Hillary Clinton: Rocky's Apprentice
April 01, 2008 2:28 PM
ABC News' Eloise Harper Reports: First "Rocky", now "The Apprentice"?
Speaking to an AFL-CIO meeting in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Senator Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., told the crowd that she is a fighter, injecting fictional boxer Rocky Balboa into the Democratic nomination title fight.
Watch the
VIDEO HERE.
"Senator Obama says he is getting tired of the campaign, his supporters say they want it to end," Clinton said, "Could you imagine if Rocky Balboa had gotten half way up those art museum stairs and said, 'Well, I guess that's about far enough.'"
Clinton added, "When it comes to finishing the fight, Rocky and I have a lot in common. I never quit, I never give up and I know that were going to make it together, not just up those stairs, but were going to climb that mountain for a better day for America."
Not yet tired of Roger Ebert approved analogies?
"I've Apprenticed," Clinton said, insisting she will stand up for labor when she is in the White House, and alluding to her experience as first lady.
"Look, I know there will be hurdles and set backs from now until November but I also know I'm ready. Look, I know what it's like to stumble I know what it means to get knocked down. But I've never stayed down I never will and neither will you and neither will America. We are on the comeback trail as a country."
Gerry McEntee, Clinton's loyal surrogate and AFSCME president, defended Clinton's hesitency about NAFTA when she served as first Lady. McEntee said she called him when it was passed and she said, "We lost," while the candidate, in her speech, said she "raised a big yellow caution flag" about the trade bill.
On a separate subject, when asked in a press availability about the financial state of her campaign, Clinton replied, "We are raising the money we need and we are paying our bills."

It's too bad so much of the media is playing the Medium and predicting all this dire stuff, like Clinton facing an almost certain defeat and bringing down the Democratic party with her to boot.

Well she has to find a way to communicate with at least some of the Obama supporters.
You know who I mean....the ones who think Barack is the "American Idol".

After listening to Senator Clinton make the Rocky Balboa analogy, it hard to believe that she ever misspoke in the Tulza story.
There seems to be an obsession of HRC with action movies heroes. No wonder why she tried to identify herself with one of those in her own epic movie: The Tulza GI Jane.

Problem with that last statement is they are not paying their bills.
Ask the landlord for the office they used in NH...who had to hunt them down and a month after they stiffed him finally went to the press...because they wouldn't even return his calls. Look at the Portsmouth herald article... from a month ago...and she continues to do it.
We have a President now who can't pay his Bills ...robs Peter to pay Paul...
that is not how a campaign or a candidacy or a government should be run on top of all her other "stuff."

Hillary has served a good purpose by being such a dreadful person, and making Obama look so good in comparison. He is now, Obama the Dragon Slayer.

she is a fighter and she will make a great president- its that simple

balthus-So how many "art museums" does Wright have for Obama to visit?

J. Another Hillary wacko. Please you start...share all of Hillary Clintons accomplishments. You know...the ones she claims to have from the time she spent as first lady. Or the stuff she did in College. I know, tell me all the great work she did in Arkansas. Just continue to grope. As a Congressman and a Senator Obama has made a huge differance and accomplished much. That is why so many are endorsing him, even those that worked the closest to the criminals...oops I mean the Clintons.

It is no accident that Hillary claimed to evade sniper fire in Bosnia and now compares herself to Rocky. When she began her run, Democrats called her "brave" and "tough", showing just how cheaply they value these words.
Hillary has never risked her life for the sake of another. She's never been a soldier, a police officer, a fire fighter, or even a lifeguard. She has no concept whatsoever about personal sacrifice.
She isn't tough either. She's never endured physical hardship. She's never served in combat, played sports, run a marathon, or climbed a mountain (like her 'namesake' :)
Her snakehandlers have TOLD her to make these statements and comparisons because they know, when you examine her life, that she doesn't measure up to ANY reasonable standard of "bravery" or "toughness."
Oh, and neither does Obama - except he played a little basketball.

When Bill Clinton said that Hillary is the best candidate he's ever seen for the presidency, he revealed just how bad his judgment is.
Hillary has hardly earned anything in her life. She only got her job at the Rose Law firm because Bill was Attorney General. She only became a partner because he was governor. She was no more experienced in the White House than Bill's secretary. The only reason she was elected Senator in a state she's barely lived in is because she was the President's wife.
Hillary is the LEAST qualified person to run for the Presidency in the past 100 years. No executive service, no great accomplishments, and no career of any measurable merit.

Obama wants all guns removed from all citizens. I heard about the questionaire Obama wrote on, but Obama didn't see. What a flip-flopper, just like Kerry. Does Obama think everyone is as dumb as his kool-aid followers?

I am shocked Obama could be a member of the Trinity church of Rev. Wright, the GD America pastor. The children attending will need mental help for years to come. If Hillary attended the KKK for 20 years, she would have been impeached from the senate. I can no longer support Obama, he has proven, he is not to be tusted.

I can see the election now: Obama has the experience - no, obama has the foreign relation knowledge - no, Obama has knowledge of the economy - no, Obama has military experience - no and Obama has done a good job in congress - no. Enough said...

PROPAGANDA is a good word for the coverage of this presidential campaign.
Do you have to slant every headline and story to Obama? It's way too obvious. The excessive media campaign has assured that many Americans will no longer believe anything they read or see that passes for news. "Fair and Unbiased Reporting" has become a joke when fox is becoming a fact check for ABC. MSNBC is a joke (but it's too painful to watch) and CNN just can't seem to get itself on track.
Look guys 50% of Democrats favor Clinton....100% of journalists seem to favor Obama. That is a story in itself. You guys are making the news in your efforts to spoon feed us a candidate that has plenty of background problems.
Tell the story!
Don't you remember when we had standards and ethics? Don't you remeber when you were a journalist?

I believe America needs to wake up, Obama is a great orator, no doubt about it. However I don't believe he is experienced enough to be president. The presidency is no place to serve an Apprenticeship. Great talks do not make a great President. It takes experience that Obama doesn't have. And this country and people cannot afford the time it will take for Obama to make mistakes and learn from them. He needs the support from both sides of congress and he is not going to get it and all his dreams and talk about change will go down in flames and burn while the poor and middle class suffer from the results of his believing if you say it. it will become a reality. I believe Hillary has a better grasp of what it takes to bring about the changes that this country, people and world need and how to get it done. Obama is nieve if he believes he will have the support of the majority of the people this country also has Republicans and I doubt he will have their support. And all his efforts and dreams will come to nothing more than great speaches. and the poor and needy that he wants to help will continue to suffer. He is not a Kennedy nor a Roosevelt. Hillary is as close as this country is going to get now. We sing songs God Bless America and My sweet country to Thee. not God Dam'n America. Al Davidson

People are convinced that Obama is a saint and good orator because the media tells them. After Iowa the media was determined to play the part of Obama's unpaid political surrogate. MSNBC and CNN are the worse. MSNBC is like an Obama paid commercial especially with the two misogynists: Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann.
Hillary should look into FCC violations.
Hillary is a fighter for the average american and her opponent is not Obama but rather the unscrupulous biased media.

The one thing I cannot stand is DOUBLE TALK. Whatever happened to this thing being over with AFTER IOWA? The what what happened to it being over with AFTER Feb 5. What ever happend to March 4th, drawing them closer to a resolution? See, she, her surrogates, her campaign, supporters, etc. WERE NOT concerned with EVERYONE voting then, so why is she so concerned now?
And don't you people think for a second if the situation were reversed, there wouldn't be calls from heaven and hell for Barack to get out of the campaign. I do NOT take her seriously or anyone that takes her seriously. There is a DOUBLE STANDARD along with the DOUBLE TALK but no one gives a damn. As far as I am concerned, she can get lost and take you people with her. She is a hyprocite.

So between universal health care and universal warfare, just how are we to fund all this largesse, with our recession, and evaporating job market? Umm Hilliary, Barack, Insane McCain. Honesty PLEASE, otherwise NO vote! And you should have the same standard. Otherwise you are a fool, who has been played, and will continue to be played by these fiddlers while this nation, just as the once great Rome... BURNS!!!
