Clinton: Obama is 'Formidable'; Asks Voters for a Contribution

ABC News' Eloise Harper reports: Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, fresh off  of her victory Tuesday in Pennsylvania, greeted voters today in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Clinton said, as she did in Pennsylvania, that she feels right at home in this state – touting her middle class roots. Clinton then made her pitch for a financial contribution to her campaign, telling voters, “I hope you will log onto my website HillaryClinton.com, read where I stand on the issues, what I will propose for solutions, if you are so inclined after you have done so -- I would really welcome a contribution because we are being outspent and in Pennsylvania somewhere [between] 3 and 3.5 - 1 -- we really had to hustle. You know my opponent is formidable.”

Clinton, speaking to hundreds of people gathered outside in downtown Indianapolis, made the argument that she is ahead in the popular vote because more people have voted for her than Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., including Michigan and Florida in her tally.

“I am very proud that as of today, I have received more votes by the people who have voted than anybody else. Because it’s a very close race but if you count as I count, the 2.3 million people who voted in Michigan and Florida then we are going to build on that," she said, "Every time I am in northern Indiana all these people come from northern Michigan they all say make our votes to count.”

Clinton spoke about her victory in Pennsylvania in somber tones, stressing the point that she and her opponent both put in the same amount  time in that state -- but voters chose her.

“Yesterday after a hard-fought, six-week campaign, just the two of us traveling back and forth across Pennsylvania meeting with voters in small groups and large answering questions. Putting forth our best case for the changes we wish to make for America the voters in Pennsylvania decided in an overwhelming majority that they could count on me.”

Clinton said she will be spending her time in Indiana, the next up primary vote on May 6. North Carolina also votes May 6.

Telling voters she looks forward to spending the Spring in this state, Clinton said "Who would’ve thought that Indiana would be voting on May 6th to help pick a president? Well, I’m looking forward to a vigorous campaign it is going to wonderful traveling across Indiana in the springtime watching the trees bud and the flowers come into full bloom and the corn grow.”

Kevin - See that's the problem, Kevin. Some states whites males vote Obama and white women vote Hillary and others the opposite. Blacks, on the other hand, vote consistently 80-85% Obama. So it goes both ways. You can't call whites racists for voting Clinton without calling blacks racists for voting Obama. You can't have it both way here.

Hillary WON! The Obama supporters are nervous. You can see it in those Obama-favoring pundits’ eyes. Just days before the primary they kept citing polls that favored Obama, saying that the race was tied. Now they are saying that Clinton was expected to win by 15-20 points. So a 10-point win last night was a disappointment for Clinton…To come up with this kind of twisted thoughts, you know these people are hurting.

The democratic party has clearly been hijacked by the extreme leftwing. For left-leaning independents, this is very frustrating. The extreme righwing nuts of the Republican party took control of the party and they gave us George W. Bush. The democratic party is in danger of repeating the same mistake—not electing the most capable person into the white house. Our country needs Clinton NOW. There is no time for the empty "hope" talks. In the Philadelphia debate, it was obvious that while Hillary has provided detailed and substantive proposals, Obama spent most of his time describing this country’s problems that we already know. He provided little insight on the solutions to these problems. Obama, I am afraid, is quite hollow in terms of his plan to lead this country to a better future. We need to alarm the democratic party that many independent voters could turn to McCain if Obama is nominated. I think this scenario is quite real and it has not been talked about enough in the main stream media.

Anybody who has looked at how Hill the Bosnian General manage her campaign will not give her any chance to manage the US economy, or become an already disgraced Commander in Chief. Her campaign is always in RED, could she not use some of her 109 m and the 800 000 she got from Urube to support her campaign. Because if you cannot make money out of your campaign it is no more people's campaign and if anybody could have bought the presidency Romney could have done it. Hill has to go home, she is unelectable, the odds are against her, she is trying to slow her political death. God bless America and God bless Obama.OBAMA08.

I'll send her something but she won't be able to pay her self 5 mil and her campaign 10mil she is in debt go ahead suckers pay her ,she can't win and she is suckering you to pay all her bills before she leaves. For pity sakes WAKE UP.....She gained 6 delgates

My prediction is Hillary will run as McCain's VP. That is clearly the best chance she has of being President. Her attacks on Obama strengthen McCain and the attack machine. Her attemps to emasculate Obama politically don't serve the democratic party at all. They serve McCain, who agrees with her and copies her attacks. She is feeding lines of attack to the fear mongers from the "vast right wing conspiracy" she used to compain about, and they are beginning to soften their tone toward her. Has this been the plan all along, these past 15 years? Hill and Bill have revealed themselves as Lieberman Republicans. Wake up and smell the elephant poo, folks, she's no democrat.

People are starting to contribute to Hillary because they are starting to believe she can win.
She manages to win with limited money she has for her campaign.
She is amazing, she is a fighter.
Obama would lose long time ago if he did not get those big money to support his expensive campaign.

Roberto - You are correct. Hillary is no left wing or far left wing democrat like you and the Obama voters. Hillary is a centrists and she gets the Regan democratic voters who always decide elections.

Mr.Obama spends money like its drinking water! Its no wonder hard working Americans barely making ends meet find him Disgusting!Mr Obama has proven that HE is the Democratic candidate of the Rich! His numbers in all exit polls show him lacking the supportof people whoPunch a clock everyday; who are having homes foreclosed, who cannot feed and clothe their kids, starving students and retirees on limited budgets. Why do the rich back Obama? when the rest of the American population don'T.....

If Obama cannot win over white vote, he cannot win G.E...

Clearly, race will be one top issue in this election with 90% of AA voting for their half brother and majority of white voting for white...

The base of Dems inlcudes white, black, latino and other minorities...

The base of Reps will be majority of whites...

So if the whites or other minorities from Dems party won't vote or vote against Obama, then Obama has little chance to win.....

So far, Obama proved again and again he has been in race just because of his skin....

It is undeniable fact....

You're going to have to wait awhile!
Hillary cannot get the nomination

Obama will be the nominee!
Maybe next time a qualified, honest,

Anybody still blames ABC for the debate they aired think about this.
Obama has refused Oregon debate also.
So,,,he is the one has problem with the debate no matter who will host the debate.
Either CBS,PBS or other network he refuses it unless his darling media do it for him.

Kevin, Being a Connecticut Yankee living in North Carolina I can tell you what does not sit well with Southerners is phoniness. Hillary is a transparent phony. Obama less than transparent. Hence support for Obama. And lest you think NC is a bastion of Republicanism remember John Edwards was elected from the state and this state has had a Democratic governor the last 16 years. The reason NC Democratic superdelegates have gone for Obama is simple. Obama may have a chance in the state in November, Hillary will not.

all i can say is i was for hillary but after all this negetivity and her baggage, how can she talk about anyone. there's paul -vs- clinton, "screw-em, you don't need them anyway" ((remarks made towards americans when bill was running,) sniper-gate, shaking hands with martin luther king jr. as a kid at his rally(lie), tossing her bookbag across the room on hearing of mlk's death(bookbags not around then), rev wright pictured with bill at the white house, bill pardon 2 members of the weather underground as president(never mentioned by the media), gov. ed rendell(hillary supporter) praising minster farakunn (also not mentioned.) and the beat goes on. put hillary and obama on a scale, her negetives out weights obama's by a long way.
