Chelsea Speaks
March 26, 2008 8:28 PM
ABC News' Eloise Harper Reports: Chelsea Clinton decided tonight to make the case for her mother's presidency with her mom by her side.
Chelsea, who has stood by her mother's side for many campaign events, introduced her mother, Democratic presidential hopeful New York Sen. Hillary Clinton, for the first time this evening in Washington DC at a low dollar fundraiser.
Chelsea decided tonight to make the case for her mother's presidency with her mom by her side.
In front of a crowd of about 2,500 people Chelsea sung her mothers praises saying, "I am biased admittedly because she is my mom and because I love her too. But I also passionately believe in my mother as a young woman and as a young voter and I now have been traveling the last few months on behalf of my mom and I have been just amazed by the number of people whom I’ve met whose lives have already been affected by my mothers work."
In closing Chelsea joked about her mothers desire to be a grandmother "not only for us and our generation, but for our children and grandchildren that I know my mother wants to have."
Senator Clinton beamed off to the side and said "I believe you just heard the best speech you will hear tonight but I could not be more grateful for the extraordinary work and commitment that Chelsea has made to this campaign over the last moths it means the world to me – but I as a mom I m just so proud of her what she believes is important for not just her life but our county."
Clinton said that she was "honored and thrilled to be competing for the democratic nomination" but admitted "this has been a spirited contest and it should be that is how America works best." After listing all of the things Clinton wanted to do, she said "none of this can happen by making a speech." The crowd cheered on Clinton's jab to her top rival - Chelsea Clinton held her hands by her waist and did not clap or express emotion for this line.

Chelsea is a bright, well adjusted, poised (and very attractive) young woman. The Clintons (unlike the Reagan and Bush families) did a superb job of raising their daughter in the public eye.
Everything I have ever read about the Clintons (the good and bad) always notes what great parents they are.

Is it just me or is anybody else sick of the Chelsea road show. ("I'm here to talk to you and take scripted questions so, SHUT UP", you know like Bill always says everywhere he goes) And "blogette" Meghan McCain. I don't give a rat's A! what they think. Jesus, do you really expect them to tell you the truth about their parents? This is worthless, stupid media filler. If staged questions with false answers from a sibling can get you to vote for a canidate, aside from their record; You should stick with "American Idol" and leave the Presidential election to the adults!

DCVoter,
That is a really good point regarding the delegates. I am sure there are many Obama supporters having buyers remorse. I have always felt Hillary should stay in until the very end....you just never know what will happen.

Hillary is a liar. Why doesn't her daughter answer questions? She is not the same teen in the White House anymore. She is now an outspoken member of a campaign (a losing one), and she doesn't want to answer the media's questions. Fine, but then she shouldn't get free air time without answering to the media to reach mass people. You can't get free campaign air time without having some accountability. We might as well take someone as biased as Rush Limbaugh and not hold his feet to the fire. I can't wait until this race is over. Obama has won. He has won the delegates, states, and popular vote. It's over for Hillary. Please quit now Hillary and save the Democratic party.

I am a white, middle class, college educated woman too. Having stated that, the major difference between Hillary and other women, at least those that weren't fortunate enough to live in the subs and be GIVEN a life, is we MOLDED and CREATED our own lives. We didn't have wealthy parents to send us to Ivy League colleges. We worked and went to a regular or the local University. We get jobs, positions, etc. based on who our husband(s) were/are. We weren't able to hi-jack a senate seat, with ZERO experience - whatsoever - in legislating.....Simply stated, most women don't enjoy the riches of life based on ZERO efforts of their own. Most of us bust our you know what. Most of us create our own opportunities, etc. etc. f'ing etc.
I am sick of WOMEN talking as if Hillary, is owed or is entitled to this, as if she WORKED damn hard all her life, etc. etc. etc. niether are correct. In fact, she has about as much exper. as G. W. B. I, for one, am not impressed with Hillary or what she has done. She hasn't done s- as far as I am concerned. What she has done, I have seen other women do in the community and those women have even less clout. Therefore, I'm rather disappointed that Hillary hasn't done more. In other words, Hillary isn't s-. She's not done anything and she is NOT OWED anything.
As far as the article is concerned, why is this girl even in the news? She feels her mother is ready, so what.

(THIS HAS BEEN A SPRIT CONTEST AND IT SHOULD BE, THAT HOW AMERCA WORKS BEST) really? so you think deviding the democratic party, with lies and insults from your husband, thats how america works best? how did this woman became a senator? but its new york they will vote for anyone, but im not sure america is ready for hillary,is this what she calls experience?

Well, Media blamed that student for improper question.
But the question came from reality. And there were Clintons , who put this girl into this case. You think – that was proper? Both of them: him with his improper behavior and Hillary, who trade her pride for First Lady’s chair.
That might be proper after that question Bill to apologize for the harm to the family and the questions Chelsea might be asked.
Clintons even did not think to do so , to shut out improper questions – one should have certain moral level to do so. The level, they did NOT have.
In all this patterns Chelsea did know, where she entered. And there is still a question – should she? She is one and only daughter among all the rallies . It does not seem to be proper. It is just same Clinton’s way “to do whatever it takes”.
They are shameless. Then why they want public to feel shame for them?
You always get what You give.
So Chelsea is , will and should get unpleasant questions.
It is p to her, to get out off these rallies or to eat whatever Clintons cook.

We are all so hot here. We have two great democat candidates! This is awsome. That we actually are choosing between two is really better stuff than I've seen in years. I wish I new more about Obama. I look and really havn't found much on his performance so far. Not to say there isn't an amazing amount of goodness to come, however, Hillary is a worker. Non-stop drive to the end, never-say-die worker on behalf of the issues that I am most interested in. She's like the one who runs the company while the other takes the credit...she's the one at your restaurant or factory that really get's stuff done but the fancier new boss gets the credit. This country is facing some real problems and we know what they are. We are living them. This time I think we should put the show-boating aside and pick the one who can kick butt and get the changes done that need to be done so all of us can live better stronger lives. I mean this also on a world level, not just here at home.

The truth will surface and I hope that there's still believe in the only candidate worthy of your vote, HILLARY!
BTW: Very good comment MMiller, thankyou.
