For Obama, First Bowling, Now Hockey
April 05, 2008 11:58 AM
ABC's Sunlen Miller reports: “Uffda,” Obama said, delighting nearly 17,000 North Dakota residents in a colloquial Norwegian term of the region at the annual North Dakota State Democratic Convention.
Obama used the local slang -- which roughly translates to "Oh, my!" -- when he was given a hockey stick from the University of North Dakota Sioux , whose hockey team who is heading into the "Frozen Four" championship.
“I am deeply honored and thankful to get that hockey stick,” Obama said after he raised it high over his head. “It will have a place of honor in my office, but I promise you I will not wield it because my hockey game is worse than my bowling.”
He was given the stick by supporter Sen. Byron Dorgan.
Obama told the North Dakota crowd in a caucus state he handily won that they do matter in the general election.
“I know there’s been some talk that maybe states like North Dakota don’t count all that much in this process. Some people think that Democrats can’t win in North Dakota. Some people think it’s just a fly-over state. Well, I’ll tell you what: We didn’t fly over North Dakota. We landed. We competed in this caucus, we won this caucus, and we will keep competing in this state all the way to November.”
Offering more of a critique of Republican John McCain than his Democratic opponent who spoke later in the evening, Obama said the Republicans are a party of the past.
“The Republicans running for president could’ve offered this path, but their primary became nothing more than a contest to see who was best qualified to run for George Bush’s third term. John McCain won that contest, and now he’s offering four more years of the very same policies that failed us for the last eight.”
He said McCain offers a “cant-do, won’t do, won’t-even-try style of politics.”
Obama said regardless of the Democratic nominee, that person would do a better job than John McCain.
“No matter how long or heated this primary contest gets, I believe that either Sen. Clinton or I would do a far better job of leading this country over the next four years than John McCain. That is something that we can all agree to,” Obama said and offered up his feelings for the unity of the Democratic Party after the extended primary. “So I don’t worry abut the fact that this contest has gone on a long time. We’re doing fine.”

Behind in popular vote, behind in delegates, yup only in the Democrat party can you lose handlely and still, ahem, win? If the "girl" can't get the popular vote or enough delegates, let's just give it to her anyway. Yeah, go ahead and affirm the worst kind of stereotype that women yet still face. That will show alot of progress for America. Let's just tell all the men and minorites out there that they must take a back seat to a "girl" who outside of who she's married too, isn't qualifed to run a vegetable stand. No wonder Hilliary never divorced Bill, if she had any self respect and left him, what leg would she have to stand on? Without Bill's "experience", she is nothing, has nothing, period. And if that's the kind of "experience" that people want these days for the highest office in the land, then they deserve what they get.

Well now the Clinton's supporters are mad because Obama didn't slam Hillary?
Tell you what Obama's MLK day speech about personal responsibility, should have been listened too by Hillary and her Campaign.
Hillary wants to say whatever it takes to win and if she looses in the process, which she will, she is going to blame Obama, or the DNC, or the Media, or the American public.
America will be better off without her.

NotTrue, Hillary the Bosnian General is not and cannot be more qualified than Obama to be Commander in Chief for the US. You are talking like Hillary and Bill Clinton in their destructive words who said that McCain is more qualified than their own democrat oponent. The lesson here is that Obama told people in North Dakota that he and Hillary will do a better job than McCain and that is the noble gesture from a man of integrity and hope, someone who believes that the common political enemy is McCain a 3rd term WBush-Cheney-McCain and that democrats have to be united against that 3rd term. God bless America and God bless Obama. OBAMA08.

NotTrue: What you just said is NOT TRUE!
I've got some news for you! Learn how to spell this name so that you will not be ignorant when the question is asked - "Who is the President of The UNITED States of America?" O-B-A-M-A... Now repeat it after me... O-B-A-M-A! Say it again just to be sure you are not as ignorant as you sound... O-B-A-M-A!
That's right... Now go sit down - NEXT!

I don't know that this is really the right place to post this. BUT what does it really matter who is the most 'qualified' to be Commander in Chief. Part of the point of putting the President in charge of the military is to have a civillian lead military, which implies that military service or even military expertise is not vital. John McCain's military service, whilst noble and worthy, does not make him more presidential than Obama or Clinton.

these conservatives are on the decline in America and a new generation is emeerging here in this country. This new generation is ready to lead this country in the 21ist century. dammn care these conservatives who dont want even to see the promising leader like Obama. America is not in the 60. much water has flooded under the bridge of american politics.

Yes, I definitely feel that we need to start uniting NOW, not after the contest is over. I know that this process has been an exciting roller coaster ride, but we're all still DEMOCRATS. The real enemy is John McCain. It saddens me that democrats would rather vote for McBush rather than Obama or Clinton who both share the same vision for the country.

Mark Penn was caught red-handed making another NAFTA like deal for Hillary to send more jobs overseas....where Clintons' millions come from as payback...
SO, DILLUSIONAL DEMS OF PA,
.......rally behind Red?Neck/Big?ts like Rush Limbagh, Sean Hennety and
Nominate Hillary to send the remaining jobs overseas...so that Clintos' can become reacher even faster.

So Mark Penn's client deserted him when they discovered they couldn't buy influence with Hillary Clinton.
What's the story there?

LIES LIES LIES IS all that comes from Obama's speeches. He is a certified Deceiver. Can't make up his mind, says something now and then later change the story to his liking and his convenience.

Hillary is begging for ND votes...not too long ago, she didn't even care about this state. How DESPERATE of her. She is something! This woman is the do-anything, say-anthing to win politician that is OLD!
Don't believe her, North Dakota. She never cared about you before, and only cares that she wins!

Mark Penn gets caught secretly talking to Columbia about Free Trade. This after Hillary claims to be against it. What does that say about what she really stands for?
"If some of my advisers had been having private meetings with foreign governments and basically saying ignore what I'm saying because it's only political rhetoric … I think it raises serious questions." -Hillary Clinton.

He is so kind, and cool, and athletic. I suppose his next event will be the baseball season in Florida! Maybe the Floridians can give him another round of applause.

I'm reading Hillary's book right now called Hillary's Choice. I am appalled at how she blames everyone but her philandering husband. You want a liar for President? You cannot trust her and certainly can't trust her to run this country. I am shocked at anyone with any sense of value voting for Hillary. You look at the last 30 years she's been around from Arkansas to Washington to New York and it's one lie after the other. She's lied so much that she believes her own lies. It's shameful. I'm a 52 year old women that will not vote for her.
I pray Obama wins!!

What I am hearing is that experience matters. No argument about that. However, it matters only when you have "good" judgement. Look at her judgement...her campaign, that Columbian advisor of hers, her false stories, her veil racism, her anger at not be annointed because she put in her time. She is no more ready to be the "first woman" president than Jesse Jackson was ready to be the "first black" president. She is the wrong generation of womem to be heading this country...believe me, I've worked with the Hillary types for too long. They don't care if you are competent, they just want "yes" people. What you get is chaos. Her campaign shows it. The campaign (her administration) has already offended a foreign government. Give me a break.

I read lots of these comments said Hillary lies, do not care about voters and only wants to win.
I ask to all of you who think it that way.
Please be honest to yourself no need to tell anybody.
Is Obama honest?
About Rezko, money from oil company, gun control, his father came to US?
Does he care about voters rather than winning? How about he was in Hillary's potition in the case of FL and MI?
Would he fight for it?
If he cares about voters he should count all voters including FL and MI.
