Democrats Divided? Bill: 'That's a Bunch of Bull'

ABC News' Z. Byron Wolf Reports: At a campaign stop for his wife in Kannapolis, North Carolina, former President Clinton weighed in on the protracted Democratic nomination fight.

Clinton dismissed talk about whether the nomination battle between Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, and Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., is dividing Democrats.

"That's a bunch of bull," he said.

"I wasn't nominated until June 2nd, 1992," he argued, then said maybe it was June 3rd.

Watch the VIDEO HERE.

He told several hundred North Carolinians that the race should continue because, "you have a right for your votes to get counted."

WestCoastMessager, what else is remaining, which next name you will give to Obama. Illegal votes cannot be counted, votes without DNC rules and regulations will not count, votes with the input of republicans cannot count. Also, if you listen to Bill Clinton he will never see the hand writing on the wall. The game is over, time for the democrats to get together behind Obama and win the White House. God bless America and God bless Obama. OBAMA08.

It will be interesting to see how soon all of the Democratic leaders like Kennedy, Leahy, and Kerry who jumped on the PC bandwagon early on will be trying to make up with the Clintons if she does drop out. If I were them, I don't think I could forget those who forgot that the Clinton's had helped them campaign and supported them when they needed it, just because they thought having an African American President would be much more historical and politically significant than having a woman elected. They wanted to be part of "the wave." Just watch all of the back slapping, instead of back stabbing, when they want Bill and Hillary to come out and support Obama if he does take the nomination, which I suspect will happen as they media wants it to happen. A lot of pundits just don't get it, people who support Hillary do so because of her experience, thorough knowledge, and passion for the issues. These are things Obama just doesn't have now. Especially for those who are more moderate, Obama is simply not a choice in November, no matter how much Hillary may be pressured to publicly say we should support him. Myself, and a lot of people I know, cannot in good conscience vote for Obama after the divisive and under the radar sneaky campaign he has run this year. Top that off with character issues and bad judgment which has been shown through the Wright issue, you have a recipe for not voting, or voting for John McCain. It has nothing to do with anyone's race or gender, just plain common sense. (Plus the fact that baby boomers and "uneducated" voters who actually had to go to work instead of college when they were young were pretty much ignored or written off as a thing of the past early in Obama's campaign, and we haven't forgotten the disrepect.)

Dear Hilllary, politics is not do-or-die, it's like sports, we can't win all the time, so suck it up. Don't be too power hungry.

As a political analyst, I am quite convinced that the protracted rivalry within the Democratic presidential campaign, which has, for the most part, been instigated by Hilary Clinton’s insistence on “going all the way”, could only amount to political suicide for the Democratic Party. This, of course, in turn, would cost the Democrats not only the November election, but also would lead o the disenfranchisement of the next generation and those who feel neglected by history in this country. In this campaign, it has become obvious that Obama represents the voice of the youth and those who are tired of the old system and its politics of cronyism, and are craving real change in the political landscape in this country. On the other hand, Hilary Clinton represents mostly the working-class who nostalgically clings to the memories of the economic boom of the 90’s, the repeat of which, from an economic standpoint, is quite unlikely, given the gargantuan tasks ahead, such as, how to end the war in Iraq and Afghanistan (Which some people seem to have forgotten about. America has some 20,000 troops stationed there), and the existence of major international players such as China and India, whose demands for oil and other resources make the repeat of the 90’s nothing more than a just wishful thinking and a pipe dream. America needs an overhaul in its political scene, something that only a new voice that reflects the aspirations of the new generation can achieve. A personality whose charisma can rally people together and can bring about renewed hope. Of course, the word ‘Change’ can sometimes be frightening to some, simply because it might mean letting go of the old habits, which often die hard. However, judging by the state in which America has found itself, thanks to the current Administration’s abrasive policies, both home and overseas, change is inevitable and this can only lead to building a better and stronger America. America and Americans can not afford getting stuck in these political bickerings and divisive policies of ‘Us’ and ‘Them’ while countries like India and China are rising as the new politico- economic powerhouses.

Bill Clinton was there raising money when 9/11 families and first responders needed help.
Bill Clinton was there raising money when New Orleans needed help.
Bill Clinton was there raising money when the tsunami people needed help.
Bill Clinton is there raising money and providing HIV drugs now when the peoples of Africa need help.
Where was Obama in any of the needs?

Rezko trial starts again Monday. Let's wait and see what bombshells emerge next week. Obama can't go a week without a skeleton coming out of the closet or putting his foot in his mouth. He's all yappy after a couple of days off. By next week he'll look as haggard and beaten as he did before his little hiatus.

You rock Dogsoldier! It is the absolute truth. Every time someone needs help reagardless of what race or religion or political party they are they have gone to Bill. He came through every time and raised big money for people in need. Shame on you for being so ungratelful for the many good things he has done!

I really wonder why Republicans who say they will cross over and vote in Democratic primaries hate this country so much? Our founding fathers established a democracy based on fair elections. Tampering with that process isn't just "meddling," it is traitorous conduct that undermines the very foundation of this country.

Many people have sacrificed their lives to defend the system we have, and to protect it from those who would subvert it for their own ends.

I'd love to hear from a Republican how he or she squares such behavior with what I'm sure is how they think of themselves - as patriotic. And I mean an honest response, not some snark that only enables you to evade the immorality of your actions. Until then, shame on you. And shame on those you admire for encouraging you to behave in such an un-American way.

View,
Apparently, as a political analyst, you've forgotten the salient part of the process that allows the voices of the electorate to be heard. Have you also forgotten that political contests are typically riddled with mud slinging? Snark attacks are nothing new, although they’ve been perfected, in my opinion, by the Obama camp. Hillary didn't invent the conditions for intense rivalry, and her "going all the way" is a fundamental element of the primary process. She has every right to go all the way, and with probable wins in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Indiana, what’s the rush to push her out? Forcing the Clinton withdrawal issue is far more destructive to the democratic process than letting the will of the people play out.

If Obama supporters have so much confidence in him, why are they trying to stop the race before all of the states have their say?

Why are they making a case to follow the rules in Michigan and Florida and trying to break the rules by saying the people need to get angry if superdelegates do not vote for the candidate that won their state?

If Obama really believes that superdelegates have to vote for the candidate that won their state why does he still count Kerry, Kennedy and Richardson among superdelegates that belong to him?

Obama already put up a roadblock so Michigan and Florida will not be able to vote against him and now he is trying to stop the race before the last 9-10 states have their say. Wonder if the remaining states approve of the way he is trying to disenfranchise them?

Slick Willy was born campaigning--and eats, breathes, and sleeps campaigning. It's what he does, it's all he does. Even as he left DC in January 2001, he was still campaigning with his big, interminable, obnoxious exit from office. His speech in Little Rock when he got off the plane was timed to step all over GWBush's inauguration. The guy just can't stop!

What's the point of electing Obama only to have to impeach him in two years. Obama has an agenda way beyond anything we can see now. He loves the crown, but it's more than that. You don't listen to the Rev Wright for 20 years and not pick up on his ideas.

Bill Clinton has done more for this country and the Democratic party than anyone else in our recent history. Hillary has been a dedicated Democrat for years as well. Obama doesn't want states to vote because he's afraid of losing. That's not the democratic values last I checked. This process needs to continue until the entire country votes (and that should include Florida and Michigan.) It is absurd to ask Hillary to bow out of this race because she is going to win it. There is no way that Obama could win against John McCain. I for one would never vote for him.

Yeah, Bill, you may not have wrapped up the nomination until June, but you leave out a relevant fact: Your percentage of the vote in November was in the high 30s!!! Might Democrats have done better if they had settled on candidate sooner around which they could coalesce?

SENATOR CASEY SHOULD GO TO THE CHURCH OF OBAMA AND PREACH WITH THE PASTOR....YOU ARE GOING TO NEED A NEW GROUP OF PEOPLE TO SURPORT YOUR PLACE IN THE SENATE. WHAT A JOKE, YOUR FATHER DID LIKED THE CLINTONS BECAUSE HE HAD NOT PART IN A SPEACH AND YOU GIVE THE CLINTONS A THUMBS DOWN AND ENDORSE OBAMA....WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE HIS PASTOR AND FRIENDS IN THAT CHURCH IN THE WHITE HOUSE FOR DINNER.

The Obama supports are in a hurry to stop the voting lol. That's for sure.

Posted by: John | Mar 28, 2008 6:11:39 PM

Hillary - it is over. Be satisfied with how far you have made it. Maybe someday soon, a woman with principles will win the nomination on merit, not on victim-hood. The sooner the better.
I am sick of wimpy white men with napoleon complexes running the show. But this lady is a liar and cannot bring the country together. At least Barak has a chance. End the dynasties!!
