Drivers Education From Sen. Clinton
April 19, 2008 9:37 PM
ABC News' Eloise Harper reports: Speaking in California, Pa., this evening, Sen. Hillary Clinton was rich with political metaphors comparing politics to driving. Clinton used a refrain she has before, saying our country is on the wrong course.
"If you want to go forward you put (the car) in D; if you want to go backwards you put it in R," she said, before turning to the economic prosperity her husband delivered. "My husband was a pretty good driver."
Clinton then had an analogy for the Republican frontrunner.
"Sen. [John] McCain is a colleague and a friend of mind," she said. "I deeply respect his service to our country. But he has the wrong ideas. I believe he wouldn’t be steering the car in the right direction."
Clinton never spoke about what kind of driver she would be, nor did she mention how she though her Democratic opponent, Sen. Barack Obama, would drive a car.
The senator from New York did express a new line of frustration with Obama, saying he was misleading voters and that his campaign is not running a positive message. Attacking him over his new ad criticizing her health care plan.
"Unfortunately he doesn’t cover everybody, and he is attacking me with a new ad that he has put up because I do cover everyone, with more misleading information," she said. "You know he always says in his speeches that he is running a positive campaign, but then his campaign does the opposite. But rather than attacking the problem, he’d rather attack my solution. But that is not going to deter me. I am determined."

I do not know about you, but I will not jump into a car which has a driver called Hillary Clinton. Looking at how she mismanaged her campaign you can understand why I will not get into that car. The driver Hill the Bosnian General will certainly see snipers everywhere. God bless America and God bless Obama.OBAMA08.

I love clinton supporters who are waving the gallup poll around.
You guys were the same ones dismissing the gallup poll when it 51% OBama and 40% Clinton.
In other words, polls means squat.
Scoreboards matter.

The ironic thing is, Hillary hasn't driven a car in 30 YEARS. How's that for elitist?

Just a quick note about health care for all. My state recently addopted a coverage for people like me. In the middle...the hard working, non-assisted, making barely too much to qualify folks. That program would cost MORE each month that what I'm already paying for my 30-day supply of meds and doctor visits when needed. Universal health care in this country is not possible right now. She knows it, I know it...and any somewhat intelligent person should know it. We've heard enough broken promises for too long now.

sick&tired - I think you are new to politics. Go to bed before you get a stroke.
In politics you ask for $1000 if you need $100. Atleast asking for a full universal healthcare will get our poor people something.

Hillary Clinton needs to explain her ties with Terrorist organizations.
D.Morris, ex-Clinton staff member, broke the story on O'Reilly that Hillary was the Director of an organization called The New World Foundation. Through this organization, Hillary funded money to the PLO and other terrorist organizations.
In the nineties, she hosted parties for them in the White House and in 2000, they funded her senate campaign, even thought Hillary tried to hide the money being channeled into her campaign.
Hillary needs to apologize to Israel and Jews everywhere!

Hillary Clinton blamed George Bush and his tax cuts for the Al Qaeda attacks in America, in an interview with CNN.
As the New York Senator, Hillary Clinton did not visit ANY of the New York funerals of the thousands who died in the attacks, nor did she visit ONE of the thousands of New York families who were devastated by their personal losses.

Obama made $4.1M last year, he is very poor. Plus his pastor got to live in a $1.6M mansion in a WHITE locality with golf course. (Did he not hate whites?)
Obama will make about $10M this year, thanks to you all Obama suckers in buying his books.
Obama will make more money than Clinton could make in the entire life time in 10 years.
So here goes the poor man OBAMA counting money.

All I can say is move over Hillary I could use a ride.

her plan does not provide health care to anyone, what it does is require everyone to buy health insurance. It does NOT mandate what type of coverage or pricing the insurance companies have to provide, just that you have to have the insurance.

Obama supporters not so cocky anymore I see. Keep on attacking, just like Obama has been. Show us that hope and change! Obama has proven in the last few days since the debate just how mature and positive he is.

So...is she saying she is going to go forward ("D") or backward ("R")? Or both? My assumption was that this was a cute analogy for "D"emocrat and "R"epublican - but the specter of Bill Clinton always seems to ruin the things. Anyway, kudos to her for focusing on McCain.
If Obama does win the nomination, and the general election subsequently, he will truly be in her debt for improving his debating skills and responses to manufactured distractions.

oh we can jump on a choo choo train with obama what a cool idea, I think I take my chance in a taxi with Hillary, again I see no negative stories about obama , he must be just perfect, like the people germany in the 1930s, the media whats us to think positive, lets all get aboard the choo choo. not me Hillary 08

Obama train is leaving station, better jump on board now people; don't blame Obama when you find yourself stuck in the old politics with the Clintons and the McCains.

You know, McCain wants your trust; but, how can you, when his own wife could not trust him with her money?? I say, charity begins at home, McCain.
