ABC News' Matt Stuart, John Berman, and Ursula Fahy Report: Fmr. Gov. Mitt Romney, R-Mass., tried again to tie Sen. John McCain to Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. Hillary Clinton on the issue of illegal immigration Sunday.

Speaking with reporters after an event in Glen Ellyn, IL, Romney made a point in his introduction to note that "Barack Obama said that Sen. McCain’s position on illegal immigration was virtually indistinguishable from his."  Romney continued, " I think it does make sense to have a candidate representing our party who’s positions are distinctly different from the Democratic potential nominees."

When asked if he thought Clinton and McCain were similar to each other, Romney again said that "also on the McCain-Kennedy bill . He's virtually indistinguishable from Hillary Clinton or Obama on a number of major issues our country faces."

Romney also dismissed McCain's campaign stop on his home turf in Massachusetts today.  "I don't know why he's campaigning in Massachusetts,"  Romney said, later adding "I don't think it will help him a lot."  Romney emphasized that he "expect[s] to get a lot of delegates from Massachusetts."

Romney also has an event in Missouri today before heading on to Tennessee.

Romney WAS a freakin' Democrat! Jesus! I mean granted, they're ALL liberal's but at least be honest about your past. McCain's been a conservative longer than this opportunist. He's whole campaign is a lie. But if conservaties are dumb enough to believe him, then they deserve "Mitt's world." If Romney and McCain are Republicans, then it is NO LONGER the Republican party. In fact, the Democratic party is far becoming more Republican than these pathetic RHINO's. Disgusting! Any true Republicans worth their salt will stay home than stick with these two. No question about it.
