Hadley On Olympic Games: Bush Has "No Reason Not To Go"
April 13, 2008 11:20 AM
ABC News' Mary Bruce Reports: National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley said this morning the president "has no reason not to go" to the Olympic games in Beijing. But Hadley was hesitant to give a definitive response on whether or not Bush will attend the opening ceremonies. "If countries are really concerned about Nepal (sic), we shouldn’t have this sort of non-issue of opening ceremonies or not. They should do the hard work of quiet diplomacy to urge the Chinese government -- in their interest -- to take advantage of this opportunity to do something," Hadley said in a "This Week" appearance.
He went on to say that a boycott of the Olympic games would not be the best avenue for dealing with concerns over human rights. "The way to deal with the issue of Nepal (sic) is not by some -- a statement that you’re not going to the opening ceremonies and say, therefore, I checked the Nepal (sic)box."
Instead, Hadley said the President is opting to pursue a broader diplomatic approach. "What he’s doing on Nepal (sic) is what we think the international community ought to be doing, which is approaching the Chinese privately through diplomatic channels and sending a very firm message of concern for human rights, a concern for what’s happening in Nepal (sic), urging the Chinese government to understand that it is in their interest to reach out to representatives of the Dalai Lama, and to show, while the whole world is watching China, that they are determined to treat their citizens with dignity and respect. There is an opportunity here."

I am happy so many caught this mistake by our so called National Security Advisor. If he had been there during the 2nd world war we would have bombed London instead of Berlin. With all the protests and the Tibetans waving their flags our National Security advisor misstated Nepal instead of Tibet. If Barak OBama had made this mistake John McCain would have aroused and Hillary Clinton would have made several advertisements on this. But Stephen Hadley gets a free check from all the experts from ABC News. How do we manage to get such incompetants in our Government and Media at the same time.

Why wouldn't Judas(sic) correct our national security advisor when he falsely claimed Nepal as a subject of China? Doesn't Judas(sic) have an earpiece? New lows are upon us...

Nepal will be a subject to China. India will try to stop it. In one years time. We will be talking about Nepal China/India crisis. It is altready started!

It is the start of a new world! A world where we (USA) are a state of the China Empire! It is true. Even a General slipped and started to talk about it. We will not stop China for one reason only. We (USA) can't. Our government knows it. We are becoming too economically dependent on China. It is all about the corporation making money. While we lose our nationalism. It is too late. All, the master plan. Of one world Government. Problem is. U.S. corporations thought they would be in charge. Tibet, Nepal, Taiwan & Mongolia Etc.. U.S.A. will do nothing. Until we get someone Like Roosevelt who is scared of nothing. Start making things in America again. Then cut them (China) off!!! Until they give up on global dominance! To understand that is our job!!!!!

Hadley's reference to Nepal instead of Tibet shows how dumb this administration is. It was just not once or twice he referred to Nepal. Condeleeza Rice came to the Bush Admin as an expert on Russia. Now we know what kind of expertise she is. The last 8 years have been nothing but a disaster and the self destructive Americans will elect McCain because of his War credentials which is not what America or the World needs at this time. We all can count on a weaker American 4 more years from now.

The Chinese government is a widely documented violator of basic human rights and illegal occupation force in more than one country. You and your country are next as China is using profit from your purchases of “Made in China” products to tie up many important natural resources around the world, including oil, gas, metallic ores, industrial minerals, uranium, coal, etc (I work with these issues on a global level). By securing long-term agreements to monopolize these basic resources used in every facet of manufacturing, the Chinese government is looking to monopolize the world’s economy and every time you buy “Made in China” you are helping them do it. Boycott all things “Made in China”; even if they make a lot of the product we buy, it can be done. Just check the labels and ask a few questions to see if there are Chinese components in product assembled outside of China, for example. Contact American companies that sell “Made in China” and tell them that you are boycotting these products. Contact your congressmen (and women) to do the same: http://www.senate.gov/ and http://www.house.gov/ and email your thoughts to your elected officials. If America is going to be a cornerstone for global democracy then we had better stand up to the Chinese government now before it is too late. I was going to buy a outboard boat motor made in China because I can get it for dealer cost, but will not do so now. Start checking labels today and say “NO” to the Made in China label.

Perhaps Hadley's ignorance about the difference between Tibet and Nepal (come on, that's a tough one, isn't it? ) explains something about Bush's cavalier attitude towards China and its Tibet policies. George, you should be ashamed for not calling him on it! Hopefully, YOU know the difference.

Whoa! Hadley mentioned Nepal a dozen times ; did he not mean Tibet?
Or does the Bush-whacked administration think they are one and the same?

LOL
At least Bush has learned over the years to behave with the no-nonsense Chinese.
Bush is leaving office a more pragmatic person in dealing with the Chinese, of A BILLION more citizens.
A boycott would be ill advised
Many Americans (especially the Conservatives) would like to forget that when Bush first took office, he was humiliated by the Chinese for being too arrogant, brash and brazen.
Many Americans have forgotten that the brazen Bush, in ignorance, crossed the Chinese, who downed the spy plane and forced the US to scrap our EXPENSIVE spy plane and remove it from Chinese territory in crates. lol

I wouldn't be so quick to dis Hadley for referring to Nepal instead of Tibet. In last week's elections for a Constituent Assembly in Nepal, it seems the Maoists will gain a majority. The Maoists are listed as a terrorist group by the U.S., so Nepal is about to suffer the same fate as Gaza when Hamas was democratically elected to lead.
And what closer connection to China could a group have than to be Maoists? Expect trouble with a big T in Nepal, which is 82 percent Hindu. Trouble that will be manipulated, dare I say, with the cognizance of this corrupt U.S. administration.

Bush has all the reasons to boycott the opening ceremoniies of Beijing Olympics. If he wants to see the game as aprivate citizen, no one would objects to that. It is his previledge!

Steven Hadley's comment about "Nepal" proves that the Bush administration does not care about Tibet one bit. I hate the Tibetan people, so can't be happy enough. The Dalai Lama and Tibet will be left to the dustbins of history, no matter how hard they try to embarass the Chinese people or the Olympic games. Nobody cares about the Tibetans. They have no oil and they aren't a threat to Israel, so nobody gives a damn. I love it.

I saw National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley wrongly using Nepal instead of Tibet in his comments on whether Bush should attend olympics.George didn't even correct it.It looked like dumb and dumber show.
I hope they don't show this internationally. We already have a president who embarasses himself and his fellow Americans with his lack of knowledge.

George was too intent on wheedling an answer out of Hadley about whether Bush would attend the opening ceremony to notice this incredible gaffe. What's more astonishing is that no one in the control room noticed and got George to comment or gave Hadley the chance to correct himself after the break. With "journalists" like these in charge of our top flight news shows, what hope is there?

I couldn't believe my ears when I heard the obviously pontificating idiot Hadley repeatedly saying "Nepal" when it's TIBET. Quite a differance! Comforting to know that he is involved in our national security. Could he find his rear if it was spot-welded to his hand?!? I think not.
A bit disappointed that he was not corrected.
If he doesn't know so much as even the current events, let alone history and political termoil, etc., etc., then he should AT LEAST stop trying to come off as a holier-than-thou know it all.

The question that should be being asked is:
Should China and the rest of the world freeze US Bank Accounts and place Embargos and Economic Sanctions against the United States for its support of the illegal Israeli invasion and illegal occupation of Palestine?

Either Bushitis is contagious or Hadley is an idiot. I rather think its the latter. My lord but these people are embarassing.

It appears that the National Security Advisor shares the intelligence of the President. Without Karl Rove whispering in his ear, he didn't know what to say. George certainly did notice that Hadley didn't know the difference between Nepal and Tibet - didn't you notice George's sly grin when he said it the first time? He was trying to keep Hadley on the hook to answer about the Games.

Gen. Franks was right. He is the 'dumbest f*cking man' in the world. That's a quote. Print it. It's accurate.
