Clinton Worried About Safety When Cheney Leaves Office

ABC News' Kate Snow ad Eloise Harper Report:

Sen. Hillary Clinton dipped into her own hunting experience when answering a question about gun control, and in effect delivered one of her longest question and answer sessions in Wausau, Wisconsin on Monday.

Clinton took almost every last question on the day before the Wisconsin primary -- topics ranged from abortion, healthcare and social security. The senator's events in Wisconsin on Monday were very reminiscent of what she did in New Hampshire where she would take many questions with the hopes of winning voters over one at a time.

On guns, she said, "I have hunted. My father taught me how to shoot. I went duck hunting in Arkansas I remember standing there in that cold water it was so cold at first light I was with a bunch of my friends - all men -so the sun is up and the ducks are flying and they were playing a trick on me they were saying were not going to shoot - you shoot they wanted to embarrass me so the pressure was on. And I shot a banded duck they were as surprised as I was."

A man stood up and voiced his concern about the Vice President's hunting abilities.

"As long as you know how to use a gun, would you be willing to show Vice President Cheney how to use his?" he asked.

"That was good, that was really good, you know I couldn't believe that, I really thought I have gotten over being totally outraged by the Bush administration." Clinton said, and then expressed her fear of Cheney when he is out of office when he will no longer have his agents protecting him.

"Once he his out of office the secret service is not around to protect people from him. We better be careful about where he goes hunting. Safety protocol would be useful, don't you think?"

Clinton was then asked, "Will Chelsea replace you after eight years?" Perhaps trying to dissuade voters being reminded of the legacy issue she tends to want to stay away from.

"No, no, no, no, no" She said, "I'm very proud of her, she will be back in Wisconsin tonight."

sorry again you are naive, I do that and take care of my riding lawn mower, and most of the other home repairs and chores. AND can cook a very tasty dinner. Grow up. Women can multi task in high heels.

This is the same woman that votes to confirm bills that she didn't want the Senate to pass, while these same bills destroy many American lives. Can somebody please Federal Express this loser a psychiatrist!

Hillary no more went duck hunting than Chelsea was jogging in lower Manhattan when 9/11 occurred, and she (Hillary) found out about Monica Lewinsky along with the rest of us. Oh, and she didn't really know that the war authorization bill she voted yes for was really going to authorize war. I'll say this for Hillary- she has recently mastered the art of crying, but is not- as is her husband- a convincing liar.

As Hillary Clinton said, "We're fired up and ready to go!"

Oh wait...

When Obama was teaching at a college, would he have allowed one of his students to just say that plagiarism doesn't matter? Or to put it in his words..."borrowed lines not a big deal?"

OH wait... this is Saint Obama who can do no wrong that we are talking about.

We all know that politicians are big BSers, it's in their nature, otherwise they wouldn't be politicians. When all is said and done, either Democratic candidate will be better than McCain. That's not saying much but.....

What if Hillary or Obama actually win, and what if they actually institute a 'National Health Care' plan, and what if this plan is run worse and handled worse than our social security embezzlement (which, chances are, it will be) You all realize that once it is in place, it will NEVER be dismantled. There isn't a person on earth that will be the president that 'did away with health care' even though it created worse health care than we currently have and bankrupted this once proud nation.

Well, I think many or most of us know why the Republicans are against universal health care. It's because it's just better for society if the weak and poor die; this makes the surviving species stronger. Y'know, as Darwin taught us.

Do ask Saint Obama about Larry Siclair. I think we all have a right to know.

If Hillary handles Universal healthcare the way she managed this campaign, we're all in trouble.

It seems she went to the GW Bush school of hiring.

You Clinton haters really amaze me.

Sen. Clinton says she hunted, not hunts. Maybe she went duck hunting some 30 or so years ago. But naturally she can't possible have done that, it is just BS to try to inpress someone into voting for her.

Out here I know several women who go hunting deer, antelope, and elk with their husbands and in some cases are better shots than their husbands. I also know a few who are pretty fair mechanics when it comes to car repair.

As I have argued over the past several years this nation is far more sexist than it is racist. Many of you certainly prove my point.

I am a registered republican supporting Sen. Clinton and will probably vote for Sen. McCain if Obama is the democratic nominee. I didn't like that GW used drugs in his younger days and I do not like that Obamamites simply write off Obama's having used them in his youth as a youthful indiscretion. I also am concerned that today's issue of plagarism is looked at by both Obama and his supporters as no big deal. Where I was teaching, one was automatically suspended from college for plagarism. I have concerns about Obama's connection to Rezko and Exelon.

Finally, change generally costs money. From what Kudlow wrote a few days ago Obama's proposals price tag so far is $800 billion. He also says that repealing the tax cuts for the wealthy will not pay for his proposals. Who do you suppose is going to pick up those additional costs? I would guess it will be the middle class as usual.

Obama has a hidden agenda. He reveals as little as possible & tries to sucker in the votes. There is a fool born every minute.

The American Nurses Assoc. has endorsed Hillary for President. They KNOW her Universal Health Care Plan will work & will be better than what we have now.

Posted by: georgie | Feb 19, 2008 2:59:33 AM

800billion by which accounting standards, the GOP's.. the party that said read my lips.. the party with the biggest deficit in history.. I am sure they are quite the authority!

Jay - that was true a week ago, about the 10 point average Clinton lead in Texas, but not sure its true today.

The poll Henry cited isn't the only one. Two internal state polls that came out yesterday or maybe the day before also show a statistical tie.

Still, I think Clinton probably has a lead there, but I also think there is some tightening.

Posted by: Paul | Feb 19, 2008 8:00:56 AM

And that tightening is bad enough news for Clinton, because she needs to net 25 delegates or more out of Texas.

Posted by: Paul | Feb 19, 2008 8:03:07 AM

She also needs to net five delegates out of each of the 14 smaller states remaining, beginning today with Wisconsin and Hawaii.

But there's always Plan C. Plan B was to win with superdelegates. Plan C is to promise stuff to the pledged delegates, and get them to shift. Its a little secret about the Democratic Party. Even the pledged delegates, won via primary and caucus votes, aren't bound (despite the name). There's an article this morning about how campaign staffers are confirming Clinton will go after these people if needed. She's not doing it yet, but its a possibility.

Seems she has no problem disenfranchising voters, when they don't vote the way she wants.

For those of you who want the universal health care that Hillary wants to implement, have at it. Just don't take my money for it. I happen to be using it for insurance that I PAY FOR, NOT to buy a big screen tv, spinners for my SUV and eat a pizza every night.
It's called responsibility people. Thanks.

Read the communist manifesto people. It looks eerily like the DNC platform. You people need to get informed and stop following like lemmings!
