Clinton Is Against 'Whoop-De-Do' Speeches
April 19, 2008 1:37 PM
ABC News' Eloise Harper reports: Sen. Hillary Clinton, perhaps venting a bit of frustration in a state where she was leading by double digits months ago, painted a grim state of affairs of this country outside a firehouse in West Chester, Pa., this morning.
After stressing the financial burdens Americans are suffering, problems with education, and more, Clinton stressed the critical decision these voters have to make. She jabbed her opponent, Sen. Barack Obama, who Saturday held his largest rally ever miles from the site where Clinton spoke.
“I don’t want to show up and give one of these whoop-de-do speeches and, you know, and just kind of get everybody whipped up," she said, "and those [of you who are for me] feel great and, you know, try to convince some of you to be for me.”
Clinton again made her argument that the White House is not a place for wimps, saying, “When you get into the general election and when you get into the White House, the stresses and pressures of the general election and the job are overwhelming. And we know we have to have a president ready on day one to take charge.”
Clinton refrained from criticizing the Republican frontrunner John McCain, and instead shared a story about their accommodations when they traveled oversees together.
“We’ve gone to Afghanistan together," she said. "We were in Kabul, and there weren’t safe accommodations. We actually had a row of containers -- you know, you see those containers come off the ships. Those were our accommodations in Kabul.”
Clinton has said in the past that she is friends with McCain and respects him.
Clinton had five stops to race through today -- on the final Saturday before Tuesday's Pennsylvania primary.
Clinton spokesperson Mo Elleithee downplayed expectations, saying the campaign is being outspent in Pennsylvania, but adding, “If they cannot close the deal, close the sale, here in Pennsylvania, they are gong to have to answer why.”

I hereby and forthwith anoint Obama: Barack "teleprompter" Obama. His worshippers are angry if others use his middle name anyway ;)
Obama is a goner without teleprompter. Mccain is a goner WITH a teleprompter. Enjoy.

why is this frustration? she has been running on this for a long time. i personally agree with her - but then again, maybe i'm frustrated and bitter (reaches for my gun).

Face it, Hillary has more in common with the Republican Party than the Democratic Party.

Hillary doesn't like:
Large Crowds
Grass Roots Support
Caucuses
Motivating Speeches
Former Supporters who support her opponent
Poor, sad Hillabeans! She would have been begging for Moveon's support in the general election. Too bad she'll never get there!

IT SEEMS THAT YOU JUST HATE OBAMA. ALL WHAT YOU ARE SAYING ABOUT HIM IS NOT TRUE. PLEASE BE REALISTIC AND SAY FACT.
''A HINT TO A WISE IS QUITE SUFFICIENT.''

And Obama doesn't like not giving speeches with his preprepared script and his teleprompters. That's why he has said he won't participate in another debate. Poor Obama; someone asked him some tough questions. Let's all blame the moderators for his terrible performance at the debate. After all, the messiah just couldn't be at fault for not being able to answer the questions forcefully and truthfully, now could he?
Obama 2008 -- NO HE CAN'T

I would vote for McCain anytime if Hillray is not a nominiee. I vote for the person and not party. McCain is more likeable than the arrogant Obama.
Obama supporters can just cry and be bitter.

She attacks Obama, but kisses McCain's ring... and she thinks that will put her in the White House? She sounds like a coach so happy to get to the Super Bowl that he forget that winning the big game is what counts.

Can't wait to see the pictures of her and McCain sharing a "box"!
They'll probably show her in a four-star hotel!!

You know, I am really really tired of Clinton supporters telling us Obama supporters that we are stupid, misled, morons. You know, you all sound a bit elitist to me. And, so far you are outnumbered. HILLARY IS NOT BILL. Get over it. She is unappealling to many of us for a whole variety of reasons, that we have thought through. We support Obama on the issues and his message. That's how it works. You don't like it, you don't vote for him, but stop implying that we being fooled. You all sound very bitter. Hmmmm.

In a year the Democrats could not lose the White House...they are gonna lose the White House.
Who would have thunk it?
The bad news is the liberal John McCain is going to be President.
That means three new David Souters on the Court.

the fact is Hillary lost because of Hillary. she could not run a campaign why would we want her to run the country?
i see the messages from other posters that "Obama supports should get real, the world is a tough place and speeches blah blah blah." the fact is you need someone who can articulate a vision, have the ability to get the best and brightest to develop and plan that vision, and then the judgment to execute that vision from birth to death; Obama has this ability and this is what the country needs.

It is amazing how "objective" the media is towards the most competent person in this race, Hillary Clinton. There was a good article about Obama's secret weapon: the media, today, I suggest the reader and blog writers to refer to it.
Hillary 08 :)

When Obozo is asked where the meat is, he stammers and stutters and completely avoids the subject. It's easier to teach a pig to sing than to get anything meaningful out of this slug.

You Hillary supporters just boggle my mind. There is an under tone of hatred to anyone who doesn't support her. Quite frankly the biggest reason I will not support her is, she IS DIVISIVE! I am not a child. Speak to me like an adult!!!!
OBAMA has the best chances of getting rid of lobbyists, which are there reals reasons this country is going down the toilet!!!

So I understand it's official now that Sir Hillary has become a Republican?
Ah, now I understand -
THAT's why she voted for the war in Iraq!
THAT's why she lobbied for NAFTA from the very start!
THAT's why she's in bed with America's most powerful Free Trade Lobbyist on the payroll of FOREIGN governments!
THAT's why she favors an American imperialist nuclear umbrella for Arab countries!
She's another Joe Lieberman!
Barack Obama is the last remaining candidate for the Democrats in this race.

I just don't understand American politics. They want change and they want new face but yet they clamor to the guy who is almost consider a front man for a gangster. He and his wife have proven they hate America. He has ties to these radicals that I wouldn't be associating with let along as presidential candidate. I am looking at this country slowly going down to gutter. I could see Euro becoming dominant currency in about two years. Obama has no idea what he is getting into and has no idea how to get out. All these old Clinton so called friends back stabbing Hillary. Why are they announcing their support at the crucial time. I don't understand why the media is not questioning their motives. Obama gets free ride on these debates and he comes across a first debate where he is attacked and he crumbles. The next day in a prepared speech he denounces the debate when no one can talk back. This is not a socialist country and if you want to live under a socialism, there are many country to choose from. Obama must be stopped if he are going to earn back our respect and show the world we are not misogynistic society. We also desperately need someone to turn this economy around. Please don't give the country to a socialist to do this important and critical job.
