Drivers Education From Sen. Clinton

ABC News' Eloise Harper reports: Speaking in California, Pa., this evening, Sen. Hillary Clinton was rich with political metaphors comparing politics to driving. Clinton used a refrain she has before, saying our country is on the wrong course.

"If you want to go forward you put (the car) in D; if you want to go backwards you put it in R," she said, before turning to the economic prosperity her husband delivered. "My husband was a pretty good driver."

Clinton then had an analogy for the Republican frontrunner.

"Sen. [John] McCain is a colleague and a friend of mind," she said. "I deeply respect his service to our country. But he has the wrong ideas. I believe he wouldn’t be steering the car in the right direction."

Clinton never spoke about what kind of driver she would be, nor did she mention how she though her Democratic opponent, Sen. Barack Obama, would drive a car.

The senator from New York did express a new line of frustration with Obama, saying he was misleading voters and that his campaign is not running a positive message. Attacking him over his new ad criticizing her health care plan.

"Unfortunately he doesn’t cover everybody, and he is attacking me with a new ad that he has put up because I do cover everyone, with more misleading information," she said. "You know he always says in his speeches that he is running a positive campaign, but then his campaign does the opposite. But rather than attacking the problem, he’d rather attack my solution. But that is not going to deter me. I am determined."

And afterwards everyone will get pardoned!

She is a story teller that is becoming
a laughing stock. Her stories are boring
when she should be talking about the big
issues. I cannot stand a liar, never liked liars.

From Retired Professional White Woman that wants to keep my S.S. check that
I paid into for years, and the government spent the money instead of
investing it. Obama is the only one
I trust. This government will rob the
poor and the middle class blind.

Obama don't want to talk about Hillary. This is a total waste of time but she and Bill keep trashing him so he has to defend himself. Her and Bill are making fools of themselves. They are desperate.
I hate Hillary and Bill. Please, I can't listen to them for 8 years. Please.
I don't care what they come up with on
Obama! Why didn't the news channel play
Rev. Wrights standing ovation at the
Catholic church when he arrived at the
Birthday Celebration? I don't care what
really, they come up with on Obama, I
will still vote for him, rather than
a liar. Bill and Hillary can be best
described as "the Bonnie and Clydes of
American Politics. She loves Republicans, or ANYBODY that will do
something for her and she will stab them in the back, if they don't continue to give to her and Bill.

Obama lovers allways put down Clinton, but never seem to mention what Obama has EVER DONE besides his stupid speeches to justify why he is the best candidate.

He has never done anything . He has NO experience. No past experience of 'wholesale change' .

No past experience of bringing republicans and democrats together on some kind of mass or regular basis.

The guy has a more liberal voting record of ANYONE in the entire senate.

Face it. Obama lovers want him to win simply because he is is different . Not based on any factual evidence thru the past he is the best candidate for president.

Its NEVER going to fly in the general election. Its just one of MANY swift boats the republicans can use against him.

Hillary does not even have a Health Care Plan if everyone will be mandated to "buy" Health Care! YOUR MINIMUM WAGE WILL BE GARNISHED. YOU WILL HAVE TO BUY
HEALTH CARE EVEN IF YOU CANNOT AFFORD GROCERIES!!! OBAMA MARKED "PRESENT" WHEN HE DID NOT AGREE WITH THE 1000 PAGE IDIOTIC BILL THAT MIGHT ADDED
A HUGE RAISE FOR THE "BIG WIGS" WHEN THE
PURPOSE WAS TO RAISE THE MINIMUM RAISE
BY 10 CENTS. I WILL TRUST OBAMA TO HELP
THIS IDIOTIC GOVERNMENT. HILLARY IS FULL
OF IT. SHE LIES!!! OH, YOU HAVE NOT NOTICED??? CAN YOU LISTEN TO THAT FOR
8 YEARS. PLEASE, I CAN'T.
MCCAINS HEALTH CARE PLAN: EMPLOYERS WILL
NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR BENEFITS. THEY ONLY
HAVE TO GIVE YOU A SMALL RAISE AND YOU
PAY FOR YOUR OWN HEALTH CARE FOR YOUR
WHOLE FAMILY. SO, GO VOTE FOR HIM. STUPID PEOPLE.

What an embarrassingly lame analogy: Driving a car is like driving the country.

So she says Bill was a good driver, implying that of course she would be as well. Does that even make sense?

Furthermore, didn’t she claim that she was always against NAFTA, even though Bill used a lot of political capital to get it passed (with her help)? And while her husband has earned millions supporting China, isn’t she currently bashing them, to the extent that her China policy adviser has quit? Regarding Bill’s $800,000 take to push for CAFTA in contrast to her alleged opposition to it, she said, “I have a long record of having a different attitude toward trade than my husband does. I don't think any married couple, who I know, agrees on everything, and we disagree on this." So, are they just alike, or not?

Finally, since she’s representing herself as the torchbearer for feminists and women, why is she running on her husband’s record?

BTW, the irony of her complaining about Obama going negative is too much! Maybe she’d rather he be the “wimp” that she accused him of being a couple of days ago.

Plus, he’s simply calling out and decrying the obvious: Her campaign has followed, and has even proudly touted, a throw-the-kitchen-sink-and-everything-else-and-see-what-sticks strategy since her desperation began in February. He has not responded in kind. What “negativity” he has engaged in is simply responding to and deflecting hers.

Obama on Board That Funded Handgun Bans

For eight years, Barack Obama sat on the board of Chicago’s Joyce Foundation — earning $70,000 in compensation — an influential board that “funneled almost $3 million in grants to political groups opposing gun rights,” according to Politico.com reporter Kenneth Vogel.

Barack Obama’s presidential campaign has worked to assure uneasy gun owners that he believes the Constitution protects their rights and that he doesn’t want to take away their guns.

As Jerlyn at TalkLeft points out, “At Wednesday’s debate, Barack Obama wouldn’t say what his position is on the DC law banning handguns.” She notes that Obama “dodged, saying he wasn’t familiar with the facts of the case.” She asks:

Why didn’t Obama answer the question at the debate instead of weaving and bobbing? Was it because he didn’t want to alienate PA voters, many of whom favor strong gun ownership rights? And, did he fail to tell the truth?

Jeralyn affirms that in November, “his campaign told the Chicago Tribune he supported the ban. (Chicago Tribune November 20, 2007.)” So which is it, Sen. Obama? You can’t have it both ways.

YES OBAMA CAN ALWAYS BOTH WAYS.. HE IS SPECIAL

OBama - When will you release your past 1999 tax return and schdules when you were a state senator? Clinton has her released, we need to see what you were doing before you starting working towards to goal to be the president.

Release them out.

Why is Clinton whining? If she can't stand the heat, get out of the Kitchen!

As an American living abroad, it saddens me how unintelligent Americans are perceived by the rest of the world: those supporting HRC/McCain are at the top of the list and now ABC news after the debate!

Hillary as a driver will fail, she will not be issued a drivers license. Look, let us assume that her car is her campaign and her co driver is Mr. Penn, how far they have gone? how they fare? Mr Penn her co driver has been kicked by the main driver, the driver lied about snipers in the road and her hubby the Billy will be always behind her bringing with him stained history and nafta's and columbians trade deals. Now if the american people will be the ones issuing drivers license, surely she will not be issued such.

THE CLAIM: Obama is a uniter.

THE REALITY: Obama is a deceitful person who prefers personal attacks to matters of substance.

Once again Hillary wants to take credit for Bill's presidency.....However, the negativism that permeates politics today was in part fueled by the outright lies and deceptions by the Clintons. The Clintons begat George W. and for that they should never be given another chance. The Clintons tarnished the White House and Hillary needs to take her share of the credit for that as well.

Bill Clinton recently said that this election is about your future and about choosing the right candidate that is going to help you realize your future. He is absolutely right. Democrats have the fortune or misfortune depending on how you look at it of being faced with two excellent candidates with two completely different philosophies of governance and leadership. Both candidates share nearly the same democratic ideas as reflected in their policies which are almost identical. Even among health care, which is the candidates’ biggest policy dissimilarity, the differences are miniscule, a few percents when including likely waivers of service from both plans. The candidates’ ideas are not how they should be judged, but rather how they would go about bringing those ideas into realization. For example, the current President Bush said he would make energy, better, more secure, and affordable for every American, yet he choose to create that policy by bringing together the CEOs of Enron, Exxon, and several large energy corporations to draw up that policy. Judging from Exxon’s last quarterly profits of $10+ billion and the current price of gas pump, it is easy to see who the administration’s current energy policy has benefited most. It should be completely clear to everyone that Hillary Clinton, with the advice and experience of former President Clinton on her side, that she is the more shrewd and calculating politician as most of us have come to understand politicians. Her style is combatative and she will certainly fight the GOP as hard, if not harder than President Bush has fought against Democrats over the past 8 years. Additionally, like President Bush, Hillary Clinton is also beholden to special interests which she may not agree with but play a central part of her campaign as in the case of Mark Penn, her chief strategist and manager, who was paid millions of dollars for lobbying for the Columbian government, all the while she not only allowed but paid him to undermine and work against her standing opposition to the Columbian free trade agreement. What would a second Clinton Presidency, whose husband and presumably principle advisor is beholden to special interests like Columbia trade, look like as it is being undercut from the inside by the very factors that have prevented politics from working for normal people in the first place. But this is the typical “Washington game,” the politics that we have all come to know and love since most of us can remember. A system that favors incumbents, excludes individuals, and at the end of the day is sold to the highest bidder. Hillary Clinton is an expert at this game and the choice she offers will likely be more beneficial for our country than any current Republican alternative whose principles of late have been built on divisiveness and corruption. Barack Obama is not an expert at this scheme and aims to change “the game” into a modern system of individual power where all people have a voice and a choice over their own future. A system held to the average American citizen before all others. I want to change the game too.

The real story here is will she blow him out in the remaining contest like she needs too? He has set the margin of 20+ points, can she match him?! Will she win on Tues? of course she will.

Will she win other contest, more likely. But, the story will be by how much she wins. If she pulls another Texas she should step aside and let you party proceed. Single digit victories won't mean ****.

No one expects he will win Pa. The point of spending ALL this money, at least to intelligent minded people, is to pull another Texas. The Obama camp knows if the remaining contests prove to be another TX. she is doomed.

At the end of the day, Dem. party is doomed so it won't really matter. Our party will win b/c logical minded people realize liberals are nothing but bleeding hearts....

Unfortunately, Sen. Clinton has to remember that before you can put the gears into D to go forward or R to go backward, you have to find the key to insert into the ignition because you cannot change gears unless the engine has been started. That is if the car is not backfiring, is Sen. Clinton wants to drive, she has to rememer that she will have to have a valid Drivers License in her possession, oh! and don't forget theinsurance card that you should have in your possession along with the documents that show you own the car. If you can afford all that you are one lucky person, provided your driver is not drunk.

Obama is a hypocrite and has been from the beginning. I love ABC for finally asking him questions that showed that he is not ready for the general election.
