot of nonsense going on. I would like to see Hillary's insurance plan on paper before I vote for her. If the government is going to force people to buy insurance and they can't afford it, what kind of plan is that. We already have that problem now.

I find it so entertaining to listen to Obama speak. He says nothing over and over. We are going to go forward into the future (no kidding) etc..... I don't like Hillary either. I think the whole thing is pathetic. How is he inspiring anyone to vote for him, if they actually listened to him is beyond me.

This is America not some third world backward country like South Africa. Barack Obama is half-white and half-black, and is a Christian. And guess what? Under our constitution that doesn't matter anyway. Obama looks like he will be a great leader, regardless of race or religion, like that matters.

The people are starting to see through Obama's thin skin. Just ask the people of Janesville Wisconsin. When he spoke of "specifics" of his policy they booed!

I agree, all Obama says is Hope. Give me a break. I cannot beleive there are so many sheep in this country that will vote for someone basee on Change. A typical Obama speech. "We will move forward, not backward, we will go up down, we have been there, not hear, there is hope" Give me a break. Wake up America, I am not happy with any of them at all , but he is the pitts.

All this worry about Obama then get out there and get the vote for Hillary. Do you have a primary in your state or neighboring state? Do something. Talk about Hillary's solutions. And, if you are a Republican worried, do the same so McCain doesn't have to face OBAMA. Do it today. Learn about Hillary, stay away from the media

Has anyone other than myself noticed that once OBAMA became the front leader in this race it became about race of all of a sudden? The uneducated start trhowing around words like Muslim, Black and unamerican.. and then the really uneducated comments on unexperienc. The man has sponsered or co written over 1000 bills. It's simple to see if one just goes to the ILL. web site. He has held office for almost 8 years, not the 4 that the Clinton Kool Aid drinkers spout..what I really wonder if how she taught them all to lie so quickly? or if that is just another group to add to her supporters? Poor, Single Mothers, Latinos and the Uneducated are now to be joined by the liars.

We are going to have to make a choice. If Hillary goes down, it will be between Obama and McCain. Isn't that like every other election that we have had ? I agree that Obama only trots out his white half when it benefits him. He has no plan, no specifics, no experience. McCain looks like another four years of the same old. If you take a closer look at Obama, he is politics as usual. He takes money from the big guys, tows Ted Kennedy around like a trophy that he won. You can't criticize him or you will be portrayed as a racist. The political cartoonists better be looking for a new job if he becomes President.

Iwould like to know more about him he just came out of nowhere and I should vote for him
Posted by: Bishop | Feb 14, 2008 9:28:34 AM
What a joke, the only educated voters are Obamas. Stop all the insults. These are just primarys, once the general election rolls around he will be squashed. He will have to answer a direct question, and the answer cannot be HOIPE. Give me specifics, and dont refer me to some web site. I want to hear it from the horses mouth.

obama is not muslim. get your facts straight.

Ya know - I think Obama would be a good president. However, I'm pretty sure that the right wing Republicans and Conservatives in congress will give him a devil of a time. There will be compromises but I hope Obama doesn't compromise on the key issues - jobs staying in this country, universal healthcare and getting us out of Iraq. My guess is he will be a bit weak and will try to work with the other side. But, as we all know, those with the money control America and I'm afraid they will end up controlling Obama. I hope I'm wrong but we've all seen what Washington does or does not do.

Obama - finally someone who reminds us that it is us not the President who runs this country - the power of inspiration over programs is exponentially increased voter participation! Americans know that they can fix this country if they show up at the polls and for decades they haven't, to finish Bush w/yet another Clinton run is the most despicable voter discouragement campaign Rover ever devised! How a woman who sat through over a decade of Wal-Mart Board meetings never once standing up for unions can get any endorsements is pure machine politics and fortunately for the world, they appear to be dying on both sides of the aisle - good riddance!

Why do all you Obama supporters hate rich people? Have you ever got a job from a poor person?
Posted by: akinca | Feb 14, 2008 9:34:38 AM
Inexperienced???? Tell me, who can you name in recent political history, or even the non-political arena, that has created so much inspiration, hope, and excitement about who we are as a people? I'm ready to work, and work hard, as an American to rebuild our country. Wash out the dirt and grime that the "experienced politicians" have left in the White House (including Clinton)! Obama's experience is standing the people of our country UP is a positive way. And the WORLD is taking note!
