Clinton: I Have Earned Every Wrinkle
March 04, 2008 6:37 AM
ABC News' Eloise Harper Reports: Senator Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., making a final push before critical votes in Ohio and Texas (not to mention Rhode Island and Vermont) says she has earned every wrinkle.
"Granted, I am a little older and I have earned every wrinkle on my face and I feel just as energized about what we are doing," Clinton told a crowd of supporters on Monday in Austin.
Watch the VIDEO HERE.
The Senator continued to push her message of experience at her last rally in Texas before the voters go to the polls on Tuesday.
She was joined on stage with her daughter Chelsea Clinton and longtime friends/celebrities Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen (who earlier in the day told voters that Clinton "does girlfriend really, really well.")
In a marathon of television interviews on Tuesday, Clinton made appearances in every major market in Ohio (including Toledo, Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Dayton and Youngstown) and several in Texas. She also spoke with Spanish-language networks Telemundo and Univision.
Although several tried, Clinton resisted questions about whether she will get out of the race depending on Tuesday's results.
"Would you drop out or would you continue on if Ohio doesn't go your way," asked the CBS affiliate in Youngstown, Ohio.
"I think it's important we let the people of Ohio vote," Clinton replied.
"Do you buy in at all to the opinion that you actually need a double digit win in this state to keep the campaign alive," questioned ABC affiliate KXXV in Waco, Texas.
"No, I sure don't," Clinton responded.
The tactic, it appeared, remained largely the same as in recent days: the former first lady questioned Obama's opposition to the North American Free Trade Agreement or NAFTA in Ohio, emphasized her experience in both states, and made particular mention of her first political job as an organizer for then-Democratic presidential contender Sen. George McGovern.
There was some fun amidst the do-or-die drama.
In yet another affiliate interview, Clinton was asked which actress she would like to play her in a movie.
"Obviously somebody incredibly attractive," she said before adding, "Obviously, I have given no thought to that."
At one point, the interviews had to be halted for a coughing fit -- yet another sign of the long road both candidates have been traveling for over a year in pursuit of the still elusive Democratic nomination.

The Republican's New Agenda is to Stop Obama, they want to run against Hillary. They have so much dirt in their Arsenal on the Clintons just waiting to be Unleashed (movies, scandals, lawsuits, books) -- that is why Rush Limbaugh is Begging, Begging his listeners to vote for Hillary. Limbaugh declared: “I want the funeral music to play at some point to the Clintons, but not this early.” America, if Hillary becomes the nominee, we haven't seen nothing yet!
Who released the Canadian Memo and distorted its contents--, where did that come from and who called Goolsbee to a meeting and conveniently set him up? Who pushed up Rezko's trial which, was to start much later this year? Why did the Somali picture come out, along with Farrakahn endoresement and a radio jock mocking of Obama's middle name? Which was allowed to be played over and over again by the Main-stream media. We have to ask these things? Who wants to Kill unity and hope? Was this part of the Kitchen Sink or may be the Basement (Swiftboating)? I do know its dirty politics and until we reject this kind of politicking in America we will be a pawn in their hands, the people of power, and never find our true Independence and Voice which Obama is offering. The Evil Ones are just getting started, warmed up. Someone is trying to pull our strings. The Truth will come out, however. Hopefully, America we can see through this Rouse this time and elect CHANGE!

Hillary can't catch up. It's mathenatically impossible short of a landslide (65% or more) in all the remaining contests.
If she hangs on afte rtoday, she will only harm the party's chances. She has gone increasingly negative, throwing everything but the kitchen sink at Obama. This will take a toll if it continues for months. She won't win even though she's playing dirty, but it will give plenty of material for the GOP to work with.
It is a choice of putting personal ego ahead of the party. Does Hillary really want the Democrats to lose just to spite them if she can't be the nominee? Is Hillary really a Nader-like figure, who would rather the whole country go down i nflames than let a rival like Gore win in 2000?
This is dangerous for the party and the coutnry. We can't afford four more years of GOP rule. Is Hillary going to damage our nominee and make that happen? Does she want to be responsible for destroying America only out of spite, out of being a sore loser?
If Hillary doesn't bow out on March 5th, the party should, as Bill Richardson said, come together around whoever has a substantial lead in the delegate count -- Obama. We need to end this as a party and not let Hillary's personal ego ruin 2008 for us.
The GOP wants this to go on. The media loves bloody conventions for ratings. The Dems should be smart and wrap this up. We can't lose the country just because one woman doesn't know how to lose with honor!!
Posted by: Jenny | Mar 4, 2008 7:37:41 AM
It is beyond funny. If Clinton can't catch up with Obama in delegat count, why doesn't Obama just go on a "hope and change" world tour and just forget about primaries since he already won? Silly Obama math.
Posted by: false hope | Mar 4, 2008 7:59:38 AM
lluluadorl, I would say that you are the FOOL. Jenny has it exactly right. Why do you think Rush (the drug addict) Limbaugh wants people to vote for Hillary to drag the race on? Hillary needs to bow out if she doesn't win Texas and Ohio today, otherwise shes just hurting the party. We need to go from the worse-in-history to the best-in-the-future. Obama 2008!
Posted by: pt | Mar 4, 2008 8:01:07 AM
Pathetic. Why did Republicans tamper with the results in Iowa and other close contests in Obama's favor? Because they want to face him in general election. Simple as that.
Posted by: false hope | Mar 4, 2008 8:07:16 AM
PT, Not suprised. Birds of the same feather... You are equally pt..able! When your senses come back, you can then engage the rest of the world in normal discourse. Right now, i see you are beyond redemption. "Best in the future"? Where did you get that?

lluluadori, I would guess you voted for dubya the past 2 elections. I guess people like you will just never learn. Of course maybe you are one of the lucky rich people that did prosper during the bush-cheney disaster. I know many republicans that will be sitting this one out in November because that don't like McMore-War. That would be the best thing that could happen for everyone in this country. Obama 2008!

McCain's war vote is going to haunt him all through the campaign if Obama wins the nomination because Obama didn't vote for an invasion of Iraq. Since Hillary voted for an invasion just as McCain did, she has little ammo to throw at McCain and she'll run out of ammo before he does.
Posted by: jon sid | Mar 4, 2008 8:37:24 AM
lluluadorl I agree with you. I feel now the media are starting to do their jobs Bill Richardson does not make up a whole democrat party, so his endorsement doesnt really matter. It obvious that he going obama way. just do it damn it. There are 16 more states to hold primaries.
Posted by: toby | Mar 4, 2008 8:46:54 AM
On another note, has everyone heard that El Rushbo has officially endorsed Hillary and has released his Trolls to shill for her? It is on his website.
I'd say the momentum may be changing to HRC due to the new Hillary/Limbaugh Alliance.

Obama didn't vote for an invasion of Iraq is because he was not in the Senate at the time. He couldn't vote. I didn't vote neither.

Toby, Welcome. If Richardson was so important or popular, how come he couldnt stay in the race? Hillary dont need them. We, the voters, got her back. Every one will vote before we know the winner. And it will be hillary

Hillary is quoting Betty Davis who said "I earned every wrinkle on my face."
Posted by: Mare | Mar 4, 2008 9:10:46 AM
Hell, we've all earned every wrinkle... and why does it matter if she does "girlfriend" really, really well?
What we need is someone who'll pull us all together despite differences in gender, color, party affilitation, age, etc.
We don't need Hillary's wrinkles. John McCain has wrinkles. Bush has wrinkles. What do wrinkles get us?
Let's vote for Obama and move on, Clintonian wrinkles notwithstanding.

It's quite interesting watching Democrats eat their young - these posts are a good example. However, as always, any problems are ultimately caused by the Republicans - or Rush Limabaugh. It's laughable because you can't bear the thought that you are doing it to yourselves. If you have this much disarray among yourselves the Republicans can just sit back and watch the implosion. However, you have to have your boogie man, so we're happy to take the responsibility.
And please, get off the drug addict comments in regard to Rush. It's so last year - and don't you want "change and hope" as you look to the future - you're living too much in the past that Obama wants to free you from. Ahem.

It doesn't matter who comes out on top of the Democrat dirt pile. Looks like McCain in 2009 whichever way the mud is slung.

"Obama didn't vote for an invasion of Iraq is because he was not in the Senate at the time."
Can we say this just one more time, loud and clear? Yes, he wasn't in the Senate at the time... he was RUNNING for senate. He made that speech when it could have cost him dearly. Only Hillary would call it nothing more than an "anti-war" rally... for Obama, it was what he was standing for, and he had everything to lose at the time. THAT takes courage... and honesty... and conviction. And that's what Obama has built his reputation on.
Posted by: ozamerican | Mar 4, 2008 9:20:36 AM
I don't care whether it's Hillary or Obama at this point, they're both fine candidates and I would rather have either of them (or, preferably, both of them) at the helm and soon. Let Texas and Ohio do this democratically, if it drags on to a brokered convention so be it. Anyone who believes that Saddam Hussein caused 9/11, that some second-class Americans don't deserve weddings, or that the Iranians will give us flowers after another quick six-week war if we elect John "Bomb Iran" McCain, please, by all means, vote Republican. The rest of you? Vote for change, but work for it too, because that change will require the sweat of every single one of us who wants it, no matter whose smiling face is on the label, Hillary's or Obama's.

As an Ohio Republican I voted for Obama this morning. Democrat poll workers were a little upset, but I wasn't alone as there were quite a few other republicans crossing over. We all had the same motive. Get rid of Hillary now. We do not march to the Limbaugh toon. Limbaugh is an entertainer and his endorsement means little. (Democrats are infatuated with entertainer endorsements.) We will all be voting for McCain in the general.

it that long time (democratic)senators or governors don't get the nomination?

As shown by the "Steve smith" memo above, many of the attackers on these blogs are disenfranchised Republicans. These folks disenfranchised themselves by voting for George Bush, who created eight years of destruction and a nine trillion dollar deficit. They continue to perpetuate ignorance by interfering in the Democratic party nominating process. If they had any accountability and humility they would be hanging their heads in shame, instead, and would keep their mouths shut for the next eight years, while the Democrats repair the country.

Simply look at Hillary's record, and it's obvious why the American electorare is rejecting her. Reviewing Hillary's methodical playing of the "Race card", and "The Perpetual Victim" against Obama; her inability to control her own campaign finances; and, her recent commentary on: Iraq; Pakistan; Energy Policy; her stated intention to confiscate the profits of American energy companies; the need for her to control the 14 Trillion $ American Economy from her White House Politburo (this from a woman who hasn't managed so much as a corner vegetable stand, or for that matter her own marriage; but, of course you could count Whitewater, and her tenure as "Madam" and Bimbo Containment Chief for Bill's White House Brothel); her Marxist statement in San Francisco: "We're going to have to take more from you, and give it to others for the common good."; Illegal Immigration; Taxes; Infanticide; Massive new Government spending; Multi million $ Senate earmarks for supporters of Hillary's Presidential campaign; Garnishing of your wages to fund her coveted Socialized medicine program; and, the Clinton's history of emasculating the military, verifies that this grievously flawed woman would be the female version of the Jimmy Carter debacle that gave us the Ayatollah Khomeini who ushered in rampant Islamic radicalism; block-long lines at our gasoline stations; a severely hollow military; and, a record Misery Index. Only much worse. Considering all of Hillary's recent gaffes, e.g. "I voted FOR IT (referring to the Bankruptcy Bill); but, I was glad to see that it didn't pass."; and, her increasingly frequent crying jags, one has to wonder if excessive use of Botox has affected her mental stability. It's no wonder that her campaign staff is shielding her from reporter and audience unscripted questions. The prospect of Madam Hillary as President; in a word: TERRIFYING. Greg Neubeck

BILL CLINTON didn't lock up the nomination until JUNE...KERRY
didn't lock up his until middle of MARCH...if neither candidate has the required votes...WHY shouldn't ALL American citizens be allowed to be counted????? THAT'S the DEMOCRATIC way!!!!!
Posted by: jeleanoro | Mar 4, 2008 9:52:41 AM
Hey "Jenny", I find it fascinating that Obama supporters weren't calling for Obama to jettison the race when he was 105 delegates behind. And please, YOU do the math. Even if Obama wins 65 per cent of the remaining contests he will not have enough elected delegates to win the contest. The superdelegates will be the ones that decide the outcome. That is several weeks away. By that time voters may completely sicken of Obama's repeatable canned message, and realize that he's just another empty suit.
Posted by: WestCoastMessenger | Mar 4, 2008 9:52:42 AM
These people on here pretending as republicans that they are in control. Hillary has finally got the media to start questioning obama. NAFTAgate, REZKO trials, one speech given when he was running for STATE SENATE does not make him ready or with good JUDGEMENT his stupid answer to any Foreign policy.

We already see how the democrats are repairing the country. Democrat-controlled congress (includes Obama and clinton)is making sweeping repairs, attending to such issues as ridding baseball of steroids and investigating minor republicans. What happeded to all the promises of stopping the war, a health care bill, and impeaching Bush-Cheney? Obama talks about making changing faces in Washington, isn't that where he serves. Maybe he has done so little in the Senate that he considers himself an outsider.
Posted by: Bigmarunga | Mar 4, 2008 9:58:34 AM
Reminds me so much of '76. Carter ran on a platform of change, and he certainly did change things.
Thanks to him, we saw interest rates of more than 20%, inflation at better than 10. And he allowed the Ayatollah Khomeini to return from exile in France to take power in Iran, which let the fundamentalist Islamic terror genie out of the bottle. (We'll be paying dearly for that blunder over the next century.)
Anyway, I have no doubt that Obama will usher in a period of "change" in America.
And if you're stupid enough that that's all you're looking for, you deserve whatever you get.
Posted by: Gregorio | Mar 4, 2008 9:59:00 AM
Obama is not the candidate of change. He is the candidate of 1970s policy. He would not only send this country down the gutter with his horrible economic policies, but would likely usher in a new era of Republican dominance in 2012 as a result. We do not need another Jimmy Carter.
Posted by: JS | Mar 4, 2008 10:07:56 AM
You can't keep blaming Hillary for hurting the Democrat party, it is the Obama supporters doing it when they continously tell Clinton supporters to back down. I hate to tell you people this, but you are divisive - you are going to need those Hillary supporters if, and it is a BIG IF, Obama wins the nomination. You might not want to totally alienate them from the Democrat Party by telling them their candidate is not worth it because you are in essence telling them they are not worth it. Even yesterday, Obama gets some hard questions from reporters on his past actions and he blames it on Hillary - did he really think he was going to get by in this whole campaign - not jsut the primaries - without ever being asked any hard questions? He weasled out - the man is any empty suit who cannot even explain his own position.
Posted by: Danielle | Mar 4, 2008 10:09:08 AM
Sometimes the media simply tell the truth, which can be very refreshing. Here's the Toledo Blade on our wrinkled Hillary:
"Voters during this primary process have come to know the real Hillary Clinton, and many have not liked what they've seen. Try as she might to project a warm personal image, she has come across mostly as a coldly calculating individual.
Moreover, her candidacy reminds voters of how the Clintons in effect looted the White House of expensive china, furniture, and other items when they left in January, 2001. And, if that weren't enough, they set up a gift registry to furnish their new home in New York. In contrast to such political royalism, Mr. Obama, his wife, and their two daughters live much closer to the reality of ordinary people."
Do I have to add which candidate the jounal endorsed? Haha.

Facts are facts. This is about the number of delegates -- nothing else. Hillary has to get 62% of the vote in all of the remaining states to reach the required amount. That is not possible, especially since in the last 11 contests, she has reached 40% ONLY ONCE.
Even if she somehow manages to pick up 15 delegates on Obama tonight (which will be very difficult given Texas' system), she will still be close to 100 delegates behind with Mississippi and Wyoming looming next and both solidly in Obama's camp.
Simple facts of mathematics -- Clinton has about as much chance of winning as a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest. After tonight, if she has not SIGNIFICANTLY cut into Obama's delegate lead, Bill Richardson will endorse Obama tomorrow and encourage the DNC and Super Delegates to do so as well. She HAS to win very big tonight or it's over -- no matter how she tries to spin it

Go ahead, Hillary, bring all your celebrities flunkies around! The simple fact is that it just shows how tweakin' desperate you are at this point to connect with actual real world people. The only problem is all you have is the Hollywood schmoos on your side. Can't you find anybody under 50 willing to support your lame candidacy? You've got no chance. Stay in the race as long as you wish - that's definitely your right. Just remember that it's going to screw the Dem Party up for the general election and only prolong your inevitable failure.

this is great, crats going at each other, what is so great about this is because crats don't think and simply react emotionally this will not end today it will go on and on and on. This can not end well for the crats, bad feelings at the convention are assured. We should loose this year, after the mess our congress made we sure deserve to. But because crats are a party of Oprah watching idiots, who are mostly unable to engage in rational calculation they will tear each up other for us. Even if it ends today the Clintons politics of personal destruction have hurt Obamma.
If a crat that is capable of rational thought exists, and this is a questionable proposition, you will see that you are getting what you deserve, because we have been telling you that the Clintons were no good for years, now you see that we were right.
Just think crats if you had turned on Clinton over Lewinsky, he would have been impeached, President Al Gore would have beaten Governor George Bush and the Clintons would be gone.
Once again crats, you got played.
And crats you have to admit you are the incompetent party as we represent a minority of the country maybe 20 to 30 percent and we can still beat you.
You can damn bet in in country clubs all over America the incompetence of the crats is being laughed at.
ROFLMAO

I may not be the smartest person in the the world. But, nobody seem to notice because nobody is discussing it, that Obama who is a fluent speaker goes blub-blub when he expains in debates and on other situations, such as on the issues that I perceive that he does not have much expertise that he claims he has, etc. Does anybody out there notice it too?

Don't be stupid! The republicans are afraid to run agaist Hillary. That is why thy are voting for Obama.
Be realistics, why do republicans want to vote for a left wing Obama? So that they can cream him in November. It'll be very hard for them to do that on Hillary because she is a no nonsense leader and pragmatic! Period.
Don't worry abour Rush, the drug addict. His listeners are hard core republicans that have been brain washed by his constant rantings on the air. They are going to vote for McCain despite all the bashings of McCain by Rush. They just have no where to go.
Go Hillary!
Posted by: Kim | Mar 4, 2008 10:47:25 AM
Look crats, I am going to give you some advice. because it wont hurt because basically crats are too stupid to get it. You have a choice between two leftie senators, neither of which has accomplished much. Just pick one it wont make much difference and based on the constraints the next president will be under.
You know stuff crats have a hard time understanding, like none of the big social programs will happen because well no money, and because this sub prime stuff is a mess, a bigger mess than you crats can comprehend because it involves complicated things like investment banking and a liquidity crisis, the best this is going to come out is stagflation. What does this mean, it means George Bush is handing the next president a bag of crap for the economy and it can't be fixed in four years. And as far as Iraq is concerned it will be governed by facts on the ground, and NAFTA will stay the president the repudiates NAFTA will have a worse international rep that George Bush.
So crats, no matter who the president is
1- we stay in Iraq
2- no national health care as we have no money
3- NAFTA stays
4-We cut spending and pay down debt
5-Stagflation comes back
6-Europe stays mad at us
7-The threat of terrorism stays
8- Iran, North Korea, and Chavez are a hugh pain in our ass
Clinton, Obamma, McCain this is basically what you get.
What could be different under McCain
1) McCain faces a democratic congress and goes after earmarks
2)Electing McCain sends signal we will stay the course in Iraq we may get some credibility in negations over seas as this sends signal we will fight if we have to maybe that is respected.
3) slight tax increases devoted to paying down debt think H.W. Bush and his deal with Democratic congress.
4)improved relations with world on superficial level as McCain is not the overseas hate figure Bush 43 is.
With Clinton
You get about the same, but if crats control congress she will not be able to go after ear marks when her party is in charge. No matter what she says she will stay the course in Iraq as she will not want to let it become another Afghanistan (think post soviet version) she will not get health care passed as we have no money it suffers same fate as Bush 43's social security reform. Right gets re energized maybe retakes house or senate.
Other than that not much changes and 12 people in Ohio get to decide between Clinton and McCain.
With Obama you get a president that may be even more aggressive in Iraq and Afghanistan because he will be beat up bad in election about being weak and naive. Think Kennedy in Bay of pigs and Vietnam.
No health as no money no ability to go after ear marks or spending.
Plus the justification for affirmative action is pretty much out the window which will be fun.
His hope is a bill of goods not much changes.
But the election map does change, 12 people in a couple of different states pick the president.
So crats, wake up a join the real world it matters a whole lot less than you think. If you were smart you would do like the republicans and pick one and get it on. But if you were smart you would not be crats, you would have a decent job and not need the government to wipe your snotty little noses for you. So then you would not be crats.
So much emotional energy so little on the table.
By the way what do we pick a president for--- to deal with the unexpected like 9-11 and that is why character and experience do matter. But other than the unexpected it really does not much matter as the institutional constraints really limit what they can do.

Yea Jim you got it, As for me I go for the grumpy old white man, because maybe after what he put up with in Hanoi he can separate what matters from what does not when it really matters.
As we have no money to do anything but pay down debt any way that is about all the freedom of action the next president will have any way.

I just had a epiphany the crats don't actually care what a president does, they can't be stupid enough to think either Hillary or Obama are going to actually accomplish any of this. For them it is just about how it makes they feel when they listen to them.
As I said before crats don't think they just feel.

Breaking!!! Hillary projected to win Ohio, Texas, R.I and V.....t. The BIG Mo swings her way. To save the democratic party, Obama should drop out of the race NOW!!!

What Hillary has achieved is not the question of the 35 years so called experience she claims she has. Is what has the country achieved from her accomplishments. If she is so great where is it to be seen. It's about her not the country. Why does she keep playing the hide and seek, NO I didn't yes I did say that game.

Hillary said she earned every wrinkle. I'm sure practically all her wrinkles were earned, putting up with Bill Clintons shenanigans with various women over the years. She refused to divorce him on adultery charges because Hillary goal was power for herself in the White House. Now she is so close and here comes Obama to upset her carefully choreographed plan and she is mad, mad, mad. She is into passive aggressive mode. She's been told to put on her likeable side while she seethes under it al. Now you know where her wrinkles come from....all the humiliating crap she has had to put up with from Bill - it's payback time. But will she win the nomination???And if she doesn't will she gracefully bow out? ...Does anyone see the word grace and Hillary together. I don't!

She's going for the chipmonk look. A nut in each cheek. Young voters go for that stuff.
Posted by: Ken Taylor | Mar 4, 2008 11:43:57 AM
Hillary should not drop out. She won California. She won New York. She won Florida. She won Michigan. She'll win Ohio and maybe Texas. Why should the candidate that has won the big states, step aside for the candidate that has won only the small states. Delegate math she may be behind--but look ahead and do the electoral map-- you will see she is closer to 270 than Obama.

Who cares? Both are losers!

Ken,
Come down from your "high"! obama, your patron, quit that a long time ago!!

OBAMA 2008
Yep Bubba Red Neck has decided to vote Obama.
Because he will be a good president, no he will be a failure, but many good things could come form this failure.
1) It will be very difficulty to make the case for affirmative action when you have an african american president who wins in a competitive process, which it will be.
2) Nothing will get better for poor african americans. This is bad, but poor african americans may learn from this that if they ever want anything to get better they will have to make things better for themselves. Government really wont and can't do much about poverty. Once the poor learn this they will be better off. The real lesson of Katrina is this if you count of the government to take care of you stuck on a roof in New Orleans is what you get. The sooner this is learned by all those who are disadvantaged the better off they will be.
3. The economy will tank. No matter the exact timing in the idiotocracy we live in once you are in office for a few months the economy is yours. So even though the coming stagflation is the result of 16 years of mismanaged monetary policy Obama can take the heat for it and be very weak in 2012.
4. Withdrawing from Iraq is scary but this is about a credible as his promises to end NAFTA. So no need to worry the facts on the ground will force him to see the war through.
Basically a vote for Obama will over time advance the right wing agenda. Go Obama set the stage for the next Barry Goldwater.

bubba,
you make some good points... but I am voting for Obama because I want to see a black man succeed in this country.
i think that most black americans feel that they are ostracized and cannot function in the US these days. Their men are in prison and their families are headed by single moms. If a black child dares to succeed in the current system, they are ostracized by their own friends and families as some type of uncle tom. I am voting for Obama to try and engage this huge chunk of Americans. To show them that 90% of white people don't give a damn about skin color. And the other 10% cannot keep anyone down. Barack Obama can be a great role model and inspiration for people of all colors, creeds, and backgrounds. He is talking about putting republicans in his cabinet! Let's elect someone who can unify, include, bridge, and inspire.
Or, we choose the divisive, hate-filled, one-party, one-solution tactics and schemes favored by the Bushes and Clintons.

Bubba, in a word...yes.

The US presidency will be decided this June by those clowns in gowns at the US Supreme court. Unlike the 2000 election, their decision will not favor the Republican candidate. The case Crawford v. Marion County Election Board will decide whether undocumented voters (AKA illegal aliens) can vote in next fall's election.
The ACLU, La Raza, MALDEF and other illegal aliens rights activists all challenged the Indiana law with hypothetical worse case scenarios of how some legal voter might lose all their identification etc etc. Most court watchers agree that based upon the questions raised during oral arguments last January that the court will uphold the voter ID law. This will significantly impact McCain's chances in those high electoral vote states such as California, Florida, New York where many of the 20 million illegal aliens infesting the country live. McCain depends on these cross-over voters (AKA border jumpers) for support. While Hillary has tried to woo Hispanics, Indians, Chinese and other illegal alien voters, Hillary's focus on her taxpayer supported health care is lost on illegal aliens who already receive free medical care at the local hospital emergency room. Obama could win on the strength of just american citizen voters who don't want another 100 years of war.

Well km,
I could have agreed with you for while, but it seems to me that all this class warfare that all democrats including Obama push is pretty hate filled.
Second if you want somebody who "reaches across the aisle" and I am not so sure I do, McCain is the one who has trouble in his own party for doing this.
Comments like yours make me think their might be something to this "magic negro" stuff. Before you get all righteous with me at least take the time to find out what the literary device of a "magic negro" is.
I think you are an example of what I mean by feeling rather than thinking.
Posted by: bubbaRedNeck | Mar 4, 2008 12:24:48 PM
Hey inspector41. The reason Obama didn't vote for the Iraq war is because he was in the Illinois state senate, NOT the United States senate. It's easy to lob grandiose claims when you on the sidelines and not even in the game.

Know what I feel? I feel I don't want a president who thinks calling people "gooks" is ok.
I feel I don't want a president who thinks "experience" is living in the White House, with no paying job, just because her spouse is the President.

Of course she's still raising questions about the now-discredited reports of Obama and the Canadian government regarding NAFTA. She will lie, intimidate and coerce as much as is humanly possible to get what she wants, regardless of what it costs us, the American public.
I'm a registered independant who supports Obama, and if Clinton wins the Democratic nomination, I'll be casting my vote for McCain in November. The last thing we need is a lying, divisive bully like Clinton in the White House.

It appears everyone on here has a opinion one way or another, and yet no one can see the others point of view. Yes, lets just keep bickering back and forth and maybe the problems will resolve themselves.

I think the Clinton Camp is absolutely right; the onus is on Obama. He must win Texas and Ohio by double digits, swim the English Channel, do the high-dive off the Atlantic City Steel pier on a horse, and play Lady of Spain on his cheek with a teaspoon. If he cannot do all those things, then obviously, Hillary still has an excellent chance of wrapping up the nomination!

I'm voting for Nader this year. Obama and Hillary are a bunch of limosine liberals. They can go back to their McMansions and hang out with all the movie star friends. If Obama and Hillary cared so much for the poor they would let them move into their McMansions. Nader is the real deal.

America needs a leader with strong character and integrity, Clinton posesses neither of these qualities and over half of the vox populi agree.

I don't understand where these arguments that Republicans were voting Obama in order to beat Hillary. She had years and years of right wing consipiracy theory and Democrats are buying it. Let me tell you something. I am a Republican and I voted for McCain dutifully. I am not interested in voting in one of your candidate in order to keep the other one out. Neither do any of my Republican friends. I certainly can not say no republicans are doing that, just like you can't say no Democrats are doing what you are accusing Republicans are doing.
The bottom line is, Hillary loses fair and square. Don't blame Republicans. Hillary needs to understand she is not liked as a person or leader among Democrats, no less than she is not liked among Republicans. There is no consipiracy. We are not interested in getting involved in your primary. If any Republicans voted for Obama, they are inspired, they are moved, they are ready for change...whatever it is, Hillary needs to accept it that those people will cross the party line to vote for Obama. They are not involved in any right wing consipiracy. They happen to like a Democratic candidate, which should be something Hillary is proud of, because she can NEVER achieve that.

I actually feel sorry for Hillary. She can't and won't win in the general election even if Obama is taken down by her and Bill's dirty tactics. She will lose either now or later , will never rise again and will have to live with knowing the bulk of America views her with distrust and scorn. She will be heckled everywhere for the rest of her public life and if she goes away quietly her private life with Bill will be hell because he won't stop running around and he'll never let her forget that he won and she couldn't. Sad really.

I think the message so far is the fact that America is finished with the Clintons and want them out of the picture. They had their 8 years to make 'change' and pissed it away. Time to step aside and give someone else a shot at it.
Obama comes across so well because he is a breath of fresh air compared to the bitter, corrupt, and severely self serving and partisan Clintons.
Posted by: Funny stuff | Mar 4, 2008 2:52:35 PM
This is setting up to be an underdog election. Obama has been so hyped that folks are starting to get sick of his name and his picture. I don't like either candidate but will bitterly hold my nose and vote Hillary. I'm not ready for a president that can't decide if he's cafe or latte. No matter what, someone will say, "It's because he's black".

For your vote Hillary is going to take care of you from the womb to the tomb.
Who cares who pays for it as long as it is those rascially rich Republicans.
My fellow Republicans, cash in those IRAs, empty those savings accounts, pay by cash only. Stuff those green backs under matresses, stash the cash in Mason jars and bury them, empty Johnny's piggy bank. MY GOD!!! The dreaded Hilda beast is coming, hide your wallet!

Hillary touting her "experience"
is a joke. The only one with
less experience than Hillary is
Obama.
Both Hillary and Obama only came
into power because of sex
scandals.
