Obama: Primary 'A Good Movie That Lasted About A Half An Hour Too Long'

ABC News' Sunlen Miller Reports: Calling it a lengthy primary season, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., offered a Pittsburgh, Pa. crowd an analogy on the Democratic primary race, saying it is like "a good movie that lasted about a half an hour too long."

Obama said he and Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., have been running in the Democratic primary so long that they could reverse roles and recite each others' lines without missing a beat.

"I think there are some people who felt like, 'God, when will this be over?'" he said.

Obama added that the lengthy campaign has been tough because both he and Clinton understand what's at stake during the campaign.

One of Obama's top supporters, Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., told a radio station today he thought Clinton should get out of the race.

Obama picked up an endorsement Friday from Pennsylvania Democratic Sen. Bob Casey, who said he called Clinton last night to let her know. Casey said she was gracious with his decision to support Obama.

Casey told reporters that he didn’t quite agree with Leahy’s assertion that Clinton should withdraw, but did say he hopes the end of the primary draws near.

"I would hope that after Pennsylvania, then we got a couple more primaries, I would hope this wouldn’t go much further beyond the end of May," Casey said. "I think we would be better off having a nominee in the time period, certainly in late May or early June, that would be ideal. Because if you get too far into the summer, I think positions begin to harden and we lose time to not just unite and bring people together but we are also giving the Republican nominee more time to make the case against our nominees without having enough rebuttal."

Obama kicked off his six-day bus tour throughout Pennsylvania with former Pittsburgh Steeler Jerome Bettis, nicknamed "the bus" and Franco Harris, a retired Pittsburgh Steelers player in the football Hall of Fame.

Obama posed for pictures with the football players and waved a rally towel in the air above his head to fans in the streets before getting on the bus, off to the next campaign stop.

Obama is like that movie where for weeks you get the coming attractions, all the hype that its a block buster.

You eagerly join the lines at the movie house to get in to see the show, only to be disappointed that its a total flop and not what all the hype was about.

It failed miserably and you end up kicking your self for being duped and throwing away your money to go see it.

Senator Obama, please drop out of race right now!

Franco Harris and the Bus may be more important than the Pittsburgh mayor in terms of scaring up votes. As a former resident of the Burgh, those two guys are INSANELY popular there. Go to the Pittsburgh airport. There are two statues: one of George Washington, and one of Franco Harris making the Immaculate Reception. Here We Go!

I would ask that those of you who wrote in to make snide comments about Sen. Obama please listen to his two speeches on race & the economy. These are not rah-rah campaign speeches. They're partial prescriptions for what this country needs. If, after really listening to Obama, you don't think he is the best candidate, then by all means make a different choice. But belittling someone who has obama's depth of character & knowledge makes the critic look small, stupid & ill-informed, & makes obama all the more appealing by comparison.

"I'm behind in delegates, I'm behind in the raw vote. But I'm a woman, I'm a Clinton, I um, "put up" with Bill... Elect ME, ME, ME." Ugh, enough Hilliary. 2nd place is NOT 1st. This isn't affirmative action day. The VOTERS get to decide, unless you pull a BUSH and steal it. Go away, go away, go away. I'm sure "Neo-con John", will be glad to welcome you to be his VP so you can get some "on the job training." Since your own records show how little you did after you grossly FAILED at your secret little classified socialized, Canadian style health care plan crashed and burned, even though your "roommate" was President. The only thing you've accomplished on your own is disgrace... GO AWAY, and take Bill with you. Maybe now, you too will actually sleep in the same bed for once! (Just a thought)

I too cannot stand Obama. Very arrogant - not ready for the Presidency. He is hiding behind the race card from the start.

Wow, you pro-Hillary/Obama-haters are really vicious. The repubs are justing around quietly watching the ugliness as the two sides rip into each other.

I was at Nipsey's funeral in October 2005.
I'm guessing you're more like Russell Stover all bloated from eating too much candy.

Bar Maid: Hey I resemble that remark!

Hell.. anyone listen to NPR? I seem to recall hillary's latest speech talking about "Landing in sniper fire.." blah blah blah. Then being shown out to be a complete liar. Not to mention instead of mentioning she lied.. trying to cover her ass with an extremely weak wordy excuse. "No we did not land in sniper fire, and to anyone I accidentally may have mislead.." Blah blah bloody blah. Sorry but Obama is a hell of a lot more honest. And I don't support him cause he is black.. nor cause hes mixed.. nor male.. I support him because he isn't as large of a liar. And you can't get experience as a president.. if you haven't been one. So hell.. he can't screw it up much worse. And not to mention he isn't as dirtied as the other politicians are who have done it so long.
As for McCain... if Obama loses to hillary by some god forsaken event.. then McCain has my vote. I can't say I quite agree with all his views. But they are much better than Clinton.
Forthmost the Clinton's have seen the office already. And that whole thing was a disaster. Why in the hell would we put them back in? Especially when they are both proven liars and fakes. This has nothing to do with her being a woman, hell I don't care WHAT sex you are. Just that your going to screw the country up less than the others.. or maybe even do a good job of fixing it!!

That's right Obama, the movie is still playing because YOU have not been able to win. Does he know how arrogant he sounds and how off-putting it comes across? I doubt it, he seems to have a lack of self-awareness. Oh, and he said: "to know me is to love me". OK, so there is a lack of self-awareness, grandiosity, a sense of entitlement and a lack of empathy. Oh oh, looks like Obama has a narcissistic personality disorder.

The level of discourse on this blog says everything about the anti-Obama crowd. You can never underestimate the
vacuity of the American electorate.
Try reading something, people. Like an Obama speech, or DREAMS FROM MY FATHER, or, heck, maybe a newspaper.

Why are you Hillary people hating on Obama???? He's a great man and will be a great president. Why are you so angry???? Get over it, WE ALL love America! All of us want a better America! Stop the jealous tirades, they are not going to bring back our 4000 dead! He help us - we are an AMERICAN family!

I believe the primary process is valuable. It may have its flaws but we are stuck with it. I'm sure that many people are tired, especially BOTH candidates but I think it is with time that we may find out which of the two democrats has the most cogent plans for financial stability and health care. Having agreed, more or less, what they would do in Iraq, we need to know how the Dems can get us out of this Republican debacle. If anything time should force Mr. O to produce some more specific plans, yes, with some numbers that can be repeated without a clever script. As for Ms. Clinton's ability to change her tone with her audience, it merely shows that she identifies with them and is a good communicator. Let's not forget this is politics and today politics depends on communication via the media. Do you imagine that everything that comes out of Mr. O's mouth is coming from the heart. Let's hope not, we need a president who is thinking rationally.

Sounds like Obama just does not like to work for what he gets. If Hillary drops out, he will not have to work any more to get the Dems nomination. If he gets the Dems nomination, this Dem is crossing over to McCain. I don't want to do it, but, I will. Obama just appears too lazy. I hope all of his camp calling for Hillary to drop out back fires on him. Even if he gets the nomination, it may back fire because all of us Hillary and may some independents will do what I will - vote McCain. They are just pushing Obama on me too much. I don't like that.

OBAMA GETS AWAY WITH LIES ALL THE TIME, while Clinton is crucified for exaggerating a story. That's how powerful the media is.

The media can twist and report lies to Obama's benefit. Obama was on the View (aired 03/28/08) and he basically said the same thing, lying contradicting himself again regarding Jeremiah Wright and his church.

REMEMBER IN OBAMA’S FAMOUS SPEECH, HE SAID HE COULD NOT DISOWN WRIGHT ANYMORE THAN HE COULD DISOWN HIS WHITE GRANDMOTHER, WHO LOVED HIM AND HELPED RAISE HIM.

Now he sings another tune. Can anyone see how deceitful this man is?
TODAY, OBAMA said, "IF THE REV .WRIGHT "The Minister Of Hate" HAD NOT RETIRED I WOULD HAVE LEFT THE CHURCH".

ONCE AGAIN, OBAMA IS PLAYING THE AMERICAN VOTERS LIKE A PIANO!
