Clintons Report $109 Million in Gross Income
April 04, 2008 4:45 PM
ABC News' Kate Snow, Eloise Harper and Avni Patel report: Call them the Cha-Ching Clintons.
Since leave office, former President Bill Clinton and his wife, Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., reported $109 million in gross income to the Internal Revenue Service for the years 2000-2007, according to a release from the Clinton campaign.
On that amount, they reportedly paid $33.7 million in taxes at a rate of 31% -- a rate that is much higher than the average rate of 20.8% for that tax bracket.
They have filed an extension on their 2007 taxes.
The Clinton family donated $10.2 million to charity, or 9.5% of their adjusted gross income, including $1 million in proceeds from the former President's book "Giving".
Some of the most significant sources of Clinton income: $10.4 million off her books, $29.5 million off his books, and a whopping $51.8 million for speeches given by Bill Clinton.

They made alot of money - but they also gave ALOT to charity. How many % do most people give to charity - bet is is now where close to 10% of your income no matter what it is you do.
I am proud of Hillary and was deeply moved by her MLK speech today - she truly belives in Americans - ALL Americans.
She got my white male vote and has my continued campaign support!

surely no one can any longer question hillary's claims that she is in touch with, and one of, the average, working class americans.

The fact:
Clintons: 10% to Charity for at least 8 years..
Obama: 1% to charity on 2007 and <1% for past
So Obama claimed he is a true Christan but he never paid his 10% share.....
Wonder God would still "bless" him...

they'd actually be in the 35% bracket, not 31%, according to the IRS...but what does the IRS know, right?

I can see where the Clintons could make 109M on their trustworthyness and good character. It is not like they associate with known fellons.

Most notable so far (except for the unaccounted for 18 million):
51 MILLION FOR 'JUST SPEECHES' !

greg, if you think Clintons owe money to Fed, why don't you talk to IRS...
Posted by: True Truth | Apr 4, 2008 5:09:57 PM
Hillary: "Speeches don't put food on the table."
Tax returns: 51,000,000 dollars for... speeches!

Amy,
Good Job! This is what the liberal MSM won't talk about.
Posted by: Mark | Apr 4, 2008 5:12:41 PM
It seems to be that some lame people in here actually think that this release by the Clintons is the same as their tax returns. THEY STILL HAVE NOT RELEASED THEIR TAX RETURNS. This release is just reported income. That's all it is.
Posted by: Kevin | Apr 4, 2008 5:13:15 PM
Obama might be jealous to see Clinton earned $51M from speech since he claimed himself the king of "speech"...
Sorry, Obama should put more substance rather than empty shell..

Bloggers, this is just the beginning of the business. Let us give to media to digest these tax returns and give us somme feedback about what went where and what came from where. No quick conclusions. God bless America and God bless Obama. OBAMA08

This stuff is pretty straight forward so why the big deal? She caused herself more pain by delaying the release.

VERY SAD.....
$109 million..... and Hillary thinks SHE can relate to the "working class"? What a hypocrite!
Hillary is "crying for the poor while taking their meager earnings" for her campaign.
Do you poor people supporting her get it now? SHE'S DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOU....It's about the POWER!

Way to go Amy #1. I applaud your tenacity for citing all those Obama facts. For Amy #2, Frederick and other Obama supporters, you are only showing your lack of a balanced view when you try to demean her for pointing out facts.

Elijah112668, it will take a few days to scritunize the tax returns and report anything that might harm her campaign. Do you have any idea how many pages of documents we are talking about here?
Posted by: Kevin | Apr 4, 2008 5:20:09 PM
hm, you Obama should shut up now!! You just gave less than 1% to charity. I would not trust someone who claims he will change the country, but didn't contribute certain amount of money to the country.
Posted by: golfgirlusa | Apr 4, 2008 5:20:35 PM
dissolution of trust?...to avoid releasing 2007 return....sorry that SMELLS to me.
selectively left out what she wants to hide.
Posted by: moeen | Apr 4, 2008 5:22:00 PM
TOTAL HYPOCRICY!
Shame on you Hillary!
With all that money... you could repair many villages...but then again why bother?
That village that you built is voting for Obama.
OBAMA 08.... because he doesn't lie about relating to the working class.
