Bill Clinton Retells Hillary's 1996 Bosnia Story
April 10, 2008 7:10 PM
ABC News' Sarah Amos and Eloise Harper Report: President Clinton, speaking in Boonville, Ind., revised history when he recounted his wife's recent flap discussing a trip she took to Bosnia in 1996. President Clinton's version had several inaccuracies and was slightly misleading.
President Clinton's described his wife's experience, saying, "There was a lot of fulminating because Hillary, one time late at night when she was exhausted, misstated and immediately apologized for it - what happened to her in Bosnia in 1995. Did y'all see all that. Oh, they blew it up. Let me just tell you." Clinton then criticized the press, saying, “You woulda thought, you know, that she'd robbed a bank the way they carried on about this. And some of them, when they're 60, they'll forget something when they're tired at 11:00 at night, too."
President Clinton's version of the story has several inaccuracies. Hillary Clinton actually made the exaggerated comments numerous times, including at an event in Dubuque, Iowa on Dec. 29th, in Waco, TX on Feb. 29th, and twice -- bright and early in the morning -- on March 17.
Sen. Clinton did not apologize, as Mr. Clinton asserted. His wife did say she had made a mistake and said that she had misspoken when describing the Bosnia incident.
Sen. Clinton also wasn't as quick with her apology as President Clinton may remember either. In fact, it took a week for her to eventually correct herself, first talking to the Philadelphia Inquirer editorial board on March 24 and again the following day in Greensboro, N.C.
President Clinton also indicated that his wife's trip took place in 1996 – when it fact it took place in 1995.
President Clinton then later in the evening told the story again in Jasper, Ind., saying the press was treating his wife like the Mata Hari. "She took a terrible beating in the press for a few days because she was exhausted at 11 o'clock at night and she started talking about Bosnia and she misstated the circumstances under which she landed in Bosnia. Did you all see all that? And oh, they acted like she was practically Mata Hari - like she was making up all this stuff."

yikes -- icky, creepy, lying stuff once again from Bill Clinton. Does he think no on pays attention.
Folks, I'm in a blue state, but going for McCain this time. Obama's judgement and inexperience are all too like our failed governor, Deval Patrick.

The Clintons wouldn't know the truth if it walked up and bit them. Typical Clinton, lets re-write history after the matter and dispite the facts.
This is the poster family for Democrats?
Wow, your kidding right? Right?

A vote for Hillary is a vote for putting Bill Clinton back in office. He will have enormous influence on his wife. They are a team. Team Socialism. Socialism for us, crony capitalism and privilege for a few at the top.

Not only are the Clintons cheaters and liars, they seen to think that the american public at large is stupid. Well, the media keeps emphasizing that they target the "uneducated" vote.
Pathetic.

The Clintons just dont understand that it is not OK to lie. If you get caught lying accuse the people who catch you. They truly are sick.

Democrats eat their own. The republicans will come together after their convention. We won't. We'll be too busy trying to bring the Clinton supporters back into the fold. After all the rectoric I don't blame them if they don't come back.

"I don't think the clintons are trash the only two term president since FDR what a shame he picked the Democrat party to be loyal to."
Uhm, might want to learn a little bit more about history there friend. Truman, Eisenhower, LBJ (taking over for Kennedy once he was assassinated), and Reagan were all 2 term presidents.

Good grief! She did not "mis-speak" - she outright lied hoping the USA would think she was presidential material. Who in their right mind would get confused about dodging bullets?? Oh, maybe if I were really tired, I might think I had at some time.......The Clintons are liars, and killers - Vince Foster, and many more. And Obama will sell us out, or the country will end up being racist toward whites. Both candidates are close to being Satan incarnate and want power, not the good of the country

Ha! Ha!....this one will put the nail in the Clinton coffin! MORE LIES!! LOL! Slick Willie, at it again...

How dare the media treat Hillary as a bank robber. Her and Bill only take money from the rich to suppress the poor and influence ignorant, They must be pretty good!. There certainly are alot of people you still believe in them.
As for Hussein Obama. His nmae says it all. Our enimies would love to have him elected. Every time I hear or see him. I only hear his beloved preachers words. gd America, gd America.
God Bless America!! I'm ready to defend the homeland.

I want everyone to know I'm a big Clinton supporter. The reason is that all the millions of people that vote for either one of them proves there is still a market for my schemes out there. You've got to love the way Hillary can flat out lie about always opposing NAFTA after stating in her autobiography that it one of the great achievements of Willie's administration. She can always use the Charles Barkley defense on that one - when pinned down after contradicting something in his autobiography - Charles easily deflected the criticism by stating he way misquoted in the book. Take note Hill - it's much more effective thatn the cackle.

The thing about the clintons is they lie. Remember the old saying "a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive?" Well, they lie so much they can't keep their stories straight. What's the big deal? Clintons Lie, film at eleven. The only funny thing is how they try to swarm out of the lies. Oh, and how the Democrats smile like idiots about it all.

Bill Clinton is a congenital liar and so is Hillary. Therefore you can't believe anything they say about Bosnia. They are both disassembling.
IT IS A BEAUTIFUL THING TO WATCH THE HILLARY CAMPAIGN IMPLODING!!!!

It is SO Clintonian..... Lie about about a lie. Bill lied about Hillary's lie.
I am a veteran who HAS been under enemy fire. Any comabt veteran will tell you what they think of people who lie about a combat experience that never happened! For that one lie alone she should withdraw from the race because no one would respect a commander in chief who said what she said.
The Clintons will do or say anything that they think will help the campaign. Please, let's be done with these dispicable people for once and for all!

There should be no doubt in anyone's mind that Hillary Clinton, like her husband, is a liar.
She fabricated her story about Bosnia. Over the last several weeks, she fabricated the story about the woman whose child was stillborn then died herself claiming she was turned away for not having insurance when in fact she did have it and was treated.
The list of lies goes on and on. The Clintons create fear in the minds of the feeble, those not willing or saavy enough to view the facts.
Then, she has a billion dollar program to clean it all up.
As a CPA, I estimate that her programs if passed would cost each and every taxpayer in the thousands of dollars in new taxes.
Weeks ago, she went into an auto plant in Indianna and in a speech indicated she was going to tax big business.
For those of you inclined to think this is a good thing, think for a minute. This is what results in your factories being shuttered and your jobs being exported overseas. It doesn't happen any simpler than that.
Ohio was particular hard hit. Don't forget, she was a major proponent of NAFTA. She now tries to distance herself from her lobbying efforts on behalf of her husband.
Michigan to the north also is a democratic tax and spend nightmare. The auto industry continues to hemmorage jobs because of policies she supports and will continue to expand.
Just remember that when you order your Rosetta Stone spanish software so you can move to Cental America to keep your job. Can you say peso?

Bill is exactly right when he says this,
"This is about real life. This is a great country with limitless possibilities and profound challenges. And the young people of this country deserve the best president. That's the issue. The best president."
That's why young people are flocking to BBarack Obama.

I find it interesting that they only choose to criticize the oil part of Obama's campaign commercial... after that sentence he goes on to state he doesn't take money from lobbyists either.. Hmmm Bill? Hey Bill? Did you listen to that part? What's your wife's or McCain's position on taking money from lobbyists?
Anyone else hear crickets?
Splitting hairs - the more they talk the harder it will be for me to vote for her if she pulls this nomination out... can't wait for the debate issues, REAL ISSUES!!!! Hooray!

And as they were lied to yet again they stood in raptured awe of this man who could insult their inteligence like no other....a true liar of such magnitude that they could not conceive that the reports could be true....that he didn't really respect them or their positions in this world. Lie to us again Oh Bill the disbarred, Bill the empeached, Bill the "can't control myself", Bill the sellout! Lie to us again........
