Abc_obama_burger_080229_mvABC News' David Wright reports: This picture comes courtesy of my wife Victoria, who has been minding the store in Washington DC with our 11 month old daughter and our crazy dog while her husband is lost on the campaign trail deep in the heart of Texas.

The restaurant where she ate apparently features a specialty campaign-themed menu item: the "Obama burger."

Garnished with caramelized onion, bacon, provolone cheese, Russian dressing and other fixings, the Obama burger appears to have no relation whatsoever to the candidate or his campaign. Campaign staffers acknowledged it sounds delicious but that it is probably not something the candidate himself would ever consume.

Obama is known to watch his diet carefully and to work out regularly. Already lean, Obama is said to have lost 5 pounds on the campaign trail.

pray for Hillary,

I read the first reason, and I couldn't believe your very evil intent.

How dare you lie to us, "In Arkansas she was instrumental in straightening out their school system - taking it from one of the worst systems to a role model used by other troubled schools on how to improve public education."

Arkansa school went from No. 48 out of 50 among the nation, to No. 46!

How was it from being the "worst" to "role model"?

Once I saw the firts lie, I knew you are a LIAR!

Bye bye Hillary and your 100 reasons to vote for YOURSELF.

This is in response to PRAY FOR HILLARY

Hillary Rodham Clinton often invokes her "35 years of experience making change" on the campaign trail, recounting her work in the 1970s on behalf of battered and neglected children and impoverished legal-aid clients.

But there is a little-known episode Clinton doesn't mention in her standard campaign speech in which those two principles collided. In 1975, a 27-year-old Hillary Rodham, acting as a court-appointed attorney, attacked the credibility of a 12-year-old girl in mounting an aggressive defense for an indigent client accused of rape in Arkansas - using her child development background to help the defendant.

The case offers a glimpse into the way Clinton deals with crisis. Her approach, then and now, was to immerse herself in even unpleasant tasks with a will to win, an attitude captured in one of her favorite aphorisms: "Bloom where you're planted." source newsday.com

Hillary is an opportunist, and will do whatever it takes, WHATEVER...

Pray fo' Hillary, I support Hillary, but your message is beginning to look like spam everywhere I go. How about the top 3 reasons, keep it readable.

Pray for Hillary is right. Jen, recheck your numbers as to the time Hillary's took effect. You are confusing the data.

Let's get back to that burger. Maybe Obama wouldn't touch it, so if its okay, I'll take his share.

Rasmussen has Ohio within two points.

And contrary to what Mark Penn says, Clinton has to net an advantage of 60-70 delegates Tuesday, just to have a shot at getting back in this race. Winning by a couple points isn't going to do it, no matter how big the state is.

Posted by: Paul | Feb 29, 2008 10:13:23 PM

Tonight, I watched the Lou Dobbs report on CNN and saw, once again, that life long Democrats, usually in their 50's or older, are renouncing their ties to the Democratic Party.

In growing numbers, senior, middle class Democrats (one of the largest voting blocs) are becoming disillusioned with the party's recent direction and are replacing their party affiliation with "Independent."

These new Independent voters view an Obama candidacy as a hostile takeover of the Democratic Party, a coup with the potential installation of a left-wing, minority regime.

Members of this group will not usually specifiy who they WILL support, but they WILL NOT support another bid by an extreme Democratic candidate.

While some may view such statements as mere speculation or attempts to derail the aspect of an Obama candidacy, I believe that the trend is real and growing exponentially.

From personal experience, I believe it to be true. Today, after being a registered Democrat for over 34 years, I filled out a new voter registration card and changed my affiliation to "Independent."

Posted by: Ken | Feb 29, 2008 10:33:32 PM

Ken, couldn't agree more. in my state (texas), we don't officially indicate our party affiliation, but we are still renouncing our ties. along with everyone i know who is 50+ and a lifelong dem voter, i have made it clear that i will vote for mccain this fall. our party has betrayed us one too many times, either by selecting the most unelectable candidate possible (like mcgovern, for whom i voted and who won only one state), or by selecting the candidate whose views are so far to the left as to offend those of us who are more moderate or centrist in our democratic views (like obama). there comes a time when one must realize that loyalty just for loyalty's sake makes no sense. the democratic party has taken us for granted, and ignored our views, for far too long. we will no longer accept it. perhaps they will finally get the message when mccain wins in a landslide in a year in which the democrats had to work really, really hard to find a way to lose. if that happens and the democratic party learns something, it will be worth it. if not, we will be in for more decades of republican domination of the white house and the democratic party will have only itself to blame.

Posted by: so saddened | Feb 29, 2008 11:37:59 PM

so saddened..

why would you renounce your affiliation now? why wouldn't you vote for Hillary?

IT AIN'T OVER TIL IT'S OVER....

GIVE'EM HELL, HILLARY!!!!

Posted by: questioner | Mar 1, 2008 12:19:32 AM

questioner, absolutely - i've already early voted for hillary. and she can still pull it out. my comment was that, unless our party comes to its senses and nominates hillary, i'll vote mccain.

Posted by: so saddened | Mar 1, 2008 12:26:32 AM

Dems want party unity and will not get it without a dream ticket. Reps want party unity and will not get it without a dream ticket. Indies dont care about party unity but want a dream ticket... the indies will determine who wins in Nov...

Clinton can beat McCain in a tight race without Obama but Obama cannot beat McCain without Clinton IMHO... they will take him down based on Rezko/Beirut/Syria/Iraq money ties along with the lack of experience and record...

btw Obamites, please dont drink the koolaid LOL

Posted by: DCVoter | Mar 1, 2008 1:46:48 AM

Can someone tell me why stuff like this is on abcNEWS.com?

Posted by: tony | Mar 1, 2008 2:05:02 AM

For all those Democrats who wouldn't vote for Obama just know that there are just as many who won't vote for Hillary. And more Independents would (and are) voting for Obama. That's why all the Republicans want Hillary to win...it will be a shoe in for McCain. Be careful what you ask for!

Posted by: Janet from NH | Mar 1, 2008 8:16:07 AM

Wow, Eric is such a genius. But I just have to say, I am a lifelong Democrat and I am just so concerned about the direction that Obama is taking the party. How can we possibly win with such a candidate? If he wins, I'll renounce my party affiliation! Everybody I know is renouncing the party, and we are all going to climb onto big iron submarines and go to the bottom of the Atlantic if Obama wins.

Or at least that's what I say on these boards. In reality, I'm either a Republican or a Clinton supporter playing the "concern troll" role. Get hip, people!

Posted by: Concern troll | Mar 1, 2008 10:39:33 AM

I think you are mistaken if you think the people posting here are not real. I have talked to hoards of REAL LIVE Hillary supporters. With the exception of one person the rest will either vote Hillary as a write-in if she doesn't win or vote for McCain right out. I myself will vote Hillary as a write-in. I don't wish to send a message by voting republican, I will simply send my message as being a vote for the candidate I feel would do the best job for the country. If this benefits McCain, so be it. I will not vote for someone I believe is incapable of running our country.

Posted by: Firefighter | Mar 1, 2008 10:47:22 AM

While I am not criticizing anyone's right to vote write-ins, I think it is important that we know what that really means. Per election law, any candidate who seeks a party nomination and does not get it cannot declare themselves a write-in candidate. The only write-in votes that are counted are the ones that have official document declarations accepted for the associated polling locations. So, if you vote for any party candidate as a write-in, ou effectively are not voting.

Posted by: DCVoter | Mar 1, 2008 11:02:44 AM

You can post as many points as you like.

Hillary has no character.

She wakes up with a different personality each morning.

Her husband disgraced the Whitehouse and the American people.

Hillary cannot even run a campaign.

She does not listen because she is convinced she already knows everything.

Posted by: JB | Mar 1, 2008 11:31:38 AM

Pray fo Hillary: Let's tackle these one by one...on your first point, could you please tell me the office to which Mrs. Clinton was elected when she was "Instrumental in straightening out their school system..." in Arkansas?

Posted by: H. Aslan Aslani-Far | Mar 1, 2008 11:33:00 AM

Pray fo Hillary: No response on that one? Okay, let's skip ahead to your second "reason". How does Sen. Clinton's stance on those rights go as far as Sen. Obama's who has been praised by the community for his stance while Sen. Clinton has lost supporters because her plan falls short on establishing those same rights?

Posted by: H. Aslan Aslani-Far | Mar 1, 2008 11:39:01 AM

Concerned Troll - that was pretty funny. But rest assured, these message boards don't well represent reality.

Most of the party will unite behind Obama, in my view, which is somewhat validated by recent polling on the question.

Every nominee loses a certain percentage of his/her party members. Oftentimes, its because they wanted a different nominee. This year, sure, the Democrats have to consider the possibility that it will be a little larger than usual because both Obama and Clinton have such impassioned supporters.

That's just something Obama will have to deal with. So would Clinton, if she was the nominee. Things still look better for Obama than for McCain, at this point - but a lot of water to pass under this bridge still.

Posted by: Paul | Mar 1, 2008 12:02:31 PM

100 flavors of the same old kool-aid.

Hillary's only advantage is the enormous staff provided through the years to whom she delegated the singular strategy of furthering her personal ambitions. She was having fun, the main squeeze of a rock star.

Then she started to believe her own synthetic personna.

Then she jumped the shark, but is only just beginning to realize it.

Now she is arranging deck chairs. Watch carefully for clues on how they plan to parlay what's left into some way to remain relevant.

Obama is The new high of the day!

Fleeting advertising campaign. That is using ever aspect of advertising.

As they do with a candy, a soda or new drug.

The way they advertise a new movie. Trying to drum up business for a product.

No one knew about it before, seen it or knows any history on it. One of those new concoctions on the market.

Just go the limit to sell it to people, because they will buy anything if package right.

High pressure sales pitch, Unbelievable infomercial.

The trailer for it is so short, you can't see a clear picture.

There is no return policy on it, you buy it your stuck with it. As is!!! No guarantees!!!

Posted by: seah | Mar 1, 2008 2:00:21 PM

I would say there will be a lot more people upset at taking the party in such a negative direction...You all who will say you or others will leave the party are a result or the negativity that (especially in the last few days) has been brought into the process. Take the advice they use to give...

"If one candidate is trying to scare you, and the other one is trying to get you to think, if one candidate's appealing to your fears, and the other one's appealing to your hopes. You better vote for the person who wants you to think and hope."

Bill Clinton 2004

Go to both websites and see what their policies are (like I did when the candidates were in NH and I can guarantee most of you writing on here have not...yes you can list one candidates little speeches...and reiterate what someone else said Hillary would do or has done or Barack has done...but before you type do due diligence and look at both candidates accomplishments)... I was for Hillary until I did this.

not just copy and pasted lists from someone who doesn't know the other candidates "list" or the one minute speech you heard at the one rally you watched or saw from the one candidate you want to win... ...the answers to what their policies are, are in the details because they are both very similar...so and because of this it comes down to judgement and the ability to get as many republicans and democrats from congress to back you... and who will independents vote for...

Posted by: dl | Mar 1, 2008 2:33:14 PM

First, a Pew Center study just came out which says that Obama loses more Democrat support that Clinton - due mainly to women and poor whites not voting for him. Also, Republicans have been voting for Obama. If they would rather have Clinton in the election, why aren't they voting for her?

Posted by: tony | Mar 1, 2008 2:42:16 PM

Tony Republicans are voting for Obama because they are tired of the same old same old and truly want Barack's skills, tone and judgement.

Maybe just maybe Republicans aren't all that synister that they go vote because they have calculated that they can win the presidency if they go vote in the democratic primary and throw it off.

That is exactly the thinking we need to get away from. We are Americans before we are democrats or republicans.

Posted by: dl | Mar 1, 2008 2:55:48 PM

I could very easily go to Obama's website to see his policy platform. That seems to be the only way to find out where he stands. When he started out he didn't have a platform and he has stolen ideas form those who DID and improvised along the way. I wish I had a nickel for every time Obama has said Hillary was right, I agree with her. The man doesn't have an original thought, he simply mimics whatever looks to be working at the moment. I feel sorry for all the people who have jumped into this thing without realizing what politics is all about. They are going to be so disillusioned when reality hits them up side the head. Obama is a POLITICIAN and one out of Chicago where they are the known to be the most corrupt. The republicans won't be shy about digging up dirt on Obama and once he gets the nomination look for the mud to fly. Sadly it will be too late for the democrats.

Posted by: Firefighter | Mar 1, 2008 3:15:18 PM

Firefighter - c'mon people.
I will only say this, I would rather have someone (who does have his own ideas obviously,oy) who recognizes when someone else's idea is a good one or better (when it is) and acknowledges that...rather than someone who is hard pressed to admit they don't know, hard pressed to acknowledge others great ideas, and especially doesn't acknowledge when they were wrong...

(I hate to draw this correlation but it just hangs out there... I seem to remember another pol that didn't admit he was wrong)... that is a bigger problem than someone who inspires and groups many others great ideas into a plan.

and as far as no original ideas... hard to see how someone who didn't have any original ideas could put together as many indpired intelligent people as the Senator has.

He is a Politician and a lawyer - Do they always say what they mean?

He is a Good Public speaker - But had to take ideas, words, slogans, and speeches from others.

He Proclaims his religion is in everything he does. At 3am when Crisis arises, Will he stop and think about his religious convictions vs his obligations to his country, to see which to go with. Will he make Good government decisions based on his religion?

Experience - Social Issues - his main experience. Will he be Robin Hood? Taking from other programs, adding new taxes to the middle and upper working class. To pay for these. Will he have all programs for "All Americans" Or his special interest groups?

Global - Guaranteeing moneies to Global hunger. When the government is borrowing
to stay afloat.

Military - He is against war, then for it. Against military actions, then for them. Does he know what he wants? He contradicts himself so often.

Government - He says he wants to change it. Not improve, Not fix problems, But change it. His statement on, "helping him build a kingdom on earth", does that come under government or religion. Well either it was a irresponsible for a Candidate to make.

NAFTA - He is outraged with it, then he isn't, flip-flopping again. Securing our borders is a priority

Illegal immigration naturalization- he is 100% for it. It demeans all those who come to this great nation legally. Now to take the food & funding from his own poor and homeless and spread it around. But if we have NAFT we should not have both. It takes more money away from our economy, with federal funding, loss of jobs, and does not discourage more illegals from crossing our borders. That is like saying if they come across, in large masses and live here we will make them citizens.

I remember when Our nation was the strongest, richest on earth. Then we wanted to feed the hungry, help the poor, make new friends, and gave it all away. The rich got greedy, Politicians got greedy.

All in All if Mr Obama means what he says, he would have more influence and power in the senate. Or does he plan on changing all power and absolute control over to the position of the president.
Oh wait that would be a Dictatorship.

(nudges mr obama to put his hand on his heart) we still honor our flag & nation anthem in that way.

The burger sounds a little rich to me but so is Obama.Michelles little poor me speach was rich too. They must have made the minimum payments and never thought of paying down the principal. I just ask one thing. When Obama loses the election don't start burning down the country like the LA riots.
