Clinton Is Against 'Whoop-De-Do' Speeches
April 19, 2008 1:37 PM
ABC News' Eloise Harper reports: Sen. Hillary Clinton, perhaps venting a bit of frustration in a state where she was leading by double digits months ago, painted a grim state of affairs of this country outside a firehouse in West Chester, Pa., this morning.
After stressing the financial burdens Americans are suffering, problems with education, and more, Clinton stressed the critical decision these voters have to make. She jabbed her opponent, Sen. Barack Obama, who Saturday held his largest rally ever miles from the site where Clinton spoke.
“I don’t want to show up and give one of these whoop-de-do speeches and, you know, and just kind of get everybody whipped up," she said, "and those [of you who are for me] feel great and, you know, try to convince some of you to be for me.”
Clinton again made her argument that the White House is not a place for wimps, saying, “When you get into the general election and when you get into the White House, the stresses and pressures of the general election and the job are overwhelming. And we know we have to have a president ready on day one to take charge.”
Clinton refrained from criticizing the Republican frontrunner John McCain, and instead shared a story about their accommodations when they traveled oversees together.
“We’ve gone to Afghanistan together," she said. "We were in Kabul, and there weren’t safe accommodations. We actually had a row of containers -- you know, you see those containers come off the ships. Those were our accommodations in Kabul.”
Clinton has said in the past that she is friends with McCain and respects him.
Clinton had five stops to race through today -- on the final Saturday before Tuesday's Pennsylvania primary.
Clinton spokesperson Mo Elleithee downplayed expectations, saying the campaign is being outspent in Pennsylvania, but adding, “If they cannot close the deal, close the sale, here in Pennsylvania, they are gong to have to answer why.”

She is against big crowds, caucasus, Obama, MoveOn, frustrated with the democratic party, yet she buddies up with McCain.
Who is this woman?

I'm seeing many parallels between Hillary's behavior and that of Joe Lieberman. She's taking this race personally and sees herself as bigger than the party or its goals.

Obama's rally was excellente! I can't believe the media is not reporting what happened after the event. This is a truly magical time in our political history! Thanks Obama! Yes We Can!

Is she going to McCain's running mate, will she finally come out as a Republican (again) after the campaign is over????
McCain/Clinton - Old and Witchy like none before.

Why shouldn't he be dropping in the polls? Now that he's shown his ineptitude, nobody should be surprised.

Obama supporters, yes, Obama's rally was great. I'm sure all his rallies are great and full of excitements. But life is larger than excitements. Life has serious responsibilities which demand commitment and right actions of our commander-in-chief, not just words. Obama is a typical flip-flop. I am saddened by the fact that many people are deceived by him. I foresee one day all of you are going to cry and regret over your wrong choice!

Has anybody heard Obama talking about serious issues?

Hillary the Bosnian General is now in bed with FoxNews, McCain, Hannity and OReilly. That is why she lost all of us. She is a republican but changed side to be with Bill and now she is going back with republicans and she is showing to the world who is the real Hillary: I am in it for me. That is why nobody trusts her, nobody believes her and nobody can count on her. Saying NAFTA is great, then in Ohio No it is not good beause you need their vote, then send Blanchard to Canada to tell them no problem, NAFTA is great. Saying you are completly against the Colombian trade agreement but you receive 800 000 from Urube and giving yourself 5 m debt for your campaign. Playing the republican dirty politics against your democrate opponent and hoping to win, no because Hill's negatives are too high. God bless America and God bless Obama.OBAMA08.

Don't be too surprised if you are thinking O can win the Presidency, and McCain cleans his plow! If he is the nominee, most Americans will put the country and not the Party first. Both the Party and our country have some big problems to solve. With the Party, it is the skewed caucus format and the denial of Florida and Michigan primary votes. Sorry to say it, but the process does not even come close to being democratic. With the country, we have every problem domestically and internationally to deal with. We need a candidate who knows the issues, has studied the issues, and has the experience to handle the issues. We do not need someone who is still on a learning curve.

Well lets all have a debate like the one on SNL for Obama, then we wont have to worry about hurting his feelings.
The flag pin issue was asking by a voter not the moderators, so what Obama supporters are saying voters cant ask him tuff questions, but all of you wanted an answer from Hillary daughter on her father's affair.
When question time came to the serious matters about the economy and taxes Obama failed, he had no clue what he was speaking about and came out and said he was raising taxes, guess all of you missed that one.
The fact is the debate was not bad its just that Obama had no answers for those questions so he failed that is all.

Way to go. Obviously, someone else does Obozo's web pages and has him memorize his single-directed speeches. But, as we see when he's pressed for details, he shrivels like a dried grape.

I wonder if Hillary could draw a crowd of 35,000 people in Philadelphia?
I doubt it seriously.
How is Hillary think she is going to win the general election even if she gets the nomination if she disses the activist base of the Democratic party?
That does not make any sense.

Tell Huffington Post to release the entire tape on Hillary speaking and not just give us the bits they want us to hear.

Hilary Clinton is right on with criticizing Obama for his "Whoop di do" speeches. And his supporters are misguided. The Obama supporters have been sold a bill of goods with this guy and I too fear for this country if he were to be elected.Let's look at his record.Oh yeah,he has no record. No experience. But because he seems like such a nice guy let's put him in charge of the country. And when he finally got a few hard questions instead of a free pass during the last debate, he seemed dumbfounded, almost taken aback.

I don't think the persons that hang around the Huff posting comments are voting for Hillary,, neither those that are in love with MoveOn.org so I don't think she is losing much there.

YES WE CAN what? Change what? Is Obama ever going to say anything substantive?
It's true. You get the leaders you deserve. Hail the conquering hero.
