Clinton Pokes Fun at Obama Referencing Celestial Choirs
February 24, 2008 3:54 PM
ABC News' Eloise Harper reports: Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., continued to critique presidential rival, Sen. Barack Obama's speaking style, poking fun at him speaking in Rhode Island Sunday afternoon.
"None of the problems we face will be easily solved. Now, I could stand up here and say lets just get everybody together, lets get unified." Clinton continued, "the sky will open, the light will come down celestial choirs will be singing, and everyone will know that we should do the right thing and the world will be perfect. Maybe I'm just lived a little long but I have no illusions about how hard this will be. You are not going to wave a magic wand and make the special interests disappear."
Clinton continued to attack Obama, D-Ill., for misleading voters about her health care plan saying what was "inexplicable to me is his refusal to put forth a plan for universal health care. And his continuing attacks on my plan to do so. I believe Senator Obama says one thing in speeches but his campaign does something else" Clinton charged. "In his speech he says he has a universal healthcare but his plan is not. His plan can not cover everyone because there is no requirement that people be covered."
Clinton held the rally in Providence, which was sandwiched by two fundraisers. The New York senator acknowledged that her Democratic rival was out-spending her in this state, but reassured her supporters that she was raking in one million dollars a day, She then urged her guests to go to her Web site to see what she is doing, and asked for a little help as well.
At a rally in Toledo, Ohio, today, Obama responded, "This morning, apparently, she said, 'well, ya know, it's just an illusion, it's a delusion to think that, somehow, you're just going to wish all the special interest power in Washington away, that you're just going to somehow wish it away, that they're just going to go away, because you hope it happens.'
"Well, she's right about that, but it doesn’t help if you take a million dollars, or 2 million dollars, or 3 million dollars, or 5 million dollars from lobbyists for the special interests. It definitely won't go away then. Anyway, we can change our trade agreements to reflect the interests of all people. We can invest in infrastructure in this country."

Again the straw man. Obama never says the sky will open, blah, blah, blah. Just Clinton building a straw man that is easy to tear down.
And again the claim that Obama is misleading voters about her... in this case, health care proposal.
Obama says it includes a mandate on individuals. Is that not true?

NAFTA= closure of fabrics in Ohio, Hillary care or a mendatory care for everboy=communist Cuba has the same system, but even there it is better, because it is the state which has mendated itself to provide universal health care for everybody which by definition is a coverage of 80% of the targeted population.

Hillary, PLEASE stop the senseless bickering and call it a day. You're destroying the country's current enthusiasm for the Democratic agenda.
And please take a loser look at the general election polls. Here's Iowa for instance, just came in today:
A new Des Moines Register poll in Iowa shows Sen. Barack Obama would beat Sen. John McCain in the general election, 53% to 36%.
However, McCain would beat Sen. Hillary Clinton, 49% to 40%.
Beware, Iowa is expected to be a competitive swing state this fall.

Obama's own words:
“I serve as a blank screen on which people of vastly different political stripes project their own views,” Mr. Obama wrote in “The Audacity of Hope, his I’m-running-for-president book. “As such, I am bound to disappoint some, if not all, of them.”
THINK ABOUT IT. O KNOWS HE WILL DISAPPOINT. HILLARY IS RIGHT. BHO DOES NOT HAVE A MAGIC WAND AS HIS CULT DELUSIONALLY BELIEVES. GO AHEAD HILLARY POKE FUN HAVE A GOOD TIME AND.....WIN.
IT'LL MAKE POLITICAL HISTORY!!

OH and HILLARY never said Obama said the sky will open and there will be celestial choirs, she means the religioso nature the O campaign and its flock have taken. Many act like born agains and are up in arms to defend their savior Barak Hussein Obama. If you were Hillary would you give up? If the answer is yes, then you shouldn't be running for President.
Posted by: JJ | Feb 24, 2008 4:21:12 PM
JJ - shouldn't she give up when it becomes clear she can't win and will only serve to further divide the party?

i am posting this here because i cant find where to comment on this week with george st today. in the comedy section he conveniently missed saturday live opening showing how the press is in love with obama, sometimes i think george instead of being nutural trys hard to show he has no favortism towards the clintons without which he wouldn t be where is is at today. also why hasn t any of the press reported the black union conference in new orleans yesterday of which hiillary was the only one to take time out to address. and also while watching this program all day it came thru that blacks who support hillary are being harrassed and targeted by the obama followers for not supporting obama. why does the press cover up this story????

What a rant she is on now. If Obama is as worthless as she says he is, why did the two of them spend the first 45 minutes of the TX debate agreeing with each other? She is so misleading...Obama frequently says he knows the insurance and drug companies will not just give up their profits easily so we can have universal health care. Is she just not listening?

Kevin - that's the oddity of Clinton's Obama-is-such-a-nothing line. It doesn't explain how Obama against all odds could now be winning so decisively in the delegate count.

If one wants to explore what is true and what proposals are workable one only needs to research the information. It's very much available. When you do, you will see that the Clinton camapign is either misinformed or just ignoring the facts on any and all the issues. Which is not how to run a nation. Ms. Clinton often will say she is unaware of certain important events ie the report on Iraq and husband having many affairs. No thanks I need someone who can see the reality not just what suits her. Clinton Campaign message is NO WE CAN't . If the numbers where switch the Clintons would be telling Obama to leave the race. She is hurting the Democratic party like no other. Can someone look into the case that will be addressing Clintons invlolved in illegal camapign fund raising? That would be alot more interesting than the MCain story. The case has already begun and they will be called to testify. Why is this not on the news? Any other canidate would have to answer to something as interesting as this. Come on News people get to work.

Mary Johnson. I am from Iowa and I can't not believe you. Obama will not win the Nov elec. Sorry. These polls mean nothing right now. As the Republicans are voting for Obama right now.I will write Hillary Clinton in when Nov comes around if she doesn't win the Dem. party.Obama is a good talker and that is it. I saw him and was asked by him if I would vote for him. I said no and he called me a racist. That is the kind of man everyone wants for a president? I was learning toward John Edwards. Obama isn't what everyone thinks he is. Then his camp called me wanting me to work for them I said no he isn't the one I would want for a president and then I was called an racist by them. I should vote for someone like that. No way.

Hillary is burning bridges in places she'll need support should she become the nominee. How much support can she expect to receive in states where, after losing their primaries, she then simply downplayed their importance?
Posted by: Jim | Feb 24, 2008 4:46:42 PM
Poge77, you are a republican, do not even try that racist rant, it would not cut it, go ahead and vote for Mccain that is okay, do not lie about wanting to vote for Hillary. Democrats would rally around whoever the nominee is, just as you Rush Limbaugh republicans are rallying around Mccain.
Posted by: Emo | Feb 24, 2008 4:51:11 PM
Jim, that's an excellent point. The way Hillary has been downplaying the decisions made by Democratic voters, and her refusal to even thank her own volunteers publicly after losing states has been an amazing failure on her side. Those folks will not easily be energized by her name on a ballot again.

At least I know that if HRC loses to Obama, I can vote for Nader , but most likely I will go McCain . Why take a risk and let 666(The Beast) take command?
Posted by: David | Feb 24, 2008 4:56:02 PM
I'm soo sick of HRC waiting until the debate is over to kick scratch and scream. He has factually tor apart her "uni health care" plan. And now she's pissed? I hope in the Ohio debate she goes after him on all these issues she's screaming about so he can put her in her place once and for all. She's been taking pot shots at BO from the beginning on things that don't matter! When he calls her on things that matter everyone who supports him is a dillusional cult-member. If this is your way of turning the people around who want change, Please concede now and put yourself out of this embarrassing misery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: Alease Grant | Feb 24, 2008 4:56:18 PM
she is going down like screaming like dean. she is losing it.

Uh-Oh, the face of jealousy has once again reared its ugly head loud and clear and its taken on the life form of Hillary Clinton.
Her continual meltdowns on live TV, at her (small) rallies and during debates when she seems to switch personalities right before our very eyes several times within a 40 minute time frame leads us to wonder about the obvious large amount of pharmaceutical meds she must be on and are they funded by her Universal Health Care program? I'm beginning to have a lot more sympathy for Bill than he ever got credit for just by tolerating this nagging witch.
She's obviously spreading herself too thin and it's way too hot in the kitchen - She can't stand the heat. Take your dignity, take a breath, and take a walk, Hillary.
I don't know about you guys, but I'm a little scared of what we'll have to witness during Tuesday's debate, however, I guess that's dependent on which or how many different Hillary's show up that night.

You have all seen T.V when people are asked questions like "Who is the Vice President?" people don't know. Americans are not well informed, Obama followers are delusional, they are without facts.
Posted by: Latasha | Feb 24, 2008 5:06:36 PM
Wow, Jim and Maria,
I thought maybe I was the only one crazy enough to see Hillary's failure to acknowledge and thank her volunteers and supporters in the States she lost was rude, short-sighted and indicative of what she really thinks of voters and how she would discard you once you had given her your help.
I also thought that if I was one of the people who are constantly told I didn't count and my support was not even important enough for Hillary to compete for I would never vote for her or support her or her policies...even if she became President. I prefer even the Baptist Minister Huckabee to her who, at least, is continuing to run to give a voice to a group he fears may not get much voice in a (god forbid)McCain White house
