Wash. Gov. Gregoire Endorses Obama
February 08, 2008 9:43 AM
ABC News' Jake Tapper Reports: Washington Gov. Christine Gregoire will endorse Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, today, the day before the Washington Caucuses.
Gregoire's endorsement was hotly pursued by both Obama and Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY. She is a "super delegate," which means she is free to select any candidate she wishes to support. Super delegates make up one-fifth of the 4049 total delegates on the Democratic side.
Clinton has the backing of both US Senators from the state, Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell.

I believe in you Hillary and I see you as my equal. I believe that you are as equally capable of managing the responsibilities of the President of the United States as any man, if not better. In my eyes you are “America’s Lady of Hope”, “America’s Lady of Hope” and I truly HOPE that you are elected the next President of the United States because I strongly strongly strongly believe what this country so desperately needs more than anything else is a “Little Mothering”. Stay your course Hillary. Get to the White House so that you can Mother this great nation back to health.

Did any of you watch the Presidential State of the Union address? Did any of you see Obama "turn his nose up" at Hillary and "look the other way" when she tried to shake his hand? What does that tell you about Obama's character, his demeanor, his mannerism? Is this the type of person you want representing the people of this great country? Obama has no class. To turn your nose up at a fellow democrat, let alone a lady, is in my opinion, rude and arrogant.
The Kennedy’s “Claim” Obama is the “only” candidate to bring this nation together and yet he shoved a “Wedge” between the Clinton’s and the Kennedy’s by accepting their endorsement. That doesn’t sound like a UNITER to me. Obama had to know “ahead of time” that seeking the Kennedy’s endorsement would create bad relations between the Clinton’s and the Kennedy’s and yet he still did so. Then, to make matters worse, he CHOSE to belittle Hillary in front of everyone in the room along with the millions of American’s watching the State of the Union Address. I mean, how low can you go; to do something so cruel to another fellow American. Regardless if Hillary is a Politician, she too is an American. What amazes me even more is that Obama did this right next to Ted Kennedy and Ted brushed it off like it was nothing. Like I said before, Obama doesn’t sound like a “uniter” to me. The man, in my opinion has on respect for America.
Can't any of you Obama supporters see Obama for who he truly is; a rude two-faced smooth talker with NO ideals of his own. Every single agenda that he speaks of during his campaign are ideals that Hillary thought of. Lets give credit where credit id due.
I BELIEVE in you Hillary. I hope you are elected President of the United States.

blank name,
It is insulting to imply a person should vote for someone because they share the same gender. That is a sexist statement. What do we owe Hillary? Is a historic moment? Of course. However, as usual history repeats itself and this will come along again. Only next time, it will come along with someone with less name recognition and more qualifications to justify our votes.
As far as Hillary being your equal. That would be true if you grew up in the subs, went to an Ivy league school, hi-jacked a seat in the senate based on your name, became a multimillionaire, etc. etc. If none of those apply, she is hardly your equal.
Now, I don't deny her what she has managed to do with her life, but one should not give her more credit than she deserves.
As far as the Kennedy endorsement - back off. If he should have saw that as being destructive, then the Clintons should have saw that getting the endorsements of 500 black ministers, black congressmen/woman, feminist, etc. as destructive as well. So, it's ok to put women against women and blacks against black? See, your arguments is plain silly. She has snub him as well, it's been documented, look it up. She is not some innocent princess.
As far as women being looked down upon, is was that a joke? Listen, Hillary has looked down upon her OWN gender and the lower classes.....So that was a really silly statement. I won't go into the details unless you want me too?
In any case my point is, don't try and manipulate us with trash talking her opponent. Everything you said against him can apply to her. Don't try and guilt un into voting for her because of her gender. In case you didn't know or refuse to accept, the world is moving away from such identity crap. I look forward to the day when baby boomers, my generation, are gone. Why? Simple, so my grandkids can live in a world with less division and baggage, which will only happen with a new generation.
BTW - I find it ironic that you - as a man - are telling women how to vote? Especially after you've given those historic examples. So, obviously, we haven't progressed as far as we'd like if you think you, or any other man, can tell us how we ought to vote. So much for having our own voice!

Great points, Donna. Really well said. Now, here's I think you oughtta vote... just kidding.
By the way, I'd be more than happy making a deal: as a man, I won't tell a woman how to vote ever again, if y'all stop telling me which is the proper default position for the toilet seat.
That said, go Obama (but I mean that as a general voice of encouragement, as opposed to an intent to tell others how to go).

It's nice that Chris Gregoire supports Barack Obama. Perhaps that will help the black voters in Washington to forgive her for belonging to an all-white sorority and never addressing their concerns about that. In 2004, John Kerry won her state with 200,000 more votes than Bush, but Gregoire only won by 200 votes. And a third of the black voters in WA voted for the GOP in that race, but 12% of black voters voted for Bush in WA.
Gregoire is an idiot.

Come on! She's not gonna win theses states. Why is Obama, "media darling" getting so much coverage, when everyone should've known the outcome.
Calm down. This guy is HUGE! But, we need to think about 8+8. And the only way that is going to happen is for her to go first.

In case you have forgotten or did not know, Hillary is NOT the first woman to run for National Office or POTUS. If women wanted to vote for the first female candidate for POTUS, that bus has left the station. This is a NEW historical moment - not a repeat - of what has already been done. Did you not know this or did you simply forget?
Posted by: Donna,
Donna, your post was VERY well stated. I couldn't have stated it any better.

Some politicians, such as Barack Obama, are looking to outlaw the payday loan industry. A large part of this intention was stirred by the flawed idea that payday lenders fall under the same moral values as illegal loan sharks. Being misinformed can accumulate some severe consequences. Although this statement is true, they take no notice of the genuine fact that the main source of these consequences is based on a course of action on inaccurate information. Sadly, a number of politicians have successfully passed legislation in their states, city and towns which controls, or even takes away your ability to get a payday loan. Now is the time to take action and educate your friend and family to protect your rights to financial independence.

High-level politicians, including Barack Obama, are in quest of limiting the American peoples’ access to on-demand, short term financial support. A number of cities and townships are attempting to enforce limitations on where these lawful businesses can operate. Still worse, is that several states, including Georgia and North Carolina, have effectively forced all-out bans on the trade, with several more trying to follow suit. Citizens all around the nation are looking to have their voices paid attention to by aggressive legislation that would eradicate the payday loan industry nationwide; Obama, and other mislead political officials, are pushing for an absolute ban in the name of personal political gain, in spite of the hundreds of thousands of eventual lost jobs in an already difficult economy.
